Good morning from sunny and dry s somerset

Bread production this morning, one special wholemeal in my bm with wholemeal grains, seeds and flowers. The second is a sourdough which actually rises more every time I make it, that one has been in the fridge overnight and will be ready to bake at around 10am

Soup making is in process, I do like the calm steady chopping of veg into small pieces, I will add beans to that soup. My hm tofu is being pressed in the fridge and I added a chopped fig to my hm strained kefir yesterday, to help it with secondary fermentation, it does that in my fridge, makes it sweeter

I want to go cycling but dare not risk my road bike yet, the ground is too full of grit and gravel and sharp bits. I will take my sturdy heavier hybrid bike out, there is a local water area I want to explore, it has a good tarmac track all around it and is somewhat hilly

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently-1° and frosty. There's a lovely blue sky to make up for the shock of the cold. Bellasnana good news that the travellers have arrived. GrandMattie you are an absolute star. How you achieve so much is beyond me. Cornergran I'm sorry to hear that you have so many worries. Here's a hug from me. I'm another who has noticed Pantglas is missing. I hope she comes back soon.
Yesterday went fairly well. I did a little tidying in the school library and had a chat with those who were there. On my way in, there was a shout of "Grandma!" Dgs2 and his crew came hurtling across to the fence to say hello. I think I'm the nursery grandma!😂
Afterwards I visited my friend's partner. We had a good chat. I havent seen him for ages snd felt quite guilty. Hopefully I'll visit him again soon. I tried to arrange my car to go in to be fixed for today but that isn't possible, so it's arranged for next Thursday instead. I remembered to go to Next for the clothes for the boys.
Today I will get cleaning and sort out the dining room for Sunday lunch. I might clean the fridge too- the job I hate the most. Dinner will be out of the freezer. I'm trying to running down to defrost it. Have a good day all.

Good morning all from another greyish morning in North Leicestershire.

Earlyish start for me as I am helping at the Memory Cafe this morning. Sainsbury's delivery at teatime.

Our gardener came yesterday - she makes such a difference.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from the Sheffield.

We will set off on our break at 12 when we have finished working.
I think we may stop off in Pontefract for small wander before we get to our destination in East Yorkshire
We were going to take our electric bikes but as we’ve both been a bit off it, I don’t think will tempt fate.
We will just do some wandering around towns , some country walks and a lot of resting

I have a new crochet project to take with me . It is a long boho cardigan made out of squares.
My daughter tactfully said that she wondered when I would wear it as she didn’t know when she would wear it. I did point out to her, but I wasn’t making it for her to wear grin

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from a fine and dry Torbay.

This morning I have a telephone consultation with my cardiologist when he should report on the echocardiogram I had last month. I shall discuss my recent sudden weight increase as I think it might be caused by fluid retention. A year ago I was put on a water tablet but that was short lived as it rapidly depleted my sodium levels and I ended up being rather ill and in hospital for a week!

This afternoon I’ve been invited to a farewell gathering at my previous church for the manager of the preschool. I used to be chairman of the committee there and she came to our wedding celebration at the theatre.

Migraine can indicate various things, WhiteSwan63 so I hope you soon have some advice, perhaps from your GP initially.

Wishing you all a good day. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning Mick and all GN's from a rather dark still cold morning in North Yorkshire. Doesnt bode well for the rest of the day weather wise. I want to get the washing on but rather hobbling about, yet more cramp this morning, but not as bad as yesterday, so hope that sitting down for a little while will improve matters.

Yesterday it was a very slow start, however I did finally get the yellow peril out and went to the market with a couple of bags to get odd bits. I treated myself to a coffee in Neros to galvanise myself into traipsing round Tesco. I had forgotten that they were doing their 15p a pound veg offer , and so got various things including some nice looking broccoli so soon filled up my bag with quite heavy stuff. It was busy and now they have made 3 tills for self service only,it diminishes the ordinary tills which had quite long queues, as round here very few people were choosing to use the self service and card only. They had very few takers and there was no way I could have used it even if I had wanted to.

So eventually got home, and did really want to go out and do a bit more in the garden, but was not in a state to manage it and there was no one around and so didnt dare try in case I got stuck and couldnt get up. I plodded on sorting the shopping out and putting stuff away and getting a meal etc., and then it was off to whist.

A very pleasant evening for me, but no possibility of any prizes or raffle either. I had some odd hands and most of the evening was doing that "one before" where you have quite a lot of the previous hands trumps , which of course is now no use. However played to the best of my ability and enjoyed seeing friends . For once even the very lucky Edward didnt get a single prize , a rarity. So home and very weary so didnt even attempt any tidying up and off to bed.

Consequently this morning I need to get the washing in and get a bit organised as hopefully the cleaners will be here this afternoon, and will accomplish more in an hour than I am now able to do all day!! Today I intend to have a real look for my passport , which it is annoying me as I have searched all the normal possibilities. The forecast for the weather is definitely downhill at the moment and the actual Easter weekend worse still. With the forecast and the cost of fuel I am sorry for people who have organised events, as I dont think they will do well. I have no plans to venture out anywhere particular but we shall see.

Hope you have a good trip into Bicester today Mick.Hope you have a successful shopping trip GrandMattie. Your FAB cafe bop sounds great but must be exhausting for you. Bellasnana , good to hear the travellers arrived safely and hope you can relax a bit now, and find something to enjoy today. Whiteswan hope the day goes well and you avoid any more migraines today.

Well dont think the weather is going to improve much but I may put my coat on later and go daffodil patrol as from here I can see some more daffodil heads drooping. It will get me outside for a little while at any rate and is a job where you can see where you have been immediately which cheers. If only you could see a great difference when you have slogged at tidying up!

Hope the day goes well for everyone and you find something to cheer the day as you go

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is barely light and very chilly. I slept reasonably well last night - probably because I stayed up a little later watching tv.

Yesterday’s writers group was not very well attended, it being the school holidays, but we had a discussion about how our individual writing styles have evolved over the years. It has been a huge learning curve for me and I don’t have the body of work that others have - this group has been going for over twenty years - but I see an improvement in my own efforts and that’s what it is all about. I called in the supermarket on the way home to get some wine and fruit, and a Lindt bunny for my niece’s little GD. To be honest I am loathe to buy Easter eggs as the ratio of cardboard packaging to actual chocolate now is a shameful waste of money.

Walking group this morning and lunch with DD before they go up to the Yorkshire Dales for a few days. The intention is to climb Pen-y-Ghent, but I hope they will be sensible about the weather conditions tomorrow. They are experienced hill walkers but you never know quite what to expect up there at this time of year.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from Kent where it is eight degrees.

I stayed up to watch the launch of Artemis II yesterday so I am surprised I'm awake. Those astronauts are so brave.

Today's plan is to sow some more seeds. I have some tomato seeds which I've been meaning to sow all week. Last year there were a couple of weeks where I had so many tomatoes growing on the vine that I think I could have fed the entire village.

DH and I are going away for a long weekend, staying with AC.

Wishing all a blessed Easter.

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is due a dry day with some sunshine.

Plodded through what had to be done yesterday while fretting about our goddaughter who after an accident was taken to A and E with suspected concussion. Thankfully all was well. Spent some time checking on two local friends, one the age of our sons is having intensive treatment for cancer, the other is fresh from diagnosis and waiting a treatment plan.

We’re heading out for breakfast this morning then perhaps on to our local NT in hope a trip out will perform a re-set. I’ve been very down emotionally and physically, worries crowding in, no company for anyone. I’m sure a day in the promised sun will help.

Good news Bulgaria was reached without mishap bellasnana, less good news about mess to clear. Grandmattie you’re Wonder Woman.

Wishing everyone the best day it can be.

WhiteSwan63 Thu 02-Apr-26 06:04:35

Good morning from the east coast. I am up early as I need to be at DDs in an hour. I have my DGD1 for the day so we will drop GD2 at nursery. We have to tell GD2 that her sister is helping me with shopping today so she’ll go to nursery though she does love it. We will pick her up this afternoon earlier than usual. GD1 and I will potter around and she has requested the amusements and McDonalds. I will take her to the park too and maybe feed the ducks. She always makes a friend wherever she goes so she’s very easy to look after.

As I’ve been up since four am 🤦 I will be shattered tonight. DH is used to me going to bed at 9-30 now. I was taken out for an Indian last night so frosty relations have defrosted now a little in our White Swan nest.

My migraines auras are still with me I had two yesterday. I don’t know whether to go to the Drs or wait till after my eye test on the 16th. Yesterday one was while I was at my mums so I had to wait for it to go before I could drive home. She never knew I suffered with migraines. I’m hoping it’s just stress or needing new glasses and nothing more serious. Time will tell.

I’m going to get my porridge now so I hope your day will have moments of joy🌼
Thoughts to friends suffering stress, anxiety and sadness. 💐

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I wish I could sleep more. I have a hectic day ahead starting with a 6 mile walk.

I hope the weather is good and everyone has something nice to look forward to.

Good morning from Malta where the sun is most definitely not shining. It is raining and the forecast is for a cloudy, wet day with a high of 11°C.

In answer to Glammagran, houses in Malta generally do not have central heating as we so rarely need it. Most of us have air-conditioners which can blow hot air as well but I don’t like the stuffy heat they give and prefer to use a gas heater for the few days when it’s really cold.

DS, his partner and the cat Winston arrived at their home in Bulgaria at around 6pm so I heaved a sigh of relief. I was so worried the car wouldn’t make it but I should have had more faith.

The boys seem to have enjoyed their first trip on a plane but I haven’t heard from them yet, just saw a photo on FB.

Milo is not impressed with the weather and is reluctant to go out at all so we have had three 💩’s so far in the spare room. Fortunately it’s a tiled floor but I’m still not thrilled about it.🤬

grandMattie you do so much, how do you do it?! I am totally idle by comparison but there again I can’t cope with a lot of people at once, hence I’ve never been keen on joining groups as I find it draining and need a day to recover!🫣

Thinking of you all and hoping today is kind.🤗

Good morning from Staffordshire.A dry day forecast.

We enjoyed a couple of walks yesterday with the little dog.Same again today. We have enjoyed our stay here.

No wonder you were exhausted grandMattie. The FAB cafe sounded fun but not nice that the WI federation are being so unhelpful.

Thinking of our absent good morningers and wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌻

grandMattie Thu 02-Apr-26 05:27:12

Good morning from a dry Bristol.
Yesterday’s FAB cafe went well, although there were fewer attendees (about 80) than usual for a live performance. People got a bit restive when the young man was 30 minutes late arriving. He was untested but was hugely enjoyed by the crowd who, predictably, ended up bopping in the aisles, the vicar leading the way. It kept them warm as we still have no heating.
My helpers and I helped the vicar rearrange the seats after sorting out the servery and washing up, etc.
I was exhausted by the time I got home, loaded like a packhorse, with not only my trolley full of tins but three plastic trays which had contained the cakes. I must hav3 been a sight.
A quick lunch, then off to a meeting re. the closure of our WI. Unfortunately, the federation is being extra negative, unhelpful and quite frankly, rather vindictive. It’s all very sad. We are trying to be as kind as we can, despite accusations of “grooming” the members, none of whom knew that the committee was resigning. To our utter astonishment, only 3 members have rejoined for this coming year.
This morning, I’m going into town to get fabric for a little lap quilt for myself, some specific earrings for DGD’s birthday, and my new glasses.
I’ll probably go to the Maundy Thursday service this evening.
May today be kind to you all and the sun shine upon you.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
