A few days later these marches are forgotten about.Especially one which espouses myriad causes.

It is indeed a human need for most humans to feel that they “belong” How sad then when you happen to be a displaced person or unable to safely stay in your country of birth, and then discover no other country wants you either!

I think our PM is a left leaning centralist.

I believe Farage & co are to the right of right.

I too subscribe to the belief that’s no one nation is superior to another, I’d like to subscribe to the belief that no humans are superior to others but …… Mmm evidence may suggest otherwise

The far right is terrifying, the far left is terrifying, religious fanaticism is terrifying - extremism of any kind needs to be called out because of its horrendous consequences, so even if the march were only 50,000 as Oreo reports the police saying, or 500,000 as Bluebelle believes, the achievement is such that some people, somewhere, are making visible the feeling that for them and countless others what the far right ascribe to is not OK and that's a good thing. That's what it achieves.

Nothing wrong with displaying your national flag. Something wrong with disrespecting and debasing it. Something totally horrendous about seeing fascists waving it. Reminds me of the much publicised picture of the idiot wearing a poppy on Remembrance Sunday with a swastika tattooed on his neck in full view to all.

I think that, if I were living in a different country from my country of birth but some halfwitted corrupt National leader were bombing the hell out of my birth country for no valid reason I would, regardless of its regime, be happy to wave its national flag in support of it.

The hatred and scorn disclosed on this thread for other nationals, for people who want to make a point about unity and for people who have differing opinions, is quite disturbing.
