Yesterday we had a massive march believed to be 500.000 people in London against the Far Right and not a word on here, vey little on the news and way way down towards the bottom on the BBC news page
I ve put this in chat as I m not looking for hard politics or arguments but I m proud of the people marching against the rise of the far right, against the division and hatred that is currently being spewed out by Farage and friends
Well done London and all the people who travelled to give out a message of togetherness, of kindness, of inclusion.

The police say it was a fraction of that number, more like 50,000.
Am sure the marchers felt euphoric but what does it achieve?
Nothing.

sixahalf you do realise that the photos from this demonstration yesterday didn’t place it in the UK? It could have been anywhere. So if it’s okay with you, a whinge about St George is quite minor considering the loss of British identity currently being approved of by the msm.

Thank you for letting me know - I missed the news last night

Fab news.

It will be interesting to see which Sunday newpapers feature it or ignore it ? any reports?

Cossy yes you are right about Musk - what I should say that there’s far too much foreign interference in the UK altogether both left and right.

I agree! One only has to look at Trump to see the damage this does.

However, as this isn’t meant as a political post, I applaud these marchers, (against the far right) and say boo to the media for not covering it more fully.

Couldn’t help but wonder where were the Union Flags and St George’s Cross flags?? Was this really the future of the UK? Iranian and Palestinian flags but not our own plus of course a video from Elon Musk. What’s not to like?

That's your take away? Whinging about the St George?

I’ll be astonished if the Elon Musk video was in support of the March against the far right, Musk has thus far supported Yaxley and his mob!

Well done all who marched, including some acquaintances of mine.

ronib Sun 29-Mar-26 08:20:24

It’s not only the Union Flag which needs reclaiming…. Basic common sense has gone walk about in the UK.

Ronib unfortunately our flag has been used and abused by the Far Right hate mob, so it may take a little while for us to reclaim it

Yes, and in a march against the far right it would be strange if the opposition to it used the same symbols. In the event of media coverage it would look as though Yaxley Lennon and his mob had all the support.

I agree.
I am proud to live in the UK but the far right politicising the flag has taken away the joy I previously felt at seeing it flown.

What a wonderfully encouraging start to Palm Sunday BlueBelle! Thank you .

I hadn't heard anything about this. Thanks BlueBelle for this thread. It's good to know that so many people feel the same as I do.

I saw this on the news when I was browsing sleeplessly in the early hours. It was the first I’d heard. I was heartened too - it made me think of Cable Street.

If others hadn’t heard either it would explain why there was no thread. I don’t think it means nobody cared.

Yaxley Lennon was leading a march too - maybe media silence was to discourage trouble?

Ashcombe Sun 29-Mar-26 07:50:37

Thank you for sharing this, BlueBelle. 🙏
