It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?

We had a fairly substantial lunch out, so I’ve just had some toast and pate, and dh is going to make himself a couple of eggs on toast.

I had breaded plaice, chunky chips and fresh runner beans. Dessert was a small cherry pie with cream.

Chicken and vegetable stir fry followed by plum crumble and custard.

Right! I think I may be herded out of town for this, but here goes anyway...

What is supper? Meals for me used to be: breakfast/dinner/tea up until I left London in the 70's, then when I got married and moved to Oxfordshire it became breakfast/lunch/dinner, but I've never knowingly prepared a supper. From what's being said it sounds like lunch or dinner to me, I always assumed supper was a light meal, like sandwiches or a slice of cake sort of thing.

Spaghetti bologna and a big slice of lemon drizzle cake for afters

Salmon, asparagus and a jacket spud. Kept it simple as we had a big roast beef dinner yesterday.

We made mushroom, asparagus, pea risotto - again.

Asparagus season is short, enjoy it now.

We had venison pie. Leftovers from Sunday when I made a big stew in my slow cooker.
There is a man who has a stall at our town market and sells a bag of diced venison for £4.50. We got 5 adult portions out of it. Delicious.

Sorry, forgot the why, easy dinner as I do voluntary work on Mondays, leftover salady bits too.

Chicken and chorizo with rice and onions and mushrooms, had to use left over chicken from roast dinner on Saturday. It was delicious!

We have the main meal of the day at lunchtime. Todayhas been aphysically active day for me, cleaning this morning and off to B& this afternoon for bags f gravel for our new outdoor eating area. I was knackered by supper time. So we had a plateful of Indan style nibbles from Iceland, heated through in the oven. followed by fresh fruit.

A ready made salmon en croute from Charlie Bighams (I think) and asparagus because it needed to be used up!

Cumberland sausages with onion gravy, mash and sprouts (because they’re not just for Christmas).

Home made burgers and asparagus - the asparagus was the main ingredient but needed using up.

I've been busy planting in my new garden. Didn't feel like cooking.
So for supper I had a strange, but delicious combination.
Large, juicy prawns on a dressed salad and smothered in a Marie Rose sauce. With Albert Bartlett chips on the side. Oh and a glass of chilled Chardonnay. Sainsbury's Fudge Yogurt to follow.

Because I already have some left over suitable veg and I can just bung it in the oven.
