What a joy to have the sun streaming through the windows this morning.

I have washing on the line, done a tip run, cleaned the window sills outside and identified the jobs that need doing in the garden.

My lovely husband is washing the cars and I will sit in a sheltered spot and have a cuppa outside later.

Isn’t it wonderful to see a return of the sun!

It was raining locally this morning but by the time I got to Liverpool the sun was cracking the pavements, as they say.

A glorious afternoon.

It too bad here either in south west Wales. The sun is out until at least mid afternoon…so they say!
Enjoy it whilst you can. everyone.

It’s another day in paradise here in mid Wales. It is throwing it down at this moment. We’ve gone from light mizzle, to steady rain, to torrential and back agin several times today. Not a glimpse of the sun. The weeds love it.

Hold the press!

It hasn’t rained (yet) today in Durham. I’ve towels outside to dry - first time since before Christmas and the Postman is wearing shorts!! Must be Spring.

Hi! Made myself chuckle - thought you meant soap - you know soap & water to wash! I noticed in the supermarket that the range of soaps are diminishing - wash looking for my cussons imperial. I no longer use the old fashioned flannel, switched to softer muslin squares. Although I shower or bathe every other day, I still have a daily wash. My daughter says its all creams and wipes and body washes now! Ps not watched a soap for years, but noticed a trailer with a load of old originals in. Ta!

Sunshine on a rainy day in late winter is so invigorating. Touches and caresses the soul.

Manna from heaven!

Not where I am, just another grim grey day.

I learnt a new word this week - Apricity - which means the warmt of the sun on a cold winter day. We have experienced it a couple of times in the last two weeks but not for very long.
Hoping for a change as we move into Spring. I remember the lovely warm weather in 2020 at thebeginning of the pandemic. It would be nice to have similar weather this year but without the worry and restrictions.

Sunny but absolutely baltic in Falkirk. Sitting with a nice cup of tea, looking at gransnet and enjoying the warmth from the wood burning stove.

Lovely sunny breezy day here in NE Scotland. Washed my sheets and tidied the garden. Long may it last. After weeks of rain.

Wonderful sunny day here yesterday windows and doors open, hardly any wind. today however back to drizzle and mist. Very short lived spring.

I went to a fabulous huge market in a local medieval bastide. I bought lovely fruit and vegetables, all local produce. Then sat under the arcades in hot sunshine drinking coffee and finished my very good book. On the way there and back magnificent views of the snow covered mountains against bright blue sky. Perfect. I'm not on holiday, I live here. How good is that.

Lucky you, sounds perfect.

It was lovely here I was sipping tea while digging over raised veg patch loved it!

Witzend Sun 22-Feb-26 18:06:05

We had some, too! 😎
And I found a pair of sunglasses that had been missing for a few weeks (not that I’ve needed them) - they had slipped through a hole in my coat pocket into the lining. 🙂
Yes, it’s high time I mended that hole - I’ve known about it for at least a month…

MT62 Sun 22-Feb-26 17:59:39

Glorious here in the north too.
I unfortunately didn’t get any outside work done, due to doing errands for my mum.
Did the washing dry, still felt cold though. Not that I am complaining 😏

Grammaretto Sun 22-Feb-26 17:59:19

Not here in my bit of Scotland. Sunny start but windy and wet now.

But I agree the sun makes such a difference.
Last Tuesday I spent the day in Edinburgh and Leith. It was wonderful sitting drinking a latte in a café at the waterside.

Lovely sunny day in SW Scotland, even managed to time in the garden and a walk at the local NT gardens. It was so lovely to hear the birds singing and feel the sun for a change.
