Has anyone seen this? I’m wondering whether to take my 7 year old grandson to see it on Saturday. Would you recommend?

Haven’t seen it, but there was a recent thread about it - which I can’t find!
I know most GN’s liked the film.

The thread about The Magic Faraway Tree can be found in the Arts and Culture forum, starting 8.4.26.

Yes I think the film would be good for your grandson. In parts it is like the Wizard of Oz.

I’ve found the thread thank you and will give it a try. I was a big Enid Blyton fan many years ago. Hopefully my grandson will be enjoy it

We took the 3 Gdcs (10, 9, 6) the day after release. They all enjoyed it, though the 6 year old did find one short scene scary. Dh and I enjoyed it, but I can’t say it’s something I’d have chosen to see if not for the Gdcs. IMO it was well done, though.

I had never read the book, so wasn’t bothered by changes. Dds loved the book so I dare say will be a mite put out!

I enjoyed it, although it was rather Americanised and although lavishly produced, missed a lot of the magic for me.
A story about a family growing tomatoes was tagged on for some reason?
I think your grandson will enjoy it however.

It’s a great film. Nearly 6 year old grandson was captivated.
