Good Morning Everyone,

Do a shop and hopefully have talk with those I know .
Health is OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Morning Mick, morning All from cloudy corner of Somerset.

Little occurred yesterday other than a bit of paper sorting. Still feeling not quite right but unsure why. Plumber will hopefully fix the shower leak this morning, our ovens are having a professional spring clean this afternoon. I’m sure Mr C will hover, I’ll leave him to it

Very sad news from fgt, my heart goes out to her and the family.

Best wishes to all.

Good morning from the east coast. What a lovely day yesterday mild and sunny.

DH cleaned the cars and I had plans to get a little bit of gardening done. I walked the long way to the shop for tubs of salt to sprinkle down the side passage path which goes green in winter as it’s on the north side. Came back and sat outside with a cuppa chatting on the phone to my dad. I was telling him about my sister and mum. My parents split when I was 5 but he still cares about her and hated hearing about the way my sister is treating her. By the time I actually got round to thinking about gardening it started to rain. Though I did get the salt sprinkled and it was watered in.
We spent the rest of the day just chilling.

This morning I need to put a chilli in the slow cooker and I’ll have a walk. Usual routine today with DGS from school and the DGDs this evening. Hoping GS has a good transition back to school today it can sometimes be tricky for him.

Thoughts to FGT and anyone dealing with grief and sadness 💐

Hoping a moment of joy can be found in your day today 🌼

Good morning from a breezy N. Bucks.
We had a quiet weekend ,I did some art work but not much else as my arms were causing me considerable pain.
I don’t think there will be any golf again for DH so expect he will pop out for coffee with his pals.
WI knitting group this afternoon, always good for a natter and cuppa.
Some sewing to do later.
My thoughts with all our troubled GNs and hope all can find something good in the day

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it looks cloudy and grey, some rain in the forecast
Yesterday I enjoyed a couple of hours in the garden, it was sunny and stayed dry but there was still a cold wind. Today there’s someone calling to collect some furniture that I’ve sold online for Dd2 and then once they’ve been we’ll go out for a walk and a coffee somewhere
Thinking of fgt and her family at such a sad and difficult time
Take care all 💐

Susan I hope you get your tablet sorted out
Thinking of Fgt
Best wishes

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dry, fairly bright South Yorkshire. Not sure it’s going to stay that way, but it will do for now.
DD and SiL came yesterday for a late lunch. The chicken and mushroom pie went down a treat, followed by pineapple upside down cake and cream. They were both very relaxed. SiL replaced two bulbs in my rather complicated bathroom light fitting. He usually has to sing for his supper, but never minds. I chose it many moons ago; DH hated it as it is so fiddly to get the glass shades off.
Not sure what will be on the cards today; I may go to the gym, have a walk round a local park and call in at the garden centre on the way home.

Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from a milder and brightish North Leicestershire.

Tiday I am going to iron for the first time since last September.

Yesterday was a very lazy day - I made Swiss cheese bake and listened to DH swearing at his team on the tv.

Such sad news from fgt yesterday. I hope she knows that we are here for her whenever she needs us.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a dark, chilly still morning in North Yorkshire. Hoping for a better day today.

Yesterday I had to spend the day inside and didnt even get out for a walk in the garden. Weird day, as had stomach upset and then kept doing things and listening to the radio and then falling asleep for short times, totally odd. I would wake up with the book on the floor or the piece of music finished, with no sense of going to sleep, and just that blank. Obviously I needed the sleep but wished I knew how it happened and could put it to use on other occasions. Anyway fingers crossed that today is starting more normally.

I did manage to do quite a bit of sorting out despite the falling asleep episodes, but of course the things I had wanted to find the most have not appeared. Still no new glasses appearing, and havent found the instructions for the radiators either so more searching today. I did have a good go at the fridge and it now is both clean and the food in it worth eating, but am lacking any inspiration for something to cook or eat right now. So the kitchen is really in quite a decent state with clean surfaces and so forth. Cant say the same for the lounge.

It is in that awful mess stage right now, where I am still sorting things out. So I have a bag of books that are going to the charity shop and am sorting out some toys to go too, that I had here for my grandson visiting, but that he has grown out of and I need to pass those on too. Added to that we had a very good talk the other week from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance speaker and they reminded us that it has no grants but is supported by local people mostly and their various fund raising things. They collect good clothes to sell to raise money, and so that has galvanised me into having a look through the wardrobe and I have put several things ready to go to them, but if I can I want to go through the drawers and wardrobes and be more severe with myself today , and if there is something that hasnt been worn for months add that to the pile. I always wash and iron things before they get hung up or put away so they are all clean and ready to go, and if I can get that job done today I will pass them on before I am tempted to get them back out again!!

No doubt I am like everyone else at the moment and heartily sick of the same winter clothes still being needed, but my only possibility of getting more cheering linen trousers out to wear is by putting my polar long johns on underneath!! Well maybe that is going to be the answer today, I just must get out for some fresh air and to cheer myself up with looking at some snowdrops and whatever else is shooting up. Well have to finish this sorting out first and then at least I will feel I have made an effort and got rid of a few more things.

I watched some of the rugby yesterday but again annoyingly fell asleep for a short time and missed a bit. Between the rugby and some of the olympics I feel I have had enough of any sort of games and would welcome an interesting play or two but more likely to get it on the radio than the box at the moment. I need to have something more taxing for the brain and think that it is time to begin working on my Makaton on a more regular manner. I dont want to forget what I have learnt and want to be ready to join another group as soon as I get a call to say a course is beginning again. I need to contact another lady who was on the course with me as we had planned to get together to practise so that might be a plan for this week.

There was no inspiration from the local papers or the Yorkshire post this week. Very little going on that is either of interest to me or reasonably local, and in fact one or two things cancelled as I think there are so many bugs going round that plans have had to be put off for many people. It would be a great time for someone to organise a charity coffee morning or bring and buy or whatever, there is so little happening that I am sure that many people would be keen to get out and do something.

February has been pretty much a dead loss here, and I had hoped to get out and see some of the great sky things with various planets and the moon etc all lining up. I went out to look but it was too cloudy and didnt see anything, and there is meant to be a special moon night coming up but dont think that is going to be visible here either unless I drive up to somewhere where there is a dark sky and hope for a clear night.

Hope you have a good trip into Bicester Mick and meet a friend or two. Hope you enjoy the film Grandmattie. Susan56 good luck with the battle of the medications. I know how infuriating it can be. Whilst of course the pharmacists have a lot of knowledge and think one tablet is going to be the same as another, they do not allow for the fact that obviously , you know your own body more than anyone else. I had managed after quite a while to balance my medications so that I was managing my diabetes but just avoiding having any excema , and so long as I didnt get a cold or flu it was working. Then they announced that x tablet was going to be replaced by y tablet and there would be no different. I told them that I had had that in the past and it didnt work for me, but they insisted on the change. So then the excema came back with a vengeance and took quite a long time to calm down. They rather begrudgingly put me back on the other tablet and now no more problems.

Well just looked out and the sky is clearing , a bit of a breeze, and a couple of pigeons walking the branches of the tree, perhaps prospecting for nest sites, but not a leaf in sight yet. However here we go again with rain starting to appear on the windows. Fingers crossed it is just going to be a shower and the wind will clear it away.

Wishing you all a successful day in whatever you plan and that the weather improves with sun coming out to cheer us all

Gagagran Mon 23-Feb-26 07:15:12

Good morning all from a dull but so far dry south coast. Hopefully we shall have a better week of weather but I am still getting flood warnings on my phone.

Such sad news from FGTs yesterday and my heart goes out to her and her family. They will all be devastated I know. Hope the wonderful support on this thread is some small comfort.

Just some ironing on my to do list and some drawers I need to sort out if I have the urge later.

Kind thoughts to all with struggles of any sort and hope the day brings some ease and calm.

Good morning from a sunny Malta where the high is forecast at 19°C.

I woke at 2am and took a while to get back to sleep, hence I’m now up late.

FaceTimed with the birthday girl yesterday. Bless her. I did feel sad that I wasn’t with her. I haven’t been with her on her birthday since her 7th.

DD2 had made a lovely cake and cookies with the theme ‘she’s a weenie bit older’. Bearing in mind Americans call dachsunds ‘wiener dogs’ or ‘weenies’, they featured a lot. Photos in case you’re interested.

I’m meeting a friend who is over from the UK . She and her late husband used to work for us when we had our restaurant and she visits quite often with her new partner. ( Her husband and mine both died of oesophageal cancer within 18 months of each other.)

Sorry you are still unwell Grandmabatty, it seems never ending doesn’t it.

Love to FGT, it’s a difficult road you have to walk now and my heart aches for you.💔

Hope the day brings some joy. ☀️

Redcar Mon 23-Feb-26 07:08:03

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cloudy and mild but dry at the moment. Showers are forecast. Yesterday was grey in the morning but sunny in the afternoon, I had a walk then did a little gardening.. It didn’t seem to upset my back too much, so I’ll do a little more today. I didn’t sleep well in spite of the extra exercise, so am feeling a bit dozy this morning.

Thinking of fgt this morning, and also of md. I hope md’s DdiL is recovering and will be allowed home soon.

susan I hope that you are able to get your usual meds reinstated today.

starie good that you have relief from your joint pain.

Hugs to all who need one.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Marzipan22 Mon 23-Feb-26 06:59:42

Good morning from a dark, dry Cornwall. Yesterday I watched my granddaughter cantering around the indoor school at the new stables she goes to. So confident, bless her. Then her family and I took off to the nearby dunes and played in the lowering sun.

Today I'm collecting my new specs and must start machine sewing the Boro jacket for my friend.

💕 for FGT.

Good morning from a dry Black Country. The sun actually shone for a short while yesterday!

Doctors Surgery this morning for a small 'procedure' of removing a lesion on the top of my leg. A 4-6 wait ending up being 3 months!

Thinking of FGT at this very sad time for her and her family.

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from s somerset

Knitting sleeve-less number 4 is cracking on, I have my mojo back and glad of it. I do turn tv off at 8.30 and my body tells me to get up to bed, last night I took knitting to bed and lasted a full hour before shut eye

So my overnight mind talks to me and I have now made a decision about my left side teeth. I cannot be using just the right side much longer, it is too unbalancing. I am thinking about potentially another 25 years of teeth caution. It has to be 2 implants and I am going to talk to my dentist today. I get these deep-down worries surfacing from time to time and now it is about my fragile back teeth

Have a good day

Good morning, it’s very windy here in south Glos, I can hear it battering the woods behind us.
A very meh day yesterday, so short of breath doing anything. Did cook a roast dinner but cba to eat any.
Window cleaner coming at 7am, must get up.
Thinking of FGT, such a very sad time for her x

Good morning from Cyprus,
Builders have finally finished and cleaning can start. Nice and sunny 🌞 here. Been in a lot of pain with joint pain, but now have magic pills that allow full movement again.🎉
Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning from my corner of S E Essex.

Gym first thing, a quick catch up with some jobs.

Good morning from rainy South Lanarkshire.

The Sunday Cafe after Mass went well yesterday, the hall was packed.

I’ve a long overdue eye test booked for this morning and DH has to go to hospital this afternoon for swabs ahead of his surgery next week. 🤞

Thinking especially of fgt.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

grandMattie Mon 23-Feb-26 06:24:42

I hope you win your fight, *Susan56^. People like that tend to patronise you, don’t believe that you can understand such arcane things, and the older you get, the stupider you become. Bon courage.

Good morning from a breezy but dry Torbay following a day that gave us several hours of sunshine yesterday which was a welcome change from the cloudy and wet days of late.

After church I went to Lidl as planned and found it much busier than when I go in the early mornings. I was disappointed to find that they have disposed of the small and shallow trolleys that I normally use in favour of deeper ones that are just a small version of the very large ones. They are not as capacious as the old ones despite being deeper which makes unloading more demanding!

My thoughts are with FGT and her family at this sad time. ✝️

Susan, I hope you get your medication sorted out. Thank you for your concern. It's just a cold but a particularly unpleasant one.

Susan56 Mon 23-Feb-26 05:51:44

Good morning from Shropshire.

We had a good day yesterday celebrating DGS1.He enjoyed the day and the cousins loved being together.

Today I have to do battle with the surgery as my medication has been altered without any word to me.It has taken me eight months to recover from being so ill and for my body to settle down on all the new medication so a change is not what I need.I worked as a pharmacy technician and my knowledge means I know that the new medication will definitely cause a reaction with something I already take. Its going to be a difficult day.

Grandmabatty I’m sorry you are still feeling unwell.Try and rest and I hope the boys are good for you💐

My thoughts are with FGT.

grandMattie Mon 23-Feb-26 05:42:01

Good morning from Bristol. Dry but awaiting rain/showers. Again! It’s much milder, although chilly in the wind.
Such sad news from fgt yesterday. 💐 My heart goes out to her. Life will be very hard and completely different for her from now on. Be brave, dear lady.
Very little yesterday, church in the morning, the I started the latest quilt - from scraps. Just strips then assembled. It’s just occurred to me that I might make a log cabin one, or perhaps not. Haven’t decided.
Today, Tesco, then the monthly OAP film in the church hall this afternoon. It’s “Conclave”, so I’ll most likely go.
Wishing all our mountaineers a peaceful week, with especially thoughts for fgt and family.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Grandmabatty Mon 23-Feb-26 05:36:26

Good morning Mick and others, from Polmont where it's currently 7° and damp looking.
Yesterday was ok. I picked up a wee non birthday gift for dgs2 then wrapped all the presents. I didn't do much else as I'm still feeling the effects of this cold. Just after lunch, I visited the family. Dgs1 was so happy with all his presents from everyone. He was very appreciative of mine too. I didn't stay too long - just long enough for a bit of dds birthday cake. The rest of the day was spent resting.
I've had a decent spell of sleep, so today should be ok. Early childcare day so I'll drop them off at school and nursery later. In the afternoon I'll do a stint in the school library before I pick them up again. Dsil will come for dgs1 and later dd will pick up dgs2. Then I'll collapse on the couch!
Have a good day all.
My thoughts are particularly with FGT.
