Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry but not quite twilight here in Brackley this morning.
Up to the usual routine with getting a bus to shop in Bicester ,and also chat to people I know.
My health OK at the moment.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sky is uniformerly grey. The forecast is for rain. Yesterday’s walk in the woods was lovely - lots of bluebells out. I missed my usual lunch date with DD yesterday as she was working. It’s the only chance we have for a face to face catch up in the week, but she texted me later to ask what I had eaten during the day and was not impressed when I said a banana and a toasted tea cake! I redeemed myself at teatime.

This morning I must sort out a new energy contract which I keep putting off but am running out of time. School this afternoon - Friday is a short session.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Grey here too, and signs of a light overnight shower. The washing is on and hopefully it will dry outside today. Yesterday was a nothing sort of day, went for a walk, did my exercises, then pottered about. I had a second telephone asthma review in the evening, much more useful than Monday’s tick box exercise!

bellasnana I hope you are feeling better today.

cornergran I sympathise regarding the rats. We have them in the garden occasionally as there used to be a field behind our house. Now there is a housing estate and lots of the residents feed the birds and leave food out on the ground for foxes! I hope you enjoy the Eden Project tomorrow.

susan I hope you have a good journey to see your mum and that she recognises you when you get there. A distressing situation for you and your immediate family.

melanie I hope the dog situation is resolved soon. At the very least the dog needs to be muzzled when with other people.

ash that extra bit of storage in the boot of your car will be very useful. DD2 keeps the family welly boots in theirs.

Thinking of all those with health and other worries.

Have the best day you can everyone- Friday again! I don’t know where the time goes, but I don’t seem to achieve much during the week!

Good morning all from the Black country.
Need to make a few phone calls and catch up with some paperwork. If I can persuade DH would like to go and look for some new dining chairs.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans, I shall be taking a break for a while☀️

Good morning from murky Leicestershire.

I took my car Rosesandlilac to We Buy Any Car and they offered me a much better price than the garage on the spot. I made an appointment online first.

The bluebells are amazing kitty I walked to our local wood yesterday. The exercise did me good. Will try and post a picture.

I need to go to the butcher this morning then Pilates this afternoon.

I then have to decide whether to interfere in my DS’s affairs or let him get on with it. In the night I was determined to but in the light of day I think probably best not to.

Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

Good morning from Stockport, once again I haven’t looked out so can’t report on the weather.
I didn’t have a good day yesterday.
So tired and lethargic, age is really catching up with me.
I received a text message late from a friend reminding me of a very vague arrangement to meet up this afternoon, I shall reply after I have had breakfast when I know just how I feel.
R&L I am so pleased you are keeping busy, a new car will be a real boost to you.
I hope very much your H is being supportive and kind.
Must rouse myself now, I will need to wash my hair if I do decide to go out later.
Hope you all find some contentment today.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C.

DH has an appointment to get bloods taken and to his BP checked.
His BP remains dangerously high. DS has taken sometime off work, to give me a break. Normally I would insist on going, bur I'm tired of nagging him.

I spent yesterday in and out of the garage, bagging items for the tip. DS has volunteered to do a run today. We have so much stuff in the garage and I can find nothing. It drives me mad. DH continuously moves things and then dumps more stuff on top of it.

For my belated Mother's Day gift, DD is taking me out. She suggested a trail round the posh charity shops, but I requested a trip to Braehead, IKEA and lunch in McDonald's.
I always try to cook healthy meals, but I crave some junk food.

Today, the preparation for the move to the Parish Hall begin,
The P.P assumed, I would be there, co-ordinating it all. ( I did organise the volunteers)
I told him, that DH had a medical appointment, I just didn't say DS was taking him and I was going shopping. 😉
I do more than enough.
I will be there most of the weekend and have also averted a few disasters this week.
Despite feeling constantly unwell, I do more than my share.

Good to see you keeping busy, R&L, but you also need to rest.
On the advice of my RA consultant, I reluctantly changed to an automatic car. I should have changed years ago, I love it! Go for it, while you feel well enough.

I am wondering how Mr Ginster is faring and hoping that yesterday's hospital appointment had a positive outcome, Susan.
Best wishes to all,x

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it feels mild and we’ve light grey clouds
Enjoy visiting the Eden Project tomorrow cornergran, it’s years since we were there but I still remember going and thoroughly enjoyed it
Yesterday it was lovely sunshine here and I enjoyed pottering in the garden for a while. I also got all the bedding dried outside. Today it’s back to the gym, I’ll do a couple of classes including a line dance class then I’ll walk into town before getting the bus home. I’ll call into M&S food too and pick up a few treats to enjoy over the weekend
There’s no bluebells in flower up here yet but they’re slowly getting ready!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gingster Fri 17-Apr-26 07:50:31

Good morning and it’s bright here in Essex. No rain forecast. Always a chilly breeze.

Dh was a little better yesterday and I got the new fold up travel wheelchair out. Took him and little pooch for a short outing.
That’s the first and last time!!!. He moaned the whole time, uncomfortable and bumpy, little pooch got in the way of the wheels, couldn’t get him up little lumps in the pavement and it was so heavy to push. I didn’t think our road was uphill !,, 🥵. It isn’t the right chair for him. So another piece of wasted equipment and I don’t have a lot of storage room.

This not driving is becoming an issue.

Anyway, today I’m being picked up by a friend and taken to the pub to meet our Friday gang. Dh not well enough so Dd will sit in with him. I’m in need of jolly company and a couple of G and T’s. .

I hope you all have a ‘good’ day and hope all the mountaineers get closer to the summit.🧗🏽‍♀️.

Good morning from a Hotel in Birmingham.

Lovely walk yesterday with ma Walk & Talk group through Bluebell woods , then looping back along the canal.

The play last night, To Kill a Mockingbird was extremely brilliant. Standing ovation and loud cheers at the end.

Will be down to breakfast shortly, then home on the train.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning from a dull Suffolk which I’m hoping will brighten up as the day goes on.

We’ve mustachios a delivery of oil which has come almost a week earlier than expected. DH was shocked( as he expected to be) by the increase in price. We are wondering if these new prices are deterring people from ordering which is why the company were able to deliver ours early.

DH has an appointment at the hospital to have hearing aids fitted. He has been denying for quite a long time that he needed them but, having had a recent test, unbeknown to me,agreed to have some to deal with what he describes as ‘old age hearing loss’. So hopefully no more requests from me to turn the tv down or having to repeat what I’m saying to him!

I plan to take him out for dinner to let him know I appreciate his decision about the hearing aids.

Hope today is a good one for all.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton.

Still feeling tired after the long day DD and I had yesterday, visiting my DSIS in Wiltshire. We had a good though long journey both ways. DSis was rather out of it yesterday and it was rather heartbreaking yesterday to see her - she had once been the life and soul of every party, full of life and up for anything. She was very unresponsive, said very little, and didn't really know who DD and I were. I had taken lots of family photos to talk about, but had virtually no response to any of them. The only good thing is that she is being cared for in a safe and friendly environment. It is her birthday today,.but she won't know - I had taken her a bag of treats, and hoping that she gets to enjoy them.

We stayed for about an hour then said our goodbyes; perhaps on a different day she may have been more alert, and we may try visiting again later in the year.

I treated DD to lunch at Bowood (glammagran we went to the golf club restaurant); it was lovely to see the primroses and a sea of bluebells and lots of deer quite near to the hotel.
Then DD took me to visit the family church in my DF's home village of Calstone; it was so pretty there, and I found the grave where my parents, grandparents and various family members are remembered.

Today will be dance classes this morning, then will take it easy afterwards, apart from making a curry for dinner.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Jaxjacky Fri 17-Apr-26 08:27:04

Morning, late for me, from a grey S Hants, possible showers later.
Enjoy Norfolk luluaugust, not been there for many years.
How frustrating Gingster any sign of your second opinion?
Yesterday I had a proper garden wander, MrJ went to the butcher and farm shop. I had a long online chat with friends visiting Australia for over 6 weeks, isn’t modern communication great.
Today Tesco delivery, I might make our Friday night pub visit, first one since December.
Have a peaceful day.

Just found out we have The Imp joining us on date night tonight.

He is no trouble to take out to restaurants and will try most things, but I admit that once he has eaten, and we have discussed his school day, I will probably let him have a device to give us some extra time at the table.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 17-Apr-26 08:28:39

Go for it Jaxjacky 👍

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I'm late up due to a poor sleep.

I'm missing a nice day out with the U3A as I had neglected to cancel my shift where I'm needed more than ever as other volunteers are sick.
Much easier to cancel paid work!

Yesterday I had the Estate agent to discuss my house going on the market. The photos will happen next week if the sun shines.

I'm taking a table at tomorrow's street market to hopefully get rid of some more clutter. I even hope to sell the table!

Tonight dinner at a neighbour/friend's.

Corner enjoy the Eden project. DH and I went in 2019. It was Easter holidays and very busy. Lots of walking but fabulous!

I'm glad you are keeping well occupied Rosesandlilac more embroidery, less kickboard cleaning

Gingster and Marydoll I know what you mean about bumpy wheelchairs! I thought IKEA was perfectly flat until I pushed DM around. She gasped and squealed at every join in the flooring.

Good news for Melanie's family.
Lovely photosDragonfly and NannyJan

Hope everyone has something nice to do today.

WhiteSwan63 Fri 17-Apr-26 08:45:05

Good morning from the East Coast.
I’m so tired I was awake from 4-6.30 am I woke up thinking of my best friend and couldn’t sleep.

This morning DH is going to the gym and I’m waiting in for the plumber coming to repair the dripping tap in the bathroom. He had to order a new part. This afternoon we are going to mums to weed her front drive and empty her weed filled pots and put in decorative stones instead to restore some kerb appeal as a surprise when she gets home from her holiday next Tuesday.
Tonight we are out with DDs in laws for an Italian meal. They are delightful company. We love telling stories of the little DGDs together.

Our best friend didn’t stay over last night but she came for her dinner, a cuddle and a cry. They moved her DH into a side room and she slept alongside him. They are rushing to get him home today as that’s where he wants to spend his final days. So sad.

Wishing a lovely day for everyone. 🌼
Thoughts to those feeling sad and stressed. 💐

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 17-Apr-26 09:07:59

Late to say good morning everyone as our Yorkshire Lass chatted to me on speakerphone from her car as she drove into work. She is coming over to see us all tomorrow (quick visit to her grandpa who is sad about his brother, coffee with her younger sister, lunch with me) it will be good to see her.

It’s damp here in south Manchester and showers are forecast later.

I’m off to my first MacMillan bereavement counselling session this afternoon, 8 weeks on now since the death of Himself.

A course of eight weekly sessions are offered if I choose to attend them all. I can take a break for a holiday if I choose (I’m thinking I might go out to Málaga at the end of May if I feel brave enough to tackle the apartment 🤷‍♀️) and then the remaining sessions are just continued afterwards.

I’m nervous to be honest. But I’m keeping an open mind about it all and am very grateful to be offered this professional support. I will not bother applying mascara ….

Anyway this evening I’m meeting younger daughter and family in the Lebanese restaurant round the corner from me. I loved it when we went recently and can see why it is a family favourite of theirs. Something nice to look forward to after my session.

Good morning Mick and all GN's from a grey, breezy morning, which doesnt seem to know whether to improve or rain. Have just got back from taking my car to the garage. They are very good there and I know I wont be overcharged but there is always the worry that something that you hadnt noticed needed doing could add to the cost, so slightly on edge until they ring to say it is ok or to ask if I want something else doing to it.

I had a rubbish day yesterday. Didnt feel well at all and stayed at home, getting very little done. Got the bedding washed and then the cleaners rang and they had to go to the hospital and so wouldnt be able to come until today. so that was a bit of a blow , but couldnt be helped.

It wasnt a good day all told. I have made some decisions and committed myself to something and now full of doubts as to whether I have done the right thing. My husband used to be so good and calming in such situations, being able to point out sensible reasons etc etc and now there is no one I could really talk to about matters and it goes round and round in my head. Probably not feeling physically well added to it, but it ended up as a poor day and I did not even feel well enough to go out for a walk which could have helped. When I am in a positive mood I think I am able to still do things and then on a day like yesterday feel I have bitten off more than I can chew and wonder why I get myself into such situations. Oh well just have to hope that the car goes ok and the cleaners come this morning and improve matters.

Hope you had a successful trip into Bicester Mick. Marzipan you have quite a lot on at the moment by the sound of it. Hope it all goes well. I

sorry not feling too good, will come back. Hope your day goes well everyone
