It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?

We had an early main meal with Mum doing the cooking today of ribbon pasta with small pieces of beef and peas and chopped spring onions in a tomato and basil sauce followed by home made apple strudel.😋
Am working from 6 pm tonight so will just have a slice of toast and a coffee before I go.

Spiced lentil and potato soup, probably with garlic bread.

Haven’t had lunch yet!
But as I’m going out for a late-ish lunch, supper may be a bowl of cornflakes, if anything at all.

Chana Aloo Curry, rice, fruit salad.

Bbq with children and grandchildren, chicken skewers, burgers and sausages - all made by our local butcher, salads and early potatoes out of the garden.

Hadn’t seen that the weather was changing to warm (at flipping last) so we have roast pork, carrots and broccoli (for GC) sweetheart cabbage and cauliflower cheese for DH and I.

Sunday lunch today so roast chicken, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, carrots roasted in butter and maple syrup and frozen cauliflower cheese - my excuse for using frozen is that it's gf and saves me faffing.

In the North we have lunch mid day (called dinner by some), then in evening we have tea (or dinner if your'e a bit posh)
Supper would be a little snack with a cup of tea or whatever if at all.
All meant lightheartedly so please don't take offence anyone.

I have just made some squash soup. I thought that it might be a bit too heavy for June but - we have flipping hailstones thundering down!!

I will have some for dinner at about 20.00 and himself will have it for supper when he returns at about 22.30!!

I am in a conundrum about what to do for tomorrow though - I was going to do some summery fish and salad; now am thinking that the oxtail stew might go better with the hail and dropped temperatures!!

I have recently sorted the freezers and labelled things!! So, at the mo I don't have the mystery of "is it gravy or is it chocolate sauce"!!! Feel quite smug!!!

Green pea penne pasta with green beans and almonds, canellini beans, gorgeous basil pesto. Salad, fruit, bread. Because basil is lovely now.

The why…because its decidedly chilly.

Chicken pieces with frozen root veg in the slow cooker with red wine and fresh thyme, mash and broccoli.

Last night's Chicken was delicious. DH can make that again.

Tonight we are having a Sainsbury's frozen chicken supreme with bacon and mushrooms. And, maybe frozen Cook roast potatoes and frozen peas - but don't tell anyone.

Hairy Biker’s chicken curry tonight.

Cod in mornay sauce, mash, broccoli and peas.

DH is cooking Hot Honey Chilli chicken.

I am trying to get him to cook more - just in case!

Chestnut mushroom omelettes, shredded lettuce & dressing
crinkle cut chips (Waitrose, the best)
soft fruit which needs using up before market day tomorrow glass of white wine
seeing as it’s Monday
herbal tea later

Home made tortilla with a spelt salad and pomegranate dressing.

Pork chops with blue cheese sauce tonight. With new potatoes and broccoli.
Just because I have been to Tesco’s

Cod (polenta coated and pan fried) homemade oven chips and mushy peas if i can be bothered to mush them - might just be peas.

A substantial minestrone, with pasta (obviously), a tin of butter beans and sundry veg, and garlic bread out of the freezer.

Salmon, rice, spinach, green salad, fruit.

Crispy tofu cauliflower curry for vegans who won't want fish. When our daughters and their families are round I typically prepare 2 mains.

Tonight, fresh salmon, baked in the air fryer. Parmentier potatoes with carrot and onion. Sweetcorn and spinach. Fresh fruit.

Yellow lentil dal, with spinach and cauliflower. And, since I remembered to get some, naan bread.

We don't eat feta, added 50g quinoa.

I also made brown vinegar dressing (IOW dressing choices).

I had never heard of farro before.
In the pic it looks like pearl barley, which I use quite a lot in winter.
