Wakey Wakey, time to get up.

Up and doing by 7 here.

I still miss the Today programme opening with ‘It’s half past six and time for Today’. That always got me going with a smile.

There are a lot more owls than larks among you lot but if you’re retired you can probably get up when you want to.
I’m a lark. Up when I wake, anytime after 4 and down stairs to make coffee. I potter around in dressing gown and slippers for a couple of hours, feed the animals then get dressed.
I could never return to bed, drink tea in bed or shower first thing.

I ve always been an early riser and so 6 am most days and
I m awake and out of bed in one, nothing wakes me it’s just how I am and I feel totally fresh whether I ve slept much or not

A palmful of KP peanuts. My diet won't allow more. I dream about them and savour them slowly each half nut at a time.

When I do get up - generally between 6-7.30 am, I like a large cup of tea sitting in the conservatory or garden depending on the warmth. I just love quiet moments with the birds, before I start the day.

I wake around 5-6 for a wee

so I get up when awake and want my big cup of latte

put music on quietly

...and pop into GN or another SM room as I like company.

I hate early appointments, I do not like to rush.

I generally wake up between 6 and 6.30…..might go to the loo and get back under the duvet but mostly I get up, make a cuppa and read the news.
Like to be in bed by 22.00 although I do read for 30 to 45 minutes before lights out.
If I’m still awake after half an hour I get up and read in the lounge so as not to disturb Mr A who has no trouble dropping off.

Redrobin51…..sounds like you have a very well mannered, considerate pooch there. 🐕

Trip to bathroom, feed the yowling cat then enjoy coffee in bed made by Mister. We then lounge in bed sorting our day before getting up and getting on with it.

3 days a week it work
1 day is taking GC to school
Other 3 is the dig wanting to go out

Our rescue dog. I hear a tiny woof and then she gently paws the side of the bed and sits there waiting. If it is too early I tell her to go back to bed which she does and 30 minutes later she decides she has given me enough time and goes through the performance again.

We started to wake up at 5.45 when we had 5 children all at home. Our body clocks haven't registered that they left home tears ago.

So, make tea, feed the cat and bring the tea back to bed. We then watch the news, do Wordle etc for the family thread, do lots of Whatsapps and drink more tea. Sometimes we have to get going and sometimes we can take our time.

Well, FGT, in defence of the late Princess Margaret, she would not have been troubled by any thoughts of vacuums or mops.
I doubt that she could recognise such objects...
And, in your defence, they'll still be there tomorrow, so there's no rush.

I like the return to warmth of bed with breakfast. Getting the washing machine underway is great incentive to get moving on a sunny day.

I wake about 8 am but don't get up straight away, more like 8.45 am unless I have somewhere to go.

Sadly, I’m an extreme lark, so it’s around 4am… 🤨

I hate both getting up and going to bed.
I suppose,eventually, it's the feeling that I "ought to get on".
I could happily read in the morning for hours.

I am NOT a "morning person" - even if I'm wide awake.

Me too. I always have done the reluctant going to bed and even more reluctant to get up thing. I had too many years of having to get up to an alarm, as no doubt many others have plus I'm always in so much pain getting up these days I'm happy to stay in bed as long as I need to for me.

I get up properly when I feel like it. my bladder wakes me up usually but when i've answered its call I get back into bed as i'm not ready to get up just yet.
then I'll check emails and Facebook and play solitaire or something.
only when i'm finally ready to face the day will i start the getting up process. and it could be any time between 10 and (gasp) 12!!
unless i've got a morning appointment of course then I begrudgingly get out of bed about 9.00!
I love being retired and single.

I'm woken by my dog who asks to go out at about 0745. I let her out, turn the kettle on, have a pee, make tea for two, let the dog in and go back to bed with our tea. Then there's emails, messages, morning news and cuddles with the dog, and we try and plan our day. When I retired I stopped getting up early.

Bathroom visit while my cat moans & begs for food as his bowl is half empty & he is in serious danger of starvation. Between the two no chance of going back to bed 😹

Guilt! Plain and simply guilt! There’s that niggly feeling that I ought to be up and doing…

My circadian rhythms! Generally around 5,30/6 am.
Listen to the news headlines then it’s up, shower, dress and down to breakfast, Can’t understand going back to bed with CIB after getting out of my cosy nest only to make the effort all over again, I like to make a start on things.
