Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where I don’t think we’ll see the sun today but it will be dry.

Yesterday I popped down to the garden centre and bought a bag of compost and some bird food. I lost my favourite heuchera over the winter and was hoping to find another but they didn’t have it so I shall have to look elsewhere. DD and SiL came about four and we had a lovely roast chicken dinner. They were good company. And they do the dishes!

Not sure what I will do today - my legs are still aching from gardening on Saturday, but I need to get them moving again.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning mick and all

Gym first thing, this afternoon I pick up The Imp from school for his weekly sleepover.

Your friend must be in a very dark place Grandmabatty 🌸

You must be so very pleased for your GD Ashcombe

(((Hugs))) to all in need 🙋‍♀️

Ashcombe Mon 23-Mar-26 06:38:09

Good morning from a rather overcast looking Crewe.

Thank you for your kind comments about my DGD and her ballet success. It has been a very special weekend rounded off yesterday evening with an Italian meal for which we were joined by DS and DGS3.

What sad news from your friend, Grandmabatty. No words.

I hope your doctor will be reassuring, Marzipan22 and your plans can be fulfilled. Safe travels.

Please don’t overdo it, RosesandLilac - you do sound very busy.

Today we shall travel home and hope the trains will behave!

Wishing everyone a good week. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Condolences Batty - I can’t think of anything worse.

OH and I didn’t do much yesterday. We went to Hobbycraft where I bought a huge piece of black card. Massive! OH will cut it in half for me. It will be used as a base for a collage which I need to get on with. We then popped into a very large Waitrose and went a little mad! There were so many nice things which my little Waitrose doesn’t have. Strawberry and lemon sorbet lollies with a hint of mint.

Today is my podiatrist appointment. As you can imagine I am be a little apprehensive. A friend who sees her too tells me she is very gentle! I hope so.

Our cleaner can’t come today, but will come tomorrow instead. First world problem!

Have a good day.

Good morning from s somerset, bright and cooler today

I spent all morning on the allotment yesterday, I cycled up and coped with a 6 celsius ride and I was first one there, normal for me. I need to buy some more landscape bark, the bales are very heavy and soaked from winter rains, needing a lot of effort, sensible me says two at a time from now on ie two wheelbarrow trips from parking to my plot. I have to make sure my wheelbarrow tyre is properly inflated for these.

Dentist today and I have already been out to park my car on a road, the diggers are here every day and access space gets blocked. After today I will just leave my car comfortably parked on my drive, hoping of course that I get access back on to there this evening

The weekend has been lovely and I am so happy to have done some proper physical work and used my bike. The regular walking up a hill does seem to have done the trick this year and I am still in working order. Phew

I know you talk from bitter experience Matty, and I hesitated before posting. I don't imagine it's something you ever truly get over.

Good morning, a pink tinge above a bank of grey cloud on the horizon here on the hillside in south Glos. It was definitely chillier yesterday and getting more so as the week goes on.
Sending you hugs Grandmabatty, there aren’t adequate words are there? 🤗💐
I got three loads of washing dried yesterday so there’s a pile of ironing for me this morning. I do love having line-dried bedding and clothes.
Little else happening, I made a big beef stew in the slow cooker yesterday, plenty for a few days. We’ll have mashed potatoes with it today plus green vegetables I think 😋
I do need to radically cut back a rampant rose that thinks it’s a climber (it definitely isn’t!), hopefully DH will help otherwise I will do it bit by bit. I need to take out the woodiest stems and then cut it back to about 3’ I think (it’s nearly 10’!) I will need my gauntlet gloves 😁
Best wishes to you all 🌹

How I feel for your friend, batty. Losing an adult child is absolutely horrible. My deepest condolences.💐

Grandmabatty Mon 23-Mar-26 05:56:34

I hope your trip can go ahead Marzipan

Marzipan22 Mon 23-Mar-26 05:55:18

Grandmabatty, how sad. 😟

Good morning from a dry, dark Cornwall.

Stilllearning I can't remember which photo you meant, so here are two. The lad is now aged eight and too heavy for his dad to play ball with. I've said this before but I still regret not photographing my sons throwing him between them on the beach. He adored it. What trust these young ones have.

Had a lovely time with my daughter-in-law, eating chicken stew and later being shown the latest tattoo on her left buttock. Oh for a bottom like hers. (Sorry if that's too much info. Be thankful that I didn't take a photo. 😂) She gave me a good update on my grandson, who we are pretty sure has autism and has missed masses of school but is not yet diagnosed. It's a blooming miracle he found this course which hopefully will suit him, as it's project, not exam, based. Thank you for all your kind comments. Huge congrats on your granddaughter's accolade Ash, you must be proper proud as we proper Cornish folk would say. On the way home I bumped into an allotment friend and we had a coffee and catch up in our cinema's café which lies halfway between her flat and mine.

I should have been off to foreign parts i.e. Devon today but need to see my doctor to check whether my bronchiectasis has flared up, as my lungs hurt. Hopefully it's only coughing that's caused it and not an exacerbation - posh word - as Dr Google describes it. If not I will venture forth to Torquay tomorrow. Actually even if it is I'll go away anyway as I can always cash a prescription in a pharmacy over the border. I'll spend today houseworking, boring boring boring, but at least I'll come home on Friday to a flat that looks like someone loves it.

Good morning from Malta where it is currently 8°C rising to 19°C later with a cloudy day forecast.

Yesterday’s birthday meal for DD3 went very well. There were 19 of us plus the boys and two other little ones all of whom were very well behaved. There was a big play area so they weren’t bored.

Came home excited to watch Alcaraz (world no,1) playing Korda (no 32) thinking it would be a walk in the park for him. It wasn’t. He lost and I’m still shell-shocked about it!

Not a lot on today but I will find plenty to do.

Grandmabatty that’s such sad news about your friend’s son. 😞

Wishing you all the best day possible.☀️

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and dry. Still dark. GrandMattie it's good he's settling in.
Yesterday I went to the garden centre and picked up the things I needed, all set to do a little tidying. However I received a phone call from a friend about one of our group. She has lost her son in the most awful way but doesn't want any of us to get in touch. I couldn't stop thinking about it all day. I've known him since he was a young boy.
Today is early childcare day. Once I've dropped off the boys, I'll head home to tidy the kitchen and probably nap before picking them up again. Have a good day all

Good morning from a dawning Bristol.
The fine weather is with us for this last day, then we fall back into winter.
Yesterday was completely boring, the only interesting thing was a long chat with DS in Tanzania. He seems to be settling in now.
He amused me when he told me he’d joined a group where they have interesting talks, “a bit like the WI”. One was about bees.
Nothing much today either.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
