How can I get motivated? Just back from a long weekend at Minehead Butlins with family and I'm all grannied out!

Is having a rest an option?

V3ra Wed 01-Apr-26 08:36:44

Collapse in a heap and give yourself a well-deserved day or two off!
Serious suggestion, you've earned it 😁

Whingey Wed 01-Apr-26 08:47:07

Thanks.yes I can rest

Having done Butlinā€s the last two summers with GC, the first thing I do when walking in the door is shower and then a very large wine.

It’s non stop fun (for the little ones anyway 😹) put your feet up and do nothing…

Yep as others have said hit the snooze button and forget motivation. You have earned a supa dupa granny rest.
Well done.

Another vote for Rest and Relax! Nothing more taxing than filling the teapot and deciding which box set to binge on. Oh, and cakegrin

If you've just been to Butlins with family, I imagine not wanting to do ANYTHING is normal! smile

Dedicate a whole day to Virgin River and tea! Weather's rubbish, anyway. Enjoy!

Is there anything immediate that you HAVE to get motivated for? If not just award youself a rest.

That sounds like an exhausting weekend. Just need a few days of doing nothing much at all.

VANECAM Wed 01-Apr-26 11:49:01

Is this an advert?

I can think of almost nothing more exhausting than a weekend of ā€˜fun’ with grandchildren. I think you most definitely need a holiday never mind a day off! Hopefully you did enjoy the weekend.

I’d sooner stick pins in my eyes than go to Butlins……….have a few days off OP, plenty of fluids (travel can dehydrate) and I’m sure you’ll soon be back to normal.

Don’t even THINK about doing anything… Rest, read/ watch TV … whatever is your tipple!
You deserve to pamper yourself after all that, lovely tho grandchildren are I can’t wait for them to leave sometimes! Let alone go on holiday with them and family!
You will eventually regain your mojo … but rest first …a lot. Just do the essentials like eat, sleep and RELAX.

I live locally so only do a day at Butlins. That's enough to wear me out for a couple of days. A whole break...... give yourself a couple of days off.

labazs Thu 02-Apr-26 15:53:28

fave TV, tea or glass of wine, soak in the bath RELAX!

Gaga5 Thu 02-Apr-26 18:54:28

Virgin River my go to for rest and relaxation !

The Other Bennet Sister or Small Prophets on IPlayer, maybe some Gardeners’ World and a nice calming seed catalogue? Order in some fancy M&S food and drink via Ocado if it’s not too late! If too late, fetch pizza, gin and Easter Egg from corner shop. Stay home till Tuesday
