I'm so happy to read these responses. So many are exactly what I'd say too. I don't know what's wrong with me - anno domini I suppose.

Crowds

Long drives

Cooking

Alarm clocks

Running . After a ruptured Achilles. I walk rather than run

I have found that with age has come a confidence to feel able to say no to things I don't want to do, whereas when I was younger I was always doing things that took me out of my comfort zone. I feel much more relaxed now and content with my lot.

Have so many of you changed a lot I wonder?
I never liked parties, didn't go to "works dos", was never interested in sport, was happy with a (very) small circle of friends, never liked shopping (since I left school) but always liked garden centres...

I may be fatter and slower but I think I haven't changed very much.

Stairs.

Cramming too much into one day. I now like to space out my activities.
Entertaining at home, it used to be an open door policy here, but now I like more time to myself and don’t miss all the cooking and preparation.
Ironing and as much domesticity as I can avoid.

People who boast and people who try to dominate and control.

Sunbathing

Night driving

Long walks

I'd also add staying up really late.

Too much retail therapy, once I enjoyed that, now after about an hour I've had enough.

People. Seems most of us are becoming antisocial as we get older. Interesting.

Septimia Thu 23-Apr-26 20:15:28

People - yes.

Having to do things rather than choosing to do them.

Cossy Thu 23-Apr-26 20:13:33

People (some)

Staying up or out late (past 8pm haha)

Crowds, too much hot sunshine, ditto cold and rain.

Looking down into a magnifying mirror on my lap ...

Climbing over stiles (Not Harry) the wooden structures through fences where you have to get one leg over, if you know what I mean. Lots of lovely country walks where I live now but I have to know in advance they're stile free.

Heaving crowded places, packed trains.

I love the sun but nothing too hot, so I don't go to the places I might have once, or at least not in the height of summer. Extreme heat makes me feel half dead and very listless. I love mid 20s.

Red wine, it gives me a headache.

Tarragon, I have tried and tried but I really do not like it.

People who manage to suck the joy out of any occasion.

Personal training sessions at my gym, I enjoy the classes more.

Funny how people say socialising. We need people but I am very choosy now who I socially go out with. Age thing?

TheSunRisesInTheEast Thu 23-Apr-26 19:01:16

Socialising 😱

People, except for my family and my best friend of more than half a century.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 23-Apr-26 18:32:24

Activities or people who do not spark joy.
Why bother?

NotSpaghetti Thu 23-Apr-26 18:26:35

Not sure really... things I would have always avoided?
🤔
Never fancied bungee jumping.
