Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

I am helping at our Bright Sparks cafe today - it is for people with a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment - a similar cafe has proved very effective in slowing people's journey to a dementia diagnosis.

Neighbours drinks last night was good fun and it was lovely to get together after such a long time - even if the chat was all about various ailments!

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s already sunny. The sunrise behind the Pennine ridge was a beautiful apricot shade. Alexa tells me awe are going to have a high of 16°C today. Lovely jubbly as Del Boy used to say.

MacMillan are phoning me at noon today for an initial consultation regarding grief counselling, when I will be listed and assigned an appropriate counsellor as assessed by them.

Afterwards, I’m heading over to see my stepfather on the bus this afternoon, taking a few groceries with me from my larder downstairs. We will have a glass or two of malt whisky and sort out the logistics of how best we could go out for Sunday lunch together now I no longer have a car.

The morning has not got off to a good start. Struggling to get moving and had read a few posts and was writing my post and got an early phone call. When I came back to laptop the post had disappeared and cant find it. Now somewhat running late and out both this morning and this afternoon, will have to abandon looking for it and hope to catch up later on all your news.

Yesterday I worked in the school library, picked up art supplies and bought a new car! I went to a different place and it was a very different experience. I saw a car i had been looking at online and liked it so bought it. It was slightly more expensive than I planned but I got more than I expected for my old one so it works out.
Today I pick up my new car. I got all the paperwork sorted yesterday and emptied out the car and hoovered it. I then have art class in the afternoon, so a busy day ahead for me. Enjoy your day all

DD1 and I enjoyed a delicious meal at a new Turkish restaurant last night and then onto the true crime night.The tales told were interesting, horrifying and shocking finishing with clips of bungling criminals to make us laugh and not leave the event terrified!It was a good night but the miscarriages of justice were so upsetting.

Today we are meeting DH’s brother and his wife who have come to Shropshire for a holiday.

Good morning from s somerset, very sunny and dry today

It took the whole morning for my bus trip to Wells yesterday. The pavements felt very unsafe and it was very busy with tourists. The Bishops palace garden was lovely as always but I didn`t linger. I did not spend any money on market tat or fast food

I was out of my house for six hours and that was long enough so today I am relaxing at home. I have some gardening to do and may do an hour of sewing and certainly some reading and I want to make a soup

Bellasnana I hope that doom feeling goes soon.

Good morning from a clear, brightening Cornwall with a sunny day forecast. My phone started to pack up yesterday and my son has bought me another which I'll pick up tomorrow. He paid for it which is so very kind of him. My other son is pleased for me because it will have a better camera apparently. I'm pleased because I can link it to my hearing aids and they will act as wireless headphones for music and Borrowbox. The wonders of technology (and sons 😃).

Today I've no plans, except that as I'm away in Devon next week I'd better start gradually cutting down the bird food on my patio. Yesterday one of the robins ambled into my flat again even though he had plenty of food outside.

Good morning from Lancashire. It's very pleasant outside.....bright and sunny with a cool breeze. I've just put our bins out and today I won't have to worry about them being blown down the street, unlike last week.

Yesterday I planted some more potatoes and started sewing some seeds in the greenhouse. I also 'rescued' a big bee that had caught itself up in the cobwebs in the greenhouse. So I need to make a start on cleaning that today.

gagagran I eat a banana practically every day as a snack and I know what you mean about them seeming to expand in the mouth . I think the more ripe they are the worse they get for this.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from the flat cool grey canvas that is South Yorkshire. The sun is supposed to put in an appearance later🤞🏻. It was glorious yesterday but I spent the afternoon in the library with the writers group. It was our librarian led session. She produced a bag containing various mystery items from which we had to dip in and choose two, and write a piece about what - if anything - connected them. I pulled out a knitted spider and a tiny copy of Dante’s Divine Comedy!! I hate off the cuff writing but did manage to write a piece with a very funny ending. It’s good exercise for the brain to be taken out of one’s comfort zone. We all enjoyed it. I came home, had a cup of tea and went out for a walk in the lanes at the side of our houses. Everything is starting to look very green and fresh.

Today I’m out with the walking group, then to DD’s for lunch, after which I will come back and do some gardening.

Good Morning all from a still chilly (4 degrees) central south coast. The sun is getting ready to burst forth and we are promised another glorious day.

My tubs have spring bulbs which have all come out to see the sun and look really lovely. I am always so glad that I bothered to plant them in the previous autumn. So much pleasure from relatively little effort.

Choir was hard work last night as we get to grips with the difficult pieces in the programme for the June concert. Attendance seems to be sporadic for quite a few members and that is so disappointing as, when they do turn up they have to catch up with what we have worked on. I am beginning to wonder if there needs to be some changes made with the MD's MO being rather stale and our lovely accompanist having a few memory issues. Not sure why attendance has become so patchy.

On a lighter note, DH finally had his hearing aid fitted yesterday and already, what a difference! I could not believe the sound level he had the TV on. I have been used to being able to hear it throughout the house but not now - back to normal levels. I tested him secretly by speaking in a normal, quiet voice, behind his back, but he heard everything I said. I think he is pleased and I am delighted for us both!

A catch up day today and I suspect a nap may feature as I was late to bed and up early. I only have to finish my Tesco delivery order for Friday and make our meals today.

I try to eat a banana for breakfast every day, for inner workings maintenance but am finding it hard going. I get the distinct feeling that it expands as I chew it, a bit like the expanding foam plumbers and window fitters use. Does anyone else have a similar aversion to bananas, or is it just me?

I collected the hire car from Enterprise yesterday just in time to meet DH from the train at Torre; he was delighted! I’m not thrilled with the car - it’s a Dacia Juke and rather big and lumbering after my beloved, nippy little Fiesta!

Thank you for all your kind comments yesterday regarding the accident. Today we have a treat which should help me forget the woes of the past few days - we’re going ( by train!) to Plymouth to see a Birmingham Royal Ballet production of Don Quixote.

A good cleaner is worth their weight in gold, RosesandLilac but it’s true they aren’t cheap. Take care of yourself while you await your results.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. I’ve been listening to the birds for 15 minutes, I’m sure they’re glad of the dry weather this morning.

I had had such a busy day on Tuesday that I was wiped out yesterday and annoyed with myself for feeling so tired.if this is aging I don’t like it.

DH has an appointment to check his wound today, it’s drying out and is very crusty but a looks much calmer, hopefully this will be the last one.

I must do some proper tidying of what we laughingly call the ‘piano room’. That name came from when we moved here and the movers suggested we label the rooms so I could easily direct operations. The room houses a wall of double and treble stacked bookshelves, said piano, all my craft supplies, the printer, toys and games as well as various other stuff which I’ve got to find a home for. I’ve begun just closing the door on it so I really must find the motivation to start sorting it out.

Good morning Mick and followers, it’s dry here to in south Glos. Another sunny day ahead I hope.
I am pleased your hospital visit went well, I’m having investigations at the moment, waiting for results is scary.
Funny lesion on my leg is basal cell cancer so that’s getting excised in 6-8 weeks, 🤷🏼‍♀️
Yesterday I managed to do some tidying in the garden, just the bit at the bottom where all the fallen leaves from the woods behind us end up. It took me all morning because I’m somewhat breathless and kept stopping for rests, DH did the brushing up ( he said something about my not doing it properly so I told him he was welcome to do it 😁)
It was lovely being out in the sunshine and I sat in my Shed after lunch for the first time this year. Bliss!
I’ve been awake since 3am, don’t know why but nothing planned today apart from spending time in the Shed, with my embroidery I think, so doesn’t matter really. Grocery delivery due midday.
I did some research on having a cleaner (my husband says it isn’t his job 😡🤬), scarily expensive around here….. Will see how I get on for the time being.

Good morning from a dry, dawning Bristol. The dawn chorus is gorgeous.
When I had that filling done, I was taken aback by the dentist telling me it was free as it was “still under guarantee”! I had no idea , and was delighted at one of the very few perks of private dentistry. There are extremely few NHS ones in Bristol.
FAB cafe went well with 23 attendees. We are becoming victims of our success. Considering we only opened in November 2024, the increase and popularity is remarkable.
The ladies’ guild talk was about long distance swimming. Not very appealing, but turned out to be very interesting and funny. This chap has done the Channel, crossed from Scotland to Ireland and every other very long swim you can think of, though not Cuba to Miami….
Today,I’ve got an eye test. I’ll miss t’ai chi to go shopping in town, before going to DD’s. She needs to help me sort some financial out, over the phone, office hours, before dinner.

Buenos Dias for the last time from sunny Spain! 🙁
We leave the hotel at 7am for Malaga airport, and I am all packed and ready to take my case to be loaded onto the coach.

It has been a wonderful holiday, met some really nice people, seen lovely places and enjoyed lots of !

We had a lovely farewell dinner last night to round everything off.
