Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently-1° and frosty. Still in the grip of winter here. The car will need scraped later. Ashcombe your poor daughter. I hope she doesn't have too long to wait. Roses it's such a pity people take to social media to air their grievances. You are understandably vexed. Karma your stove looks so warm and welcoming.
Yesterday I achieved what I set out to do. I spent some time in the school library, putting it to rights. Dgs2 was in with his nursery group who have all claimed me as an extra grandma! In the afternoon, I did some washing and housework- more to do today. Later I nipped to dds with dgs1s water bottle which had rolled under the passenger seat. Dd and Dsil had gutted their pantry cupboard and it was immaculate. They are having a new washing machine fitted today. Still no sign of a tumble dryer though, so I'll still be needed! I picked up a fish supper on the way home and it was delicious.
Today I will finish the housework and go to aldi to stock up. I might go to the garden centre for shears and a brush. Even if I don't do much, I can tidy up the paths, drive and patio. This weekend my aunt and uncle come home from Spain, so we might see them at some point. Ds flies out to Cannes tomorrow for work. He'll be away for a week. Have a good day all.

Morning all from a grey and drizzly West Oxfordshire.

A quick missive this morning. I’m off to a Study Day in Oxford on Queens, Power and Thrones. Several lectures and lunch.

Have a good day everyone..

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

Thick cloud all day yesterday, it was cold too. a miserable feel again. The day passed quickly. Volunteering in the morning, after lunch a trip to the tip, a fairly unhelpful hearing aid adjustment for Mr C, a cuppa while we were in town before some grocery shopping with a couple of phone calls in between it all.

We’re forecast another cloudy day with the potential for a shower or two. The car is already covered in sand spots and looks as if it has measles. A kitchen blitz this morning, Mr C will help empty cupboards and wipe out while I sort and re-arrange - hopefully with fewer items. 10 cups and saucers have already gone this week. Will someone tell me why we needed 20 of them?

Hope your daughter isn’t in pain with the tooth ash and the wait for extraction isn’t too long.

Best wishes to all. Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I am back in bed with my tea.
The garden is white with frost.

The electrician (sparky) hammered at my pottery window last night when he came to repair the door bell. I'd forgotten how loud it is.
I'm teaching a couple this afternoon who were given a pottery voucher for Christmas.

I've been invited to dinner tonight in one of the new houses built on farmer's fields recently.

Well done Baubles with knitting the baby hats.
Someone in our yarn group does the same.

Glad you're enjoying Spain BlueSapphire.

Hope everyone has some joy today.

Good morning from a muggy Bristol. I’ve only just woken up 😲
Haven’t read any posts yet, but shall later.

I had a long day, with a hard Spanish class, then DD came to lunch before we set about sorting things out with the bank.

Nearly all transactions now have to go personally through them, with the same questions (what feels like a million) asked and answered each time, “to protect me from scamming, for each and every transaction (other than direct debits). It is very wearing. Bolted horses and stable doors come to mind…All that took about 3 hours! I was exhausted.

After dinner, I had a Lent group in the church, that was a good two hours too. Why is it that some people who come, never open their mouths, but take up everyone else’s thoughts?

I was too wired to go to sleep soon after, so read fora long time.

Church coffee and chat today, the empty.

Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

It’s a murky morning here on the hillside in south Glos, drizzling and thick cloud.
My lovely friend’s partner who’s a gardener came yesterday and tackled my front garden. It’s already looking so much better 😁 , well worth the money. He’ll be back next week to finish it and hopefully do my back garden too. I’m absolutely delighted.
Much hoo hah going on about the green space and playground on the estate. Several people are being extremely unpleasant and nasty comments about me here be posted on Facebook- I’m just trying to raise funds for goodness sake! Tree planting etc is absolutely nothing to do with me but it got some people being very abusive.
I really could do without it; I’m on the verge of pulling out from the whole thing.
Anyway, I have a watercolour online session today, looking forward to it. At least my breathing is better when sitting still!
I finished crocheting my shawl yesterday, very pleased with how it’s turned out. I have sorted out some embroidery materials so I am looking forward to getting started on something new.
I hope the weekend goes well for you all x

Good morning from s somerset, dull and cool all day

The house is too cool so the stove needs to be on later. I am counting the days to getting my new boiler, its been a long haul without central heating or hot water.

Most of the new plants have been re-potted, I was delighted to make 3 plants from one expensive uncommon whales fin, only needed to cut the rhizome. It was messy tickling soil away from roots and then washing every plant before changing the substrate

The fullest plant in the centre of one photo is 3 separate plants, the roots are < 3mm long. One other plant, called everest was soaking wet and would have rotted very quickly, one plant is just a leaf called coppertone but it has tiny roots so will be a plant in a couple of years

Definitely it is worth checking sansevieria roots anyway, they are never provided as I would like them

The stove photo is what it was like yesterday. I am aiming for quick heat from logs today, there will not be any sun input

I need milk, I have a heat engineer coming first thing monday. The road men have been wonderful, they worked their socks off to create vehicle access to my house and three other houses, for monday

I brought chitted rocket potatoes downstairs last night, I want to get them planted on the allotment today and I must keep my records up to date and get my mind sorted re my seed sowing programme, I need to be started by the end of the month

A fairly busy day today, catching up really, posting things and getting jobs done that need me to be out in my car

Good Morning all from the central south coast where we have a thick "duvet" layer of cloud and there is a mention of light rain. It won't bother DH and his cycling club who are off on a morning cake and coffee ride.

We have three birthdays in the family today. DD is 53, DDil is 56 and my big brother is 88. Ecards have been sent and flowers ordered for delivery as none live close by us.

Kind thoughts as always to all strugglers with the hope of some ease today.

Good morning all and it’s still quite dark and damp.

Today we’re coffee to our seaside cottage. Having a look at what needs to be done. Several trips to the tip and a general potter. Both sons will be with us and they will do the donkey work.
Where would we be without them 🌟🌟.

Enjoy the weekend 🌱

Good morning from Sheffield

I have 3 DGC sleeping over tonight. They are 15, 13 and 10, so it’s a case of just feeding them and keeping them safe. It’s so much easier than when they were young. Oh and the lovely Cockapoo too.
I think I shall do some baking with DGD10. We shall make some iced biscuits.

DH is at footie this afternoon so I shall have a quiet couple of hours before they all arrive

Take care everyone flowers

Buenos Dias again from Spain, very overcast here this morning. Yesterday was a mixed day weatherwise, cloudy and chilly for our mountain village excursion in the morning, but bright and sunny once back at the hotel in the afternoon.

I took myself off for a walk along the promenade, lots of people doing the same; then I returned to the hotel for a drink and finished my Kindle book before dinner.

Enjoyed live music and dancing later; most of us got up to dance to a Sixties set followed by ABBA hits!

A full day tour of Valencia today - I have got my raincoat and umbrella 🌂 ready!

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from Shropshire.

The children were both tired when we collected them from school after a busy week with the Eistedfodd, author visits and World Book Day as well as their usual clubs.Today they have clubs at the library. It is also their monthly pocket money day so a trip round town is planned as well.

Once DD has collected them we will sort the house and then probably fall asleep.I have loved the various outings and family time over the last week but am tired now😴

Thinking of all struggling and wishing everyone the best day possible 🦩🌻

Bellasnana Sat 07-Mar-26 06:30:11

Good morning from Malta where it looks cloudy and dull but the forecast predicts a sunny day with a high of 18°C.

Yesterday’s weather was filthy so today will involve cleaning the red sand from outside my front door.

I was surprised to have Milo dog yesterday, DD3 said she had asked me last week but I had no recollection of the conversation. I’m getting rather worried about my memory or lack of it.😞

Anyway, he was very good on the whole especially as we couldn’t get out for a walk thanks to the weather.

I did go to the hairdresser and had a cut and blow dry which I thought looked good yesterday but now I’ve slept on it I’m not so sure! Oh well, my days of caring about how I look are long gone so I won’t fret about it!😄

The boys came after school and we had a happy afternoon until their daddy came for them. I’ve got them again this afternoon as DD3 is meeting a friend, so I’m only too happy to have them.

I got up at 3am to watch tennis but it was a quick match with the poor underdog getting well and truly trounced so I was able to come back to bed but have now woken feeling like a wet rag.

I must get going as I’ve a lot of jobs to do this morning. Nothing exciting but it will keep me busy.

Your poor daughter, Ashcombe, hope she won’t have to wait too long to have the offending tooth removed.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning from frosty South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday morning the air was sharp on my morning dog walk, there was the bluest sky and I could see snow atop the hills. This morning the sky is beautifully pink so we may have another glorious day.

I’m not doing much other than keeping DH company as he works on his recovery. Ice, elevation, exercise, rinse and repeat. He is doing well.

I’m knitting little baby hats for the hospital, our yarn group will send a large box full at the end of the week then I’ll get back to crocheting flowers.

Good wishes to everyone for the day ahead.

Ashcombe Sat 07-Mar-26 06:11:25

Good morning from a dry and still Torbay.

Yesterday I enjoyed a much-needed restful day at home after being out every day this week. My cleaner was here but she worked around me.

My DD had taken a day off from her school in order to have a tooth taken out. However, her dentist was unable to do it because there wasn’t enough tooth left for him to get any leverage so she will have to have it done in hospital. She decided to work from home anyway and give her deputy the chance to run the school!

I’m planning an early Lidl shop today.

Have a good weekend if you can. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
