Back from Doctors, thank you Marydoll

He said it was just a skin tag, but took it off anyway. Sharp pain from local anaesthetic, and then didn't feel a thing! Obviously will be send away for analysis.

Home by 11am.

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

MrB and I have enjoyed a lovely walk around the dock as we do most days. This is a precious hour for me and something I yearned for when stuck in hospital.

My heart goes out to FriedGreenTomatoes2 and her lovely family. Her DH battled long and hard to stay with them, I hope it is a comfort to know that he is now beyond pain and at peace.

Good Morning from a bright Co Armagh, not been out so no idea if it’s warmer , rumoured to be warmer here
I am usually out and about on a Monday but my chauffeur is otherwise engaged
I have plenty I could be doing , but the will is asleep 😴
Such sad news from FGT 🕯️
MD hoping for good news

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Good day yesterday, I made cards and a big saucepan of chicken soup from a carcass as well as practising new songs.
FaceTime with DD in the south, who is helping me with the transfer to another financial advisor and the discovery of more shares held by my late DH.

Very strange, late evening, there were shuffles and bangs in the house as if coming from the open plan dining room, hall or kitchen. I was in the sitting room alone, I jumped up and shouted Hello, turned lights on, but nothing. Seemed like there was a poltergeist in the house. Can’t explain it as nothing was disturbed. The cat, asleep on my lap, joined in the search.

There is a folk club meeting this afternoon. My painful neck has improved but I have to take blood pressure readings twice a day.

Such sad news from FGT, thoughts to Gingster and all🌺

Was so hoping for good news, Marydoll; fingers crossed for today. Endless February really won’t go on for ever, and as the snowdrops in the garden fade we have lots of daffodils, crocuses and primroses coming into flower, a legacy of the previous owners who planted a true spring garden which I try not to upset.

Another empty day but am feeling rather more myself so may clean the silver as a small nod to spring.

Redcar Mon 23-Feb-26 08:56:51

Beautiful biscuits and cake bellasnana your daughter is so talented.
marydoll I have everything crossed for your DdiL and hope she’ll be home this afternoon.

monk08 Mon 23-Feb-26 08:44:22

Love the photos EkwaNimitee the croc looks like it's eyeing up its dinner 😀.

Marydoll Mon 23-Feb-26 08:40:19

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow, where it is currently 7°C.

Such sad news from the FGTs.j💐

Susan, I have been in a similar position, when I knew, that prescribed medication would contraindicate with my Rescue pack. Trying to get the receptionist understand the situation, was was extremely stressful. Good luck ♥️

Yesterday DS asked us to take Dollie, while he went to his five a side football game. However, she was quite unwell, when she arrived, so she had to stay until lunchtime, to allow DS to go to the hospital.
I was supposed to be helping to prepare for the Ladies' afternoon, but I noticed that she had an eye infection, so that had to be dealt with.

She was supposed to have a video call with her mum, but I heard dreadful sobbing, coming from the conservatory. DS had forgotten to reset her screen timer and I had to give her my phone.
Mummy didn't answer, more tears ensued. I tried to explain that mummy might have the doctor present and couldn't answer.
Eventually, when DIL phoned back, they were both in tears and eventually, I took the phone into another room, to speak to DIL alone.
DIL was upset, because she has been told so many times , that she is going home, then something happens to prevent it.
I was so upset for her.
However, if the wound team are happy, she can come home this afternoon. I am afraid to count on it.
I am worn out, both physically and mentally.

Our ladies' afternoon was a tremendous success, there were high school classmates present, whom I hadn't seen in decades, former parents and ex pupils.
One young woman said she had spotted me immediately, as I hadn't changed a bit. She said, that she felt herself straightening up in her chair. 🤣

The mother of one of the most challenging pupils in my career approached me to thank me for what I did for her son. (He once stamped on my newly healed broken foot,)
He was so challenging, I had to go back into class that year, no other member of staff could cope.
When a parent acknowledges your input like that, it gives you such a boost.

I spent the afternoon troubleshooting. We ran out of alcohol, (two runs to Asda), loo rolls and at one point the curate caught me rummaging in the presbytery kichen, looking for a corkscrew. I told him, he wouldn't need it, because it was Lent!😉

I cut through the church to look for the young sacristan. Dressed in a fur coat, velvet dress, carrying loo rolls and a corkscrew, I got some funny looks from new parishioners.

We raised at least £3,000 and a parishioner has offered to match the amount,
I don't think he has realised, how successful we are at fundraising!! He is in for a shock, when he finds out this morning. 🤣

This morning I will go to weekday Mass, for the first time in five weeks.
It was so heartwarming yesterday, to be given hugs by people who had missed me, thought I was dead. I was also told off for doing too much, but I am a lost cause.

After Mass (and returning the corkscrew and various items, I purloined), I am going to help clean the Parish hall. The hall keeper's young son is just out of hospital, so we are all helping out.
DH will do the school run this afternoon and hopefully go home to find her mummy there. 🙏
I cannot express how overwhelmed I am by your kindness and prayers.♥️

Good luck for your procedure, Nannyjan.

Best wishes to all of you, especially Gingster, her DD and all the family.
Have a pleasant day folks.

Good morning from dry bright Cambridgeshire. Yesterday was a beautiful mild sunny day and I managed two hours in the garden tidying as it was my green bin collection this morning.

Such sad news from FGT thinking of you and your family 💐

My DGD2 returns to school today after half term and after a week with her dad she returned yesterday evening in a very overtired and emotional state so not sure how the school run will go this morning. I await a phone call and then plan to go walking across the fields to blow the cobwebs away. Later on I will take DGD to her dance class and give her a big hug.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Monday.

monk08 Mon 23-Feb-26 08:37:26

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
NannyJan it was sunny all day yesterday in our part of the Black country, spent a couple of hours in the garden it was lovely to be able to get so much done garden bin full now waiting to be emptied.
No plans as yet for today but more washing on making the most of the sun so there will be ironing if I feel inclined.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans.
Thoughts with FGT 🙏🌹

EkwaNimitee Mon 23-Feb-26 08:36:29

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle.

I'm late this morning having had an unprecedented 8 hours sleep and no bathroom break! It won't last.

Yesterday was a quiet day just progressing the laundry and tidying away holiday stuff, in between jobs I read a book.
Today will be back to the normal routine...bed changing, vacuuming etc.
I'm also going to chase the surgery. I have been on steroids for over a year now with no follow up, not good enough when they have unpleasant and possibly harmful side effects.

I didn't achieve my walk yesterday so today unless it's raining.

Lovely, imaginative cake bellasnana, what a shame to cut into it!

And some wildlife photos from Costa Rica, I hope...

Georgesgran Mon 23-Feb-26 08:35:20

Good Morning from Durham. It’s rained overnight, but it’s starting out fine and sunny.
Dentist at 10 and I’ve everything crossed that all the recent issues will finally be sorted.
Hoping Marydoll’s DinL is progressing.
Of course, 💔 to FGT.

Best wishes to all. X

BlueSapphire Mon 23-Feb-26 08:32:28

Good morning everyone from a much brighter Northampton,.but showers are.forecast.

Yoga this morning, I set an early alarm but went back to sleep for another.hour, so am all behind. Just made a quick mug of tea, and allowing myself a few minutes to write this.

Feeling so sad for FGT2; it has been a long struggle for them, but her dear man is at peace now and fights no more. Sending love.

Did not a lot yesterday, a bit of tidying up, a load of washing and sorting things for my holiday, then watched the rugby from Paris.

Wishing all the best day.

harrigran Mon 23-Feb-26 08:27:48

Good morning from a sunny NE but still windy.
I went into the garden yesterday to get some fresh air but the wind was biting so I was only out ten minutes.
I will do some laundry and light housework today as yesterday was a lazy day.
I was so sorry to read FGT's sad news.
Take care everyone.

Grannydaisy1 Mon 23-Feb-26 08:21:28

Good morning haven't read your news yet but just sending hugs to*fgt*. Thinking of you dear lady, take care

Grammaretto Mon 23-Feb-26 08:11:15

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Bright, cold but blue sky. 6°C.

After exercise class and coffee the art appreciation group is expecting each of us to bring along and talk about a favourite artwork of our own, or a photo of same.

Yesterday I felt quite sad all day. I was thinking of FGT and what she is going through and what I went through.

This forum has been a Godsend for me. Thank you lovely people.

Hoping everyone has something to look forward to.

grandMattie Mon 23-Feb-26 08:09:33

Golly, bellasnana! What patience and skill! I’m impressed, never could do anything like that…. Well done her.

Jaxjacky Mon 23-Feb-26 08:08:11

Morning from a grey S Hants.
Gardener lady coming today as no rain is forecast, pruning to be done.
Yesterday was quiet, MrJ won in the pub meat draw.
Children and daughter all back to school/college today.

FGT 🥀

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 23-Feb-26 08:03:52

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Yesterday was spent mainly reading the papers and cooking beef and beer stew for dinner. There were dumplings too. OH started to develop my cough and cold so didn’t want any gooseberry crumble - his favourite.

Our cleaner should come this morning. Before she does I will ring my brother in Australia, whose 71st birthday it is. This time last year I was out there celebrating his 70th.

I have the final meeting of my diabetes prevention group today. My GP suggested I attend after last year’s long term conditions check.

A trip to Waitrose afterwards,

Have a good day.

FGT✝️🌹

GrandmaC47 Mon 23-Feb-26 07:56:13

Bright and breezy here in Co Durham. Half term here so no dgd or granddogs. No plans for this week. My get up and go has departed.
Thoughts are with fgt at this sad time.

Good morning from as kitty said a brightish Leicestershire.

DH has wax removal this morning then a friend is coming to help with practising for the online NWR quiz on Wednesday.

I am hoping to hear from the garage about my new battery but although they emailed Toyota on Thursday it takes two day before they reply.

Lovely cakes Bellasnana your DD is very talented.

My thoughts too go out to FGT.
I hope everyone has the best day possible.

Gingster Mon 23-Feb-26 07:42:58

Good morning all and we have a bright sky here in Essex. Yesterday afternoon we had glorious sunshine.

Family came for lunch, a few were missing through illness or busyness . Still , 10 of us here so a nice chatty afternoon.

Today school run, telephone calls to the hospital, visit to see Dd in hospital, another phone call to an energy assessor who is asking to be paid. Well I’ve already paid him.😤.

Sincere condolences FGT. 🙏🥀.

Take care 🌱
