Happy holiday WhiteSwan ✈️
Susan hope you can have a restful day 💐
A very happy birthday to you llfl
Happy Birthday llfl 🥳🎂🥂.
Enjoy your family visit to China WhiteSwan
Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, but hopefully sunshine later, especially as DD's band is playing on the bandstand in our town park this afternoon.
Yesterday was beautiful, lovely warm sunshine all day and right until the.evening.
I popped down to the shops in the morning as I needed food for an early dinner yesterday, and a later dinner tonight.
An early evening rugby match yesterday which went right to the wire, but thankfully a win by 3 points for my team, which sees them still at the top of the Premiership. It was glorious sitting in the sun watching them and I even took my rugby top off, thankful that I had put a t-shirt on underneath!
I shall prepare a picnic later this morning to take to the park, to have while I sit and listen to DD's band - they are playing from 2 till 5pm, and it will be a wide range of music, ideal for sitting in the sun. I have just got some of my home-made sausage rolls out of the freezer to thaw out, so DD will be pleased!
Your outing to the Bowood rhododendron gardens sounds lovely, glammagran; I remember many a visit to see them when I was a child.
Wishing all a pleasant Sunday.
Good morning from a bright sunny Suffolk. I had no problem logging on just now but couldn’t yesterday.
DS bought a vintage camper van last year, much admired by the mechanic who did some work on it a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday was a trial run with an overnight run to the lovely site between Dunwich and Minsmere.
We visited them yesterday afternoon and enjoyed sitting outside on the very spacious site with many huge trees for shade. There are steps from the site to the beach and a newly built restaurant and outside bar on a raised level.
The original one burnt down last year and their replacement one is splendid. DH used to bring the children camping hereabout 35 years ago when it was a very simple site with a couple of cold water showers only.
A quiet day at home now with some gentle gardening and cleaning the summerhouse which seems to have acquired a morgue of dead insects over the winter.
Hope today is a good one for all.
Happy birthday llfl, have a wonderful day! 73 is positively young; I was 81 last week!
A very Happy Birthday llfl enjoy your special day! 🥂🎁🎂💐
Happy Birthday, LLFL - enjoy your day. 🥂🎂
Ah many happy returns of the day to you LLFL! Enjoy your day xx
Good morning from a cool, cloudy Durham. The sun isn’t expected to put in an appearance today. I’m tired and have woken with a headache.
DD2 and DGS2 stayed here last night - not without incident as DGS2 fell out of bed. They’ll go home after lunch and I expect there’ll be a mess to clear up.
DGS2 can walk Little Dog with me sometime - I lost my best dog lead last night, so hope I can find it today.
Happy birthday llfl. Safe journey to our travellers.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 7°C.
Gaga, what a heartwarming post, I hope your brother continues to make progress.
DH is behaving strangely this morning. I have to open up the church, but he let me sleep on, saying I needed the rest.
No morning tea etc.
He looked at me rather strangely, when I came downstairs for painkillers and a cuppa. He usually brings them up. He us definitely behaving oddly, didn't understand what I was talking about.
Mass in the new new venue went well last night, until people started feeling faint with the heat of the sun, streaming through the glass. It was the totally opposite of the church, where fur coats are needed, even in summer.
I started to panic, when one woman keeled forward, for we always had bottles of water handy, but we had forgotten to bring them over.
Then, it dawned on me, I was sitting next to the bar area, where there were dozens of glasses!
I suggested we closed the blinds, but the P.P didn't want to spoil the view of the beautiful blossom on the trees!!!
I tried to keep my head down (literally), until one elderly and unpredictable parishioner called out, at the top of his voice: Love the new haircut, Mary!. Total silence from the congregation.😂
I am running so late, I don't know what is wrong with DH today. He is off for his daily walk, without a word, a strategy to try and get his BP down. It is still dangerously high.
Have a lovely day and safe journey, to those, who are travelling.
The China trip seems so exciting!
Happy Birthday, Llfl 🎂🎈🥂
Hope our travellers have good journey.
Still no Madeleine
Good morning from an overcast but balmy, bright Cornwall, a strange combination, as if something weather-wise is brewing.
I've only just come out on to my patio to allow the dunnocks time to feed, as they're more timid than the other birds. Gosh, a robin is hovering right in front of my face trying to get to my breakfast cake. Yesterday a high bookshelf I'd drilled into the wall years ago came tumbling down in slow motion and I played Frisbee with the books as they descended, bringing down jigsaws from the shelf below and leaving a largeish hole in the wall, easily filled later. The one book that remained standing amidst the chaos is pictured. How funny is that! Oh and now there's a very large gull a few feet from me. No peace for my breakfast this morning.
I do wonder what noise Mumsnet people would make if that site was down for as long as yesterday. At least this morning it was rectified quickly.
Today, when I've finished fighting off The Birds I'll start reading A Shepherd Looks At Psalm 23 by Keller, a beautiful book I come back to regularly. Full of insights.
Good morning from murky Leicestershire hopefully it will brighten up later.
Yesterday I spent worrying about all our family troubles. It seems not one of them is problem free at the moment.
I did get a message from a fellow GN which made me chuckle throughout the day.
Not sure what’s on the cards today except roast lamb for dinner.
Happy Birthday Llfl.
I hope you have a wonderful time in china with your family WhiteSwan.
My goodness Marzipan. I'm glad you weren't hurt
Morning everyone from Lancashire.
Still in bed, the air feels quite cool around my arms.
Just looked at the temp for this afternoon supposed to get quite warm again.
Had a good sleep as I haven’t been sleeping well), only up once for the loo.
Will potter this morning & change my beds.
Later will drop my mum & friend off at their club, they like a spritzer & natter.
I will probably have a mooch in tks, then go & see my friend with dementia for an hour until it’s time to pick mum up again.
Hope you all have a nice day.
Hopefully you too Mick.
Not good being under the weather.
Take care.
Thank you Grandmabatty. I felt it about to happen as I reached up for a book. It was like a slow avalanche and some books slithered down my back. 😂 They were mostly large craft books with shiny covers, no big heavy tomes.
Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset
Yesterday was super, warm to hot sunshine all day. We had an hour by the sea wall drinking coffee as a strategy to clear my stuffy head. Not sure it worked but it was very enjoyable.
I’m on a clothes sorting mission today. Mr C will do a couple of small outside tasks then I suspect doze in the conservatory. No resolution to the rats in the gardens issue yet. Our neighbours now see several playing tag on their patio. At least they have the grace to skulk behind the plants in ours.
Safe travels to all on the move, a very happy birthday to ladylfl
Best wishes to all, have the best day you can.
fgt sorry to hear about your stepfather’s brother. Sending condolences to you and your stepfather.
Good morning all.
I’ll do a bit more gardening, tidying today. All the pots are looking good and will hopefully show a colourful display all summer.
DS1 and 2 will come soon and we’ll sort out the shed. It’s very small and triangular fitting into the point of the garden.,
It’s full of DH’s golf clubs, trolleys and fishing paraphernalia .
I can’t see it ever being used again 😢 but we can’t get rid of it.
Perhaps it can go in ds1 ‘s large garage or some into the loft.
Enjoy the holidays everyone who is setting off and hoping things ease for those who are struggling. 🌺
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I missed you yesterday. It's such a nice start to the day reading all the plans, as well as the joys and sorrows.
Happy Birthday you young thing Llfl
Enjoy your special day.
I am expecting 3 friends including one expert to help sort my books in preparation for the man from the book charity to come with a van for the bulk.
Someone is supposed to be coming to take away the Gypsy caravan which has been outside my house for the past nearly 20 years and needs to go to a new home before it completely rots away. The DGC used it as a playhouse but they are not interested in it now.
A friend stayed last night so I'll need to make us some breakfast.
Such a funny photo Marzipan and beautiful ones Glammagran
Have a lovely day whatever you are up to.
Good morning all from a not so sunny northwest coast. Not getting my usual Gransnet fix yesterday morning, I absconded to Mumsnet, which is always interesting.
It was a domestic day for me, unusually 😁, washing drying in the sun etc and I was glad of it after a busy week going out.
I finished Alison Uttley’s lovely book ‘Country Hoard’ about growing up in the Peak District and have now started reading her diaries.
Tonight to my friend’s open mic night, but will carry on looking at new music for the opera co before then.
Birthday greetings LLFL and I’m missing Madeleines adventures🤔🌺
Good morning all, just lost my long post.
Enjoy China and family Whiteswan happy birthday Llfl
and I hope your brother continues to improve GagaG.
Happy Birthday llfl, have a lovely day.
whiteswan have a wonderful holiday with your DS and his family.
Thankyou lovely virtual friends. I can’t wait to give my family huge hugs. My little almost three year old grandson has started with temper tantrums so that will be fun. We have been warned.
We fly at lunchtime tomorrow and will be with them lunchtime Tuesday.
Happy Birthday Ladyleftfieldlover 🎁
