Iv had children and grandchildren, happily married . I have some serious chronic health issues that mean I “retired” early . My husband still works so despite living on disability and his earnings I hope to enjoy my next few years .
We hope to

Visit various counties
Weekends away
Sort the house and garden into a sanctuary rather than functional.
Read and cook more
Enjoy hobbies, and iv discovered another in fine art .
I found it difficult at first but I’m trying to embrace the freedom .
And iv just bought a snake 🐍 a life long dream

Always wanted to go to Jerusalem/Bethlehem. Late DH and I booked once but had to cancel because of outbreak of trouble. Did also want to go to Antarctic and Machu Picchu but not trips I'd want to make on my own. Have not travelled since DH passed away, can't face it but we travelled widely for many years so have been very lucky.

A tiny mouse tattoo!

I think bucket lists are counter-productive and frankly a bit well, meh.
I have things I’d like to achieve - improve my piano-playing, singing, painting skills, foreign languages, learn more about history….
I strive to improve myself in everything I do and that’s what matters to me.

I too would like a very small pussycat tattoo!

I had my first tattoo at 63 and it was just a small one. Now some years later & for very personal reasons Im having it covered with a much larger cat surrounded by watercolour flowers. I don't really have a bucket list and spare from visiting a holiday home as often as possible my want to travel is negligible as no longer enjoy long haul. There are a few countries in Europe I'd like to visit but DH health issues have put a halt to that for now. Im just happy to wake up everyday, be able to get around fairly easily, arthritis allowing, and just enjoy the place I live with my new DH.

....apart from..... not sure where spare came from, darn autocorrect 🙄

My motto has always been “CARPE DIEM” and so fortunate to have “seized the day” until last year when I was diagnosed with a rare and stage 4 (terminal) cancer. I am 79 and hopeful to reach the 80th birthday, but late in the year, November, so trying hard to think positively that will be achievable.

I had a bucket list wish and achieved most on it, many cruises (Med, Caribbean, Baltic, Pacific- Hawaii & Kiribati, Arctic - Northern Lights, holidays to China, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Jordan (Petra), Egypt, many European countries. So, not much left except the top one I’ll never manage now, being Iguazu Falls.
So, in reality I have nothing to complain about and have wonderful memories. Twice we have cruised round British Isles and can certainly recommend these. One included Orkneys, the other Shetlands, also took boat trip to Fingles Cave from Mull.
This is not me intending to brag but endorsing what a wonderful life travelling I’ve had, and at this stage, to have only one bucket list item remaining.
I will repeat “CARPE DIEM” to you all. X

I’ve been so very lucky to be able to have lots of ticks on my bucket list, since my 5 GC are all grown up: jazz tour to New Orleans, Rio Carnival, iguaza Falls, Tango show in Argentina, Salsa dancing in Cuba, Godfather Tour in Sicily, then Sardinia, Madeira, lots of Italy trips, Caribbean cruise, northern Lights and the whales and my fave has been a month long South Sea Island cruise from Sydney, to NZ, then Bora Bora, Tahiti and on to Hawaii. I’ve done this with Singles travel companies as I’ve never been lucky in love, have had some awful times, and this has all been about my dreams. Still have a few more things to do and I keep adding things too, so while I have good health I shall keep going. Life’s for living ……

We went to Albania in our Motohome towing a Smart car.
Most of the people we met had never seen either, they were fascinated.

Thank you for your uplifting message. I am sorry you received the cancer diagnosis. Your positive attitude is admirable.🙏

Thank you, yes I can just imagine from films I’ve seen.

Noted. Thanks.

I have never had a bucket list either, MoJack26. My life has been spent making sure others do their lists. A life wasted perhaps? Just a life lived is all. No bucket list here.

keepingquiet Sun 08-Mar-26 18:31:14

I don't have one. Why should life be reduced to things you keep in a bucket?

I just live for the day as much as I can and if something nice comes along then I enjoy it!

Emeraldforest Sun 08-Mar-26 18:40:14

I'm still working at 76, so at the moment I'd like to be confident that I can afford to retire...much as I enjoy my job,I'm getting tired now,and bits hurt!
I've been widowed since 1993 but have had a long distance partner for 17 years. It would be nice to spend more time together!
Covid stopped my intention to visit a new country every year...my much adored cat just turned 20 and has health issues, so I don't like leaving her for many days at a time,I wouldn't relax.
I'd like to spend more time sewing, and other crafts. Old as I am, I'm a bit obsessed with fashion!

Polremy Sun 08-Mar-26 18:47:05

Ah. Didn’t have a bucket list until today but….we’re both going to be 80 next year. A cruise around the UK or along waterways sounds good.
Any recommended companies or itineraries?

SaxonGrace Sun 08-Mar-26 19:02:50

I’ve never felt the need for a bucket list

67notout Sun 08-Mar-26 19:16:47

I finished my bucket list last September so now I can enjoy whatever comes my way. I’m not adding anything as I am too unwell to make anything likely but that’s okay. I did what I wanted to do. 🏅

Arto1s Sun 08-Mar-26 19:42:25

A Viking River Cruise, and we’re finally going in September. Nuremberg to Budapest. I can’t wait!

SunnySusie Sun 08-Mar-26 19:52:54

Dont have a bucket list as such, but I would like to see the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls. I could do the latter from Canada. The GC will have to wait. I am not going to the States whilst a certain person is in charge.
