Good morning all, it's 6°C n Glasgow.
I have woken with excrutiating pains in my left leg, hip to roes. I think I may have overdone things yesterday.
Susan, that must be so worrying and annoying.
Belated birthday greetings, Llfl. I hope you had a lovely day.
Yesterday was rather stressful. There was not a seat to be had at 10am Mass.
I had a rather unpleasant altercation with a young couple( I had taught the man and knew the family well.) They arrived at the last minute and parked their large pram in front of the main exit doors, squeezing themselves in beside the choir.
When I asked them to move, because it was a health and safety issue, they stormed out, then the young woman had a full blown meltdown, saying I had embarrassed her. It was so ridiculous.
I offered to find them a seat, but they insisted the pram had to stay with them, which was impossible.
They came up with all sorts of ridiculous and unreasonable arguments, for the parish being at fault and no seats being available. I suggested, that if they had come in time, they would have been able to obtain a seat.
She then shouted at me, that I didn't know what was going on in her life.
I replied that the same applied to my life! I was in tears.
We did have a few lighter moments. At the later Mass, a lady, whom I know well, ( I taught her daughter) arrived with her mother in a wheelchair, complete with oxygen tank. The P.P insisted, that she sit in the front row. All through Mass, there was a very loud noise, like a text being delivered. The young curate was starting to get annoyed. It was only at the end of Mass, that I realised, it had been the alarm on her oxygen tank.
She had been sitting on the tube!!!
Her daughter came to me to say that, they hadn't wanted to sit at the front, due to the oxygen and the proximity of the candles, but the P,P had insisted.
Cue a discussion with an already stressed P.P. Could I get him to understand, how concerned the lady was.
At the end of Mass, a lady I have never seen before, came to us, to give us a long lecture about candle safety. The candles on the altar, were apparently not safe. We could not get rid of her, despite advising her to speak to the P.P.
We were properly scunnered, ( a good Scottish word), by the time we left.
What really annoys me, is that not one of the complainers and moaners, had lifted a single finger to help with the move from the church, However, these good Christian people are very quick to criticise. 😪
However, something really uplifting happened. I was trying to deal with an issue in the foyer, when I heard applause. Someone said to me, that it must be nice to be appreciated. I had no idea, what they meant.
Apparently, the P.P had announced, the move wouldn't have happened, if it hadn't been for the young sacristan and myself.
The congregation, then gave a round of applause. 😊
When I got home, I decided to do a cull. I took bags on Friday to the charity shop and have another three today. After losing so much weight, when I was so unwell, I have put it all (and more) back on. 😪
I haven't even touched the summer stuff.
I also managed a little weeding before dinner, To my surprise, DH had weeded my orchard. He is taking his gentle activity seriously. He never weeds!
However, his BP is stuck at 180.😪
I'm off to church to tidy up after the weekend. I am becoming a groupie.😄
DH has offered to come to the charity shop and pick up a Sainsbury's parcel with me. I think he just wants out. There is a first time for everyone.
I wish you all pleasant day.
