Mine is:-

Leek and potato soup

Spinach pancakes in cheese sauce with ratatouille

Coffee mousse with tuile biscuits

(Cheese board optional)

Washed down with vegan Reisling

What is yours?

Doodledog Tue 07-Apr-26 21:21:26

No, me neither. I prefer my own choice, but then so will everyone else.

Umm. Nothing to excite me in many of the choices listed here. All seems ordinary stay-at-home weekday suppers.

Horses for courses, I guess!

Mine .....

Smooth Liver Parfait with Rum
- with toasted Ciabatta and Spiced Pear relish

Rare Ribeye Steak with Bernaise Sauce, Jacket Potato and Mixed Salad

Fresh Coconut Ice-Cream with Clotted Cream.

..... and I know just where I can get it and we'll be going there on Thursday!!!! Fortnightly treat.
.

Well that doesn’t look anything special to me!😁

I'm never bothered about having a starter, but my main course would be -
either salmon with oven-roasted veg and potato, OR
Chicken Rogan Josh and vegetable rice

Then - home-made trifle

harrysgran Tue 07-Apr-26 19:52:59

Prawn cocktail
Lamb roast dinner
Creme Brulee

StTrinians Tue 07-Apr-26 19:49:12

Courgette and stilton soup.
Moules marinieres.
Raspberries and vanilla ice cream.
Fresh cafetiere coffee.

Mojack26 Tue 07-Apr-26 19:37:25

Cannot manage 3 courses! Main and dessert or starter and dessert

Katcoffee Tue 07-Apr-26 19:34:10

Another one who can’t manage 3 courses but if I could:
Prawn cocktail
Roast with either turkey or lamb
Chocolate cake or Tiramisu

Susieq62 Tue 07-Apr-26 18:46:09

A good caponata
Spaghetti bol ( my own recipe)
Chocolate mousse

Limoncello to complete the evening

kittylester Tue 07-Apr-26 18:39:43

Whitebait (gf please)
Ribeye steak, chunky chips and garlic mushrooms
Raspberry pavlova

With big gaps between courses.

IamMaz Tue 07-Apr-26 18:38:27

I usually plump for garlic mushrooms to start. My absolute favourites were from a local restaurant that has sadly closed down…. They were cooked with soy sauce and cream. So yummy. I would have had a huge bowl as a main course if I could!!!

Then probably fillet steak - medium.
Dauphinoise potatoes.
Tender stem broccoli.

And a light and fluffy dessert of some sort - probably lemon flavour.

arum Tue 07-Apr-26 18:22:41

Mulligatawny soup
Pepper Steak pie and salad
Tipsy tart with cream

pregpaws3 Tue 07-Apr-26 18:02:39

Unable to eat 3 courses now
Moules mariniere
zabaglione

If I am going to have a dessert...and I always check the dessert menu first to ascertain whether I will or not... then I usually have just a starter and add a green salad or chips to that and skip the main course.
My favourite three courses would be Rilletes with real French baguette ;
Baked trout with dauphinoise potatoes and a green salad, followed by either afogato or crème brulé.
A drop of Remy Martin and a coffee to finish.....and pass the Gaviscon along please!😀

Mawmac Tue 07-Apr-26 16:30:54

I'm usually just a starter and main as well now. But, if taking my time & small portions;
Lobster salad
Slow roast spicy lamb with charred kale or broccoli (maybe with roast potatoes
Apple crumble & ice cream
I love cheese too, but can't remember the last time I managed to eat some after a meal

Goingtobeagranny Tue 07-Apr-26 16:25:54

Pate or terrine of some kind, with decent bread and good, sticky chutney.
Fillet steak with chunky chips
Followed by crème brûlée or tiramisu.
I can definitely manage three courses, even if I don’t eat everything I’d rather have a bit of all three 😊

My favourite meal is vegetable pakora followed by Kashmiri butter chicken and a side of naan.

Dessert is usually 10 mls of gaviscon 😀

🤣🤣
Me too, a nice set Indian meal.

JamesandJon33 Tue 07-Apr-26 15:46:24

I never eat a three course meal. If we are at an hotel. for example, it is either starter and main, or main and pudding.
Favourite starter, seafood cocktail with avocado. Main… fish of some sort, and pudding, Tarte Tatin.

Labradora Tue 07-Apr-26 15:40:47

I'm in the " not up to three courses these days" club but "back in the day."......
Avocado prawns
A really good Coq au Vin with veg haricots beans/peas/carrots
A really good individual strawberry tart set in that lovely custardy thing that they use with lots of Chantilly.
Gordons and Tonic to start
Washed down with a good red burgundy
Grand Marnier with coffee afterwards

Iam64 Tue 07-Apr-26 15:32:47

Scallops with brown bread n butter
Sea bass with baby potatoes and green beans with garlic
Strawberry cheesecake

Glenfinnan Tue 07-Apr-26 15:25:28

Mine would be
Smoked Salmon
Beef Wellington
Profiteroles

But have to say these days when we go out to dinner I usually have 2 starters rather than a main and then an ice cream!

Redhead56 Tue 07-Apr-26 15:20:54

Prawn cocktail
Ribeye steak with my Diane sauce
Green beans tossed in garlic and herb butter and tiny potatoes.
Lemon surprise pudding with Rose Cava.
Each course with half an hour interval otherwise I could not eat it. It's not a favourite meal but I would enjoy it.

Supergran1946 Tue 07-Apr-26 15:01:44

I just cannot manage three courses ! My favourite meal is tapas

polnan Tue 07-Apr-26 14:34:39

I`m a one course also, and when I go local I ask for a kids serving... not much appetite, I wish locals here served half of these!! I am sure my appetite would improve
