Covid vax made me ill this time

I nearly always feel fluey the day after a Covid jab and make sure I have nothing scheduled for that day. I just stay in bed and by about 5 o'clock I start to feel okay again.

Felt awful the day after my jab, but still pleased I had it.

I was going to have another covid vaccine next week because I want to start going to the gym again, but I’m travelling home on the following Sunday and I’ve got a well woman check that week. My daughter caught covid for the first time the other week, having been exposed to it numerous times over the past few years. Not sure what to do now.

Had mine two weeks ago and apart from a slightly sore arm and feeling very tired the following day that was all. DH was fine after his.

Sueinkent. Might be an idea to talk to your GP because of the palpitations you’re having, that would worry me.

It's a balancing act - if you don't have it you risk being very ill, and if you do you risk a few days of feeling slightly unwell and a sore arm.

It was a no-brainer for me as I am already struggling with health problems. I have had a sore arm; that is all.

It is 9 days since I had my booster and I still feel the discomfort when I stretch my arm, for instance to fasten my bra. I think it is because as another poster said I had it in my shoulder and had the RSV vaccine lower down.
I cannot have any in my right arm.
I felt unwell for several days which was a first for me.

I’ve never had any problems with jab but I decided not to have anymore unless there is an increase in cases I understand it’s pretty low now.

No prizes for hazarding a guess why the incidence is lower these days?

The point is, if you get it, the severity can be just as bad as it was a couple of years ago.
I know, I swerved it throughout the entire pandemic and caught it last August. I felt very poorly indeed and that was with the vaccine.

I felt pretty yuck after mine on Wednesday. I hardly slept and took Thursday off 😊
I was better on Friday.
Moderna for me too. If it stops a full blown covid it's worth having.

Mr C had Covid and RSV vaccination together. He felt as if he had flu for 48 hours, then all was well. He’s never had a reaction before. We assumed the impact of two together.

I was fine after my Covid jab, not even a sore arm. Thinking about it reminded me I did feel unwell after RSV vaccination last year. Neither of us will be deterred from future vaccination rounds.

Had our jabs Monday am (Spikevax) ; I fell asleep after lunch.
Tuesday; arm still tender, wabbit all day. Daytime tv after lunch.
Wednesday; still sub par but went to volunteer job am.. At one point felt so dizzy thought I might have to tell someone. Didn't. Just slacked off until I felt better, (unusually) left bang on time.

Thursday. Could still feel arm/shoulder. Lovely day, went to allotment, did hardly anything then felt absolutely wiped out. Despite minimal effort again felt head swimming (enough to put on sunhat). Stopped work had cuppa.

DH same, tired all week, very unusual for him.

I had mine last week. Moderna. Arm sore at the injection site for a day or so which is usual but no ill effects.

That's eleven now - two a year since 2021 and this the first one for 2026.

I work with the public. Important to be protected as I have an auto immune condition, the treatment for which weakens my immune system.

I have never had Covid. I am aware that the vaccination does not stop one from catching Covid but were I to catch it, I trust that I wouldn't be as ill as I might be because of my weakened immune system.

I have heard the same from so many people who have had the latest Covid jab. I bumped into one of my late Mum’s neighbours in the surgery. She told me both her and her husband had it and were really ill. sweating, aching, pounding headaches etc. She said they had all the other Covid jabs and were fine but this time she said “no more”.

I had my Covid jab on Monday morning, I didn't feel a thing, by the evening I was hot but shivery my face particularly felt like it was burning, I hardly slept. Felt unwell it was as if my head wasn’t here all day Tuesday, went to bed early and slept well, but I’ve felt fragile ever since.
It’s the first time I’ve had a reaction.

Yesterday whilst visiting the GP I noticed a lot of people getting their jabs.

When I asked at the desk I was told I could have one too there and then- but I declined as I was not well.

I am going next week though, but if I'm still unwell I won't have it.

I got a pain in my shoulder about a week later which apparently was caused by them injecting too high up on the arm.

my OH had a very sore arm after the november jag, it was red and sore and oozing blood and puss, had to have it dressed and had antibiotics, there's still a red mark the size of a 5p on his arm.

I had mine recently, just had a sore arm the next day and felt a bit more tired than usual. I was fine by the following morning.

I agree. I’ve had similar symptoms and am still not right four days later. Only experienced chills for a few hours in the past. Also my arm still feels bruised, but is improving. Moderna vaccine this time.

I had my Covid jab on Monday and apart from a sore arm, I didn't feel too bad. Yesterday I had a very busy day and I was out and about most of the day. I found that as the day wore on I felt worse and worse - fluey, nauseated and light headed. My injection site was swollen, hot and red.

In the evening I went to bed early having not eaten anything since a light breakfast. Today I feel better but still not recovered.

Apart from the sore arm I have not had any of these symptoms before with previous Covid jabs.
