Harrington, how sad. 💐
Harrigran 💐
harrigran …I’m very sorry, how upsetting losing a friend so unexpectedly like that.
I too was sorry to read your news harrigran. It is such a shock to receive that kind of phone call.
Good morning from a sunny but refreshingly windy Torquay. Awfully late for me! This is positively my final day here, after another comfy night in a Premier Inn bed. Yesterday I took the bus to Dawlish, crossing the bridge at Teignmouth with water on both sides. I love Dawlish for the juxtaposition with the rail track and the beach - such an interesting contrast. Ambled around the pretty little town and then caught a train back to Torquay. The track ran along the estuary edge for half the journey, which was unexpected and picturesque. I wasn't tired enough to sleep all night and watched the harbour lights twinkling from my fourth floor room at 3am. I drank tea and read an Agatha Christie book while the town slept. And here is the grande dame herself immortalised in bronze by the harbour.
I may stop off at quirky Totnes on the way home if I can be bothered to lug around my suitcase and a bag full of charity shop jigsaws. 😄
.
Harrigran what a terrible shock for you and your dear friend’s family. I just want to add my sincere condolences too. 💐
Good morning all from a od breezy Co Armagh
Isn’t nature amazing , everything is flowering in spite of the cold , I put my coat on ad inspected everything , my big cherry is building up to break out into a froth of pink, just as the mini cherrys are shedding their bloom in the scurrying winds
I’m not sewing tomatoes this year, I have been promised plants , but if I see my fav in the garden center I might get one
I’ve spilt my tea ,!!
Hope today I’d good for all
Sorry to hear your sad news harrigran 💐
Condolences harrigran, the loss of a good friend is awful and the suddenness in this case is extra difficult. How lovely that she sent you an ‘I’m thinking about you’ gift last week, a last loving message to treasure x
Good that she’s a hardy Northerner FGT - it’s Baltic here today, with a cold wind too.
Sending my condolences harrigran what a shock for you and her family 💐
Sad news harrigran, my condolences. Such a shock. Look after yourself.
Persie was less than a year old when I joined GN kitty. I lurked for a long while before being brave enough to post.

Georgesgran our Yorkshire Lass and her husband are over in Durham celebrating their 3rd wedding anniversary this weekend!
Harri sorry, I had not read your previous post. Condolences on the sad and sudden loss of you friend.💐
💐Harrigran. Unexpected and sad.
Good morning to everyone.
DD3 came round after school to show us their new family vehicle yesterday. It’s a rather large VW 7 seater Tayron (seats in the boot area fold away). There was a tablet type device built in on the dash and no handbrake or gears. It all looked very futuristic but I thought what happens if a software failure occurs. Our VW is 14 years old and has still done less than 100,000 miles. It is an automatic as is the new Tayron. When DH was still working he got taxis and trains everywhere and I mostly only did 30 miles or less on a journey. As it never goes wrong we haven’t been incentivised to change it. But as it’s a sports model Passat I’m finding it very hard to get in and out of with my dodgy hip. DH would never buy an EV.
Today we are meeting my sister and her DH for Sunday Lunch at Shefford Woodlands, not far from the M4. They are staying there overnight on their way to Cornwall on Monday morning. They live in East Sussex so a long journey for them.
I’m glad you both had a good meet-up Ash and Marzipan. I thought it might be you but then thought not as you are some way down in Cornwall. I’d forgotten you are having a break in Devon.
I’m pleased you’ve sorted some help out Roses. Your sister sounded quite rude.
Have a good weekend all.
harrigran sorry to read about your friend it’s always a shock
harrigran
Goodness me kitty, Persie is 13, I can remember the day she was born. You told us you got the phone call and jumped in the car and went to look after your GS while they went to the hospital.
You have a good memory, Harrigran. That's exactly how it happened and they were back before we knew it.
Good morning from a windy Sunnyside sandhills, northwest coast.
I was better pleased with my efforts at the art group yesterday, producing some water colour Easter cards. Some of the group painted eggs.
After a shop and fill up with petrol, I enjoyed a panini in town and returned for a concert dress trying on session for opera concert tonight. I’ve grown out of a couple, but with a sequin jacket, have found a nice solution. Now to put everything in a folder and see where I’m going!
DD sent photos of her day at Champneys, don’t fancy a spa day myself, but it looked nice.
I’m on neighbour’s cat feeding duty. A very shy, sweet cat, unlike her sibling, with me, who is cheekier.
Hope your innards have calmed down Mick, thoughts to Roses and all🌺
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it looks chilly out but the sun is shining. Alexa says only 8°C today, brr!
I have L’il Miss coming over later this morning. We will enjoy our mooch in the square, taking our time and buying some pocket money things. Then a coffee for me in Starbucks, juice for my darling girl then up here to play awhile.
This evening I’m invited to join them all for a meal at the Lebanese restaurant round the corner. It’s been there ages but Himself never really fancied it so we didn’t go - but the family all love it and I’m looking forward to trying it.
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but showers are expected around lunchtime, so hope I can avoid them on my visit to the shops.
Back to dance classes yesterday after a two month break, (due to knee injury and holidays). I managed three classes, but found myself at a disadvantage as lots of new stuff had been learnt while I was away. Several new complicated steps, especially in the tap class, and I found myself having to stumble through the Charleston!
Had a restful afternoon, catching up with the newspaper, and only rice to cook and curry to reheat for my dinner.
A visit to the shops later this morning, needing something for dinner tonight, possibly a nice steak. I also need Easter cards, and a new baby card, as one of my neighbours has just had a little boy. I may also browse the clothes in Sainsbury's and Next....
Wishing all a pleasant Saturday.
