👋 GG13, I’m still here! I don’t often post I know, but always read and somehow feel part of the community. It doesn’t help that I often don’t get to post until later on! Good to hear from you though 😊.

You’re right Roses, it was doable, I used the audio on my iPhone which was good but it meant I was one of those peering at the small print on the wall!

Good morning all from a sunny but chilly Essex. The wind seems to have abated.
Sending my kind thoughts to all going through anxious times.
GMattie, I went to the Constable/Turner exhibition at the Tate a few days ago, even with timed entry it was very busy, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. If that’s your destination today, I hope you will enjoy it too.
Will be going to a class at the local gym this morning and hopefully get a passport photo taken this afternoon.

I was there on Tuesday!
It was busy as you say, but doable as long as people went round each room in the intended direction ( clockwise , according to the large print booklet which I always use as it saves having to peer at the text on the walls!)
But there’s always an awkward person who goes the other way so vertically challenged people like me have to duck and dive and stand on tippy toe!

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

There was a tremendous storm here yesterday so we never went out. It’s lovely today, so MrB* and I have enjoyed our usual walk around the dock. I hate not getting my fresh air.

As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.

Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing.

Good to see you posting Grannyme6 haven’t seen you on here for a while (or could just be I have missed you 🤷‍♀️)

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Nice to see the howling gale has given up.

To final opera co rehearsal last night before Saturday’s concert and it was nice to be serenaded by everyone re my recent birthday and be given cards and presents. Afterwards we repaired to a local hostelry and I was further indulged. It cheered me up as I have been left feeling washed out after my virus.

Thoughts to Roses and all🌺

Good morning to you all. It’s sunny here in Wiltshire atm. It was very windy with hail at times yesterday.

The whole close had new water meters put in yesterday with 5 vans causing a few problems with access. Waitrose shop later on

I was so sorry to read your devastating news yesterday Roses. You must be in great need of support. Can you at least get some from your children. My heartfelt best wishes go out to you.

Have best day you can all

Good Morning from a still cold Co Armagh
Letting my pills settle before I eat my porridge, then off to Mass , it’s lovely to see the children from the primary school there , they are so well behaved
The daffodils were well flattened yesterday , but most have popped up this morning , the ones with broken stems are in a vase
Roses I know you don’t want to share your health problems yet , but if you have one person you could trust it would be a good idea to have company at your appointment, I always find I can’t remember all I’ve been tol , and another pair of ears is a help afterwards when you are trying think what was said , but go with what you are comfortable with 💐

Good morning from a sunny but chilly NE.
Yesterday the weather was awful, very windy, hailstones and thunder and in between the sun shone.
Hope the earth doesn't move too much when you see the seismologist Mick 😄
Have a good day.

Greyduster Thu 26-Mar-26 08:27:49

Well thankyou Brook and FGT - it’s good to know it’s not just me. And yes it was scary for a while to be faced with a “computer says no” banking screen!! Seems ok now - just had to tinker with my Hive settings to kick start that one.

EkwaNimitee Thu 26-Mar-26 08:20:42

Good morning Mick and everybody from sunny but very frosty Carlisle.
Yesterday, I arrived back soon after 10am from Edinburgh where I'd gone for a bone scan on Monday. I decided to stay a couple of nights, can't do a day return from one of my favourite cities.
After the scan I checked into my hotel just above Princes Street and then went for a stroll up and down it. It was as busy I expected but not overly so.
Next day I took the bus up to the Botanic Gardens where I spent all morning wandering the lovely grounds. In the afternoon I planned to walk up and down the Royal Mile but I was struggling with another incipient infection affecting my ears and had probably overdone it in the Gardens. Spent most of the afternoon lying down with a book unfortunately.

Today I'm into town for a dental checkup, it will be more than that as a crown, which the dentist replaced some weeks ago, fell out just before my trip...as they do!
Then I must pay a visit to the M&S food hall and, finally, round to the opticians to get my latest prescription checked out. I think my new glasses are part of my vertigo problem, I felt really nauseous and swimmy headed after my short train trip back in spite of travel bands and pills...never happened before.
Even looking at the screen in front of me now is having a similar effect.

The rest of today will be spent catching up with the bed changing and laundry plus carrying on with my book.

I hope you all have a pleasant day.

I'm glad others had problems with accessing t'i
nternet yesterday. I did too. I put it down to a short power cut but perhaps not.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 26-Mar-26 08:06:16

Greyduster I couldn’t access my banking app yesterday which stressed me out as I was trying to complete the last of the admin I’ve had to do. Fortunately it’s up and running today so I shall be able to complete the last task. 😢 it’s had me anxious and sad in equal measure dealing ‘with it all’ but I’m almost there. A weight of my mind and I’ll be able to see the wood for the trees next week.

Our Yorkshire Lass sent me a message last night “so proud of you mum for completing all this ‘sadmin’ on your own”.

An apt play on words I thought. Described it all to a ‘T’. Thoughts to others dealing with this sad exercise. xx

Morning from a sunny S Hants, 4 degrees.
Yesterday the wind was so cold, I poked my nose out of the door, short walk, then scuttled back in.
My daughter is calling in later, delayed from yesterday and a friend coming for coffee soon after.
Good there’s action Roses I do hope answers and a plan will be as swift.
Pretty nails bellas.
Enjoy meet ups, trips out or just quietly cogitating.

Good morning from North Leicestershire- about 5 miles from dragonfly - where it is also bright and chilly.

Not a lot happening here this morning. I had an eye injection yesterday so have to be careful until lunch time.

After lunch, the village writing group are holding a meeting where they showcase their writing. It's always a fun, social afternoon. Sainsbury's delivery between 5 and 6.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Have a good day everyone whatever your plans.☀️

madeleine45 Thu 26-Mar-26 07:37:46

Good morning Mick and all GN's from a bright still quite sunny but cold morning in North Yorkshire. I have been wrestling with my bp machine and it has taken me nearly half an hour to get it all right, following instructions. You have to do two readings that are similar to each other only today they were up and down like a yoyo. Only hope that as I get more used to using it it becomes easier. Ah well done it now so can now have much needed coffee, and wonderful Bach has calmed me more.

Yesterday was a mix of good and bad. The weather was bright but a very strong gusty cold wind, and my newly washed hair which looked quite nice when I left the house looked like a scarecrow or someone who had had an electric shock by the time I had gone down the market on the yellow peril. The cold wind really took your breath away and it was bitter being out on the buggy but got what I needed and then home to tidy up and get ready for our lunch out. That was very good and enjoyable, but when we came back to the car, there was a parking fine sticker, and I thought they had ignored the blue badge but no . The car in front in the next parking bay was sticking out into the one we were parked in, so we were a little further back and the rear of the car jutted out over a dropped kerb, Now as a user of dropped kerbs I am quite passionate about keeping them clear and so was both embarrassed and annoyed that this had happened, but that did take the pleasure of the lunch down a little.

The afternoon was spent doing mundane jobs in the flat and then off to whist last night. A lovely drive in daylight now with lots of daffodils being blown about by the wind so very "wordsworth"
Today . No prizes but a very enjoyable evening with again a full room of players. Unfortunately , the one man ,who still is playing so badly, yet refusing to take any notice of advice or any sense of learning the meanings of particular layout, was there. He was causing much irritation , upsetting his partners by ignoring what they were doing, and when he played with me as my partner overtrumped my already winning card. We are all very happy to help newcomers and forgive our partners for occasional lapses and mistakes but this is something else. You just have no idea what he is going to do next, so even the kindest lady, who I have never heard say a bad word in all the time I have been there, was making comments . Ah well it makes the rest of us seem better players.

Today I now need to get the bedding into the washer and started, fingers crossed that I can get itout before the promised rain this afternoon. Then while it is still dry and pleasant I hope to meet a friend for coffee and be back before lunch as the cleaners should be here this afternoon. My bedroom looks very good at the moment after all my efforts but the lounge is a mess and I have so many lots of paperwork and bits that I need to sort out, that I must make some inroads into this before they come or I can see I shall end up mixing things up. Most important of that is to contact the bus people to renew my bus pass as with the mixture of fuel prices going up and hopefully better weather ahead I want to try to sort out some possible trips on the bus, if I can sort out taking my fold up buggy with me. It should go into a luggage rack folded up and might allow me to go out when I really cannot walk far. That is something to explore and check out for the future, so bus pass sorted is the first thing.

Mick hope you get to the hospital early and get seen quickly with good results. Hope your trip goes well grandMattie. RosesandLilac I have admired your lovely embroidery, Havent done any for years but seeing your lovely things I might dig out my things if I can find them and have a go myself. GrandmaBatty you seemed to have a very full day yesterday. I have never tried any classes with zoom but once I get to grips with it , I might try some art classes . Art and music have been my main things throughout my life and I have rather missed doing any art over the last couple of years as opposed to visiting many art exhibitions and galleries. Well now the weather is hopefully improving the garden and getting outside will be more to the fore but I think I shall get my small sketch book out and take it with me to spur me on.

I do hope the day goes well for everyone and plans made actually come to fruition .Enjoy whatever you can that cheers your day

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and sunny, yesterdays snow has gone but it’s still very cold at about 2°
Beautiful nails Bellas
Enjoy your get together Ash and Marzipan!
We had a few internet problems too yesterday greyduster but it seems ok this morning
This afternoon I’m travelling to a hotel not far from Inverness for a line dancing weekend. It’s run by the same instructor that does the classes at the gym so a lot of the same ladies will be there. It’s a nice hotel so apart from the enjoyable dancing and socialising, there’s the nice food and drink and some spare time to maybe do a couple of local walks if the weather is ok
Roses ❤️
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Goood morning all and it’s bright, sunny but chilly here in Essex.

Yesterday that wind was bone chilling 🥶. I walked up to town , mooched around the market and did M and S, then walked/run back down the hill , being blown this way and that.,

I got home just as Dh and his pal had returned from breakfast at the golf club, to find them making coffee and having a croissant each.,😳.
I joined them in the conservatory which warmed me up nicely.

Today I have bowls club , then on to get petrol and do some more shopping.

Brother should be home from hospital today 🤞and I aim to go and see him at the weekend.

Take it easy 🌺

Good morning from sunny and chilly Leicestershire.

Coffee with a friend this morning who has just had her bunion surgery. She can’t move much until the end of the month then will need to wear a boot for 6 months!
This afternoon we have an appointment with the podiatrist.

I too have been thinking about you Roses and I can quite understand that you want to go to your appointment alone.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Marzipan22 Thu 26-Mar-26 07:24:19

Good morning from a bright, calm Torquay. It's lovely waking to a sea view but I'm missing my robins a bit. 😄 I trundled around the town yesterday, in and out of charity shops, had lunch in Wetherspoons for a change 😂 and then caught a bus to Brixham, which is like St Ives and Newlyn combined, very pretty. This gull had attitude, but then don't they all?

Off on a bus to wherever this morning and then meeting a Gransnetter and her husband this afternoon. See you later Ash, yippee! 🥳

cornergran Thu 26-Mar-26 07:23:45

Morning Mick, morning All from a cool corner of Somerset. A dry day ahead.

Another full day with our friends yesterday, we’ve had a thoroughly good time and it will seem very quiet without them when they head home later today.

Best wishes to all. Have the best day you can everyone.

Liberty Thu 26-Mar-26 07:22:42

Good morning from a bright sunny Suffolk where I expect it will be chilly outside. It’s an earlier start for me as DH has an 8am appt at the hospital in Norwich where he is taking part in some research.

I need to walk the little dog before heading off to my stretch class. We are not used to these early morning starts but the light and sun certainly help.

I hope the appt next week Roses give you a plan health wise for the future which is reassuring.

The little dog is suspicious of this unusual start to the day so must get myself together and get outside.

Hope today is a positive one for all.

Grammaretto Thu 26-Mar-26 07:20:25

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's bright outside.

I drove my friend to the hospital in Clydebank yesterday. We left early but with a mix of snow, roadworks in Glasgow and a wrongly set satnav it took us all our time.
Coming home via the beautiful Lanarkshire countryside was much easier.

I'm tired today but have yoga this morning and dancing tonight and lots of house things to attend to.

I am glad you are not being kept waiting for long Roses. I hope you don't have to be alone.

Have the best day possible everyone.

luluaugust Thu 26-Mar-26 07:20:07

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Art group first thing, last until May and then we are meeting DH’s ex boss and his wife for lunch. They are both mid 80’s now and it is up to me to keep the conversation going, not easy as I don’t hear very well in restaurants.
Roses glad you have a quick appointment.
Hope all the days out go well
