Changes in taxation that Andy Burnham seems to be interested in
Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark but cold start here in Brackley this morning.
A day of doing housework and laundry awaits for me today , plus adjusting my body to clock change .
I will watch some cycling on TV later as well.
Health OK,
Take Care<
Mick

I agree. I expect Aldom was on the wrong thread. Easily done. Your thread was absolutely fine. Try and put it out of your mind.
I saw a post on another thread this morning. I think it was a thread from the past and resurrected . I thought at the time that will be reported. I cant remember which post it was. Could have been on Health.
I wondered that to Utbb. Nothing offensive in your post and there hasn't been one deleted as it would say so.
I suspect Aldom has posted on the wrong thread.
I quite agree uttb. I could find nothing offensive in yours and wondered why it had been reported.
Perhaps that should be made clear then as I think it usually is.
I am quite upset that it appears to refer to my post.
Maybe the offending post has been removed. Not your post at all UTBB
Why has my post been reported.
How have I offended?
Reported the above post.
Good morning from yet another damp day in Stockport.
I had , for me, a busy day yesterday.
My GS4 arrived for the two week school holiday, due to a difficult family situation he lives with his elder brother while his middle brother lives here with his dad.
However we have him every weekend and school holidays.
Then the oldest one arrived with his partner and their two little girls, my GGD’s.
We don’t see them often but the 2 year old was delightful and played happily with a tea set I had bought for her.
I then went out for a lovely meal with my GD and her BF , a busy but good day.
A quiet one today when I must start to plan clothes to get ready as I am off next Friday to meet up with my D and GD2 for an Easter break.
Kindest thoughts to all.
A wet and windy hello from Co Armagh
Just back from Mass , it was to be a very long Ceremony but we had , as my neighbour whispered , the shortened version of the short version !
Called at the shop on the way home to get milk , bought crème eggs and oat biscuits and forgot the milk ! Oh well black tea is ok in Holy Week
The rain seems to be stopping so I hope we all have a peaceful day 🌷
Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Opera concert went well last night, considering we were under rehearsed, I remembered my wordy piece but the hall was cold.non to drinks afterwards and I’m off now by train to a matinee symphony concert with pianist friend who told me recently that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Very sad and explains things I have noticed about him.
Thoughts to all🌺
Good morning from a miserable, grey Durham. Yesterday was wild, with heavy hailstones and gale force winds.
I’m still feeling below par and taking things easy, so I’m not going to watch DGS1 play rugby, standing outside in the cold doesn’t appeal just yet.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning everyone and happy Palm Sunday from an overcast Northampton; showers expected from early afternoon.
Yesterday stayed dry, so I had a pleasant outing to the shops, although I nearly got blown away as it was so windy. Essentials bought - a lovely steak from M&S, which I had half of last night - can't manage an 8oz steak any more, so the other half is in the freezer. I browsed the clothes in Next and Sainsbury's, and was sorely tempted, but thought of my bursting wardrobe, and resisted....
I have ordered a new pair of orange sandals from Pavers..... my current pair of orange/coral ones have been worn so many times they are looking their age!
Home in the afternoon and watched rugby on tv while reading my Saturday newspaper. Over dinner time I watched my beloved Northampton Saints beat Saracens with a last minute try and conversion. COYS! 💚💛🏉
No plans for today; a bacon and saute potatoes brunch, then gammon for dinner, which will last me another couple of days.
Wishing all a pleasant Sunday.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from murky South Yorkshire - at least the wind has dropped. Gosh I’m late to the party today - I slept like a top last night. It was so windy yesterday that I abandoned sowing the seeds I have bought - it was not a day for sieving compost!! If it stays dry I shall try again today. I cleaned the two shower rooms out instead. We have large rainhead showers and I love them but they are a pain to clean - I had to stand on a stool. Late afternoon I took my binoculars and had a walk down to the river - sometimes there’s a kingfisher down there but sadly not yesterday. It was too cold and windy to stand around and wait for him!
Today? Who knows. A trip to the supermarket to buy some wine, for certain, and then a gentle day catching up with books probably.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Doozy not dooby!
Good morning from cool, damp and breezy Dublin.
We had a lovely afternoon yesterday with many of my cousins and my aunts and uncle at the house of one of the aunts.
This morning DD is coming to Mass with me then we’re joining my brother and sister for brunch when we will decide what to do for the rest of the day.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning Palm Sunday from a very wet Glasgow.
I have had a night of weird dreams, not helped by my high pain levels. I tried to get up for the loo, but my lower back and hips have seized up.
Yesterday was so busy at the Vigil Mass, we couldn't get a minute's peace, due to constant interruptions. Going by the number of palms, we used, there must have been about 600 people there.
We will probably use another 600 palms at 10am Mass and the remaining ones at the 11.30am and 5pm Masses. Our congregation is growing very fast.
I won brownie points with some of the elderly parishioners, for giving them palms, which were already made into a cross. I had ordered them especially, for the priests to take to the care homes, but those with not so nimble fingers, were struggling.
I told them they were receiving them, because they were part of the parish clique. and esteemed members of the congregation. They thought this was very funny.
We had the very long Gospel yesterday, after a procession, for which I had needed an extra reader. A very difficult parishioner volunteered (she drives me mad, with her constant emails and texts) and appeared, demanding to know if she was still reading and which part was hers.
I explained again, ( having already had ten messages from her on Friday) , but she demanded the narrators role, saying she should have a script, highlighted with her part. She had a beautiful leather bound book to read from, but that wasn't good enough.
Despite advising her, that she was not the narrator, she followed me about the sacristy, having a tirade about the other reader, always getting principal readings.
The young sacristan was becoming more and more annoyed.
Then, I suddenly remembered, that toilet rolls were required.
I was hiding in the toilet, when the door burst open and the other reader rushed in.
She is a very gentle lady, whose son was my son's best friend all through school. I have never seen her angry, but she was fuming.
She had received a number of texts from the same lady, I was hiding from, demanding that my friend give up her role as narrator, because she would be better at it.
The young curate was highly amused at the thought of us hiding in the toilet.
I had to take painkillers before Mass, I had a blinding headache, due to her behaviour.
When it came her turn to read, she forgot to come on the altar!!!
She is so single minded and can only see her own point of view.
The best thing that happened, was I was late joining the congregation and there was DIL, her first public outing in ten weeks.💗
I was so late home, because all the tasks we do for the coming week, had to be done after Mass, due to the time spent dealing with her. I was not a happy bunny.
Also tickets were needing printing and cutting for a forthcoming event.
I had decided, not to use my own printer, but the photocopier.
I was afraid, I would jam it, as I was using card.
The young sacristan kindly cut out the tickets, because my hands were so painful.😍
He is the reason, I can keep going. He does all the heavy work.
A gentle Sunday is planned, I am so tired. The roast chicken is made, so not much to do.
I stopped on the way home for takeaway, I was wiped out and couldn't face cooking.
Roses, I was glad to read, that you have something to look forward to.💐
Wishing you all a gentle day.
Morning from a chilly S Hants. Happy Birthday to your husband lulu 🎂.
Had a limited tidy up yesterday, so a couple of callers expected today to collect items given away. I’ll be putting a colour on my hair before I have a shower in a while.
It’ll be a windy cold day, so TV catch-up with roast chicken for dinner.
🦩🦩
Good morning from a sunny Suffolk which will,no doubt,be very chilly outdoors.
In spite of an early night we have only just got up so I’ll read your posts with my first cuppa.
I think the many daffodils in our garden are bigger, better and more than ever before. Some bulbs which we bought at least 20 years ago in Cornwall seem to have been dormant for the last few years but now are in full bloom…wonderful to see.
We have nothing planned today so will enjoy a peaceful time enjoying reading and relaxing after the morning dog walk.
Brrrr. Good morning from a cold grey N. Surrey. I too am looking forward to The Other Bennett Sister. I haven't so looked forward to a tv series for many years. It is perfecf in every way.
I will start the clock changing ceremony aftee a 2nd coffee. I am not affected by the time change at all and will be enjoying the longer lighter evenings of Spring and Summer irrespective of the actual time. I am early to bed early to rise as well.
I may give the grass its 2nd cut of the year or just a good rake over. Enjoy your day all.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp out but doesn’t seem as cold. No frost on the rooftops anyway. Alexa woke me up at 8am with the alarm I always set (just in case no idea really it’s a new thing for me and I always wake before it anyway 🤷♀️) but of course it was really only 7am.
I drive myself nuts the next few days converting the time in my head to old money.
I’m minding L’il Miss later. We stay in on Sundays after giving my purse a battering (not joking either yesterday was a dooby) while the Boy Wonder plays football. He was telling me last night in the pub that if they beat Knutsford today, they’ve won the league with 3 games still in hand.
I’m invited over to theirs for a roast dinner at teatime with pink Möet too - they’re marking a small celebration. So a nice day ahead, lucky me.
Oh and Marydoll not wanting to make you jealous but look what I found in Home Bargains for my stepfather yesterday! His favourites. He’ll be delighted when I see him in the week.
Good morning all from a dull but dry Black country.
I was woken up by police sirens 3 cars went speeding past, they use our road to avoid the lights.
No plans for today, there is a bit of ironing looking my way but nothing that's needed so no rush.
Gammon for dinner.
Happy Birthday to your DH luluaugust 🎂🎉 and best wishes for anyone else celebrating.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.
Good morning from Sheffield
I feel a little bit tired and achy after my shingles and pneumonia vaccine on Friday so I’m not going do much today
We may have a run out to a garden centre or something
We are going away for a few days on Thursday so I may make a start on gathering things for that
I too am a bit disappointed with my prayer group at my local church
It used to be a time of prayer and learning. We have a new vicar and also a retired vicar has joined the group. It has turned into a catch up conversation about what they are doing and about the previous Sunday service. I haven’t been for a couple of weeks . I shall go tomorrow and see what it’s like
Take care everyone
Happy birthday to your dh LuluAugust. I hope he has a nice day
