Good morning from a bright but breezy Torbay. Yesterday was really cold meaning I didn’t enjoy being at our theatre for Props! Brrh!
Today we shall review last week's play performances at Wednesday Club and hope some of the cast might attend although it seems unlikely as they’re mostly of working age. I’ve been offered a small rôle in Yes, Prime Minister, our summer production.
In haste as DD2 is due to ring.
Happy hump day! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good Morning Wednesday 29th April 2026
(16 Posts)Good Morning all from a still breezy, cool but sunny central south coast.
We had a busy but fruitful day yesterday. First thing was a visit to the big Tesco so DH could use his £20 voucher before it expired. He stocked up on cider, beer and Murphy's (his recovery drink after a long bike ride). He is not a big drinker at all but does enjoy an odd cider or beer. I am obliged to be teetotal for health reasons.
Next, the new window cleaner turned up as promised and did a first class job. He has been booked to come every six weeks. Our next door neighbour has engaged him too.
After he went, we decided to visit the garden centre with my long list of "wants" and I was pleased to find everything on the list including a lovely jasmine which DH has planted adjacent to the honeysuckle on a trellis he put in last September with this in mind. It will be glorious to enjoy the scents when we have our patio doors open as it warms up. We plan a planting session on Thursday if I can resist starting today.
Finally, the postie called for the tracked parcel for the regimental museum so it is now on its way to a good home. I also received more information from the curator about my relative. It has been such a worthwhile exercise and very satisfying.
Today, our cleaners are due in an hour and DH will have left before then for his cycling club ride to the Isle of Wight, via the ferry from Portsmouth Harbour. It will be a long day for them but should be lovely in the sunshine. I might start planting some marigolds in one of my big pots and then it's choir tonight.
Kind thoughts as always of all with troubles or struggles of any sort. May the day bring some ease and comfort.
Oops, it should read guddle not guide. I know, I should check before posting. GrannyIvy I hope your granddaughter recovers quickly.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire and is going to stay with us all day, but it’s breezy. Yesterday I went to school in the car because rain was forecast but it didn’t come until evening and then not much. I feel rather down this morning for reasons I can’t put my finger on.
School was a bit chaotic because the room where the reading scheme books are kept had been used during recent exams as a place to dump things from other rooms and I couldn’t access the books we needed. It caused much time to be lost in an already tight schedule. I complained (nicely) and by the time I left it had been put back in apple pie order!
I must ring the firm who service my boiler this morning. The pressure in the boiler has dropped out three times this month and I have had to repressurise it each time. I hope it’s something with the boiler itself and not a leak on a pipe somewhere that I can’t see!
Writers group this afternoon, though it does seem a shame to waste the sunshine by sitting in the library.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning from Cambridgeshire. DH and I both awoke around 4ish and been reading our kindles and I’ve sorted my Ocado shop to be delivered tomorrow.
Our 20 year old DGD spent yesterday evening in A & E with a worsening cough and breathlessness but just heard chest x-ray and bloods are normal and she is resting at home now. They think some kind of viral illness but son in law developed bad asthma in his thirties so a bit concerned. She had asthma as a small child.
Not sure what I will do today probably a walk this morning and gardening and ironing later. DH will go bowling after lunch.
Roses&L I’m so sad to hear everything is all taking so long to organise so very stressful for you 💐
Hope everyone has the best day possible 🌷
Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny, chilly, very windy corner of Somerset.
Nothing of note here other than Mr C has been raising the roof sneezing. He says hay fever, I suspect a cold. Watch this space.
The car can be collected today, I’ve suggested I go and Mr C stays put, he has other ideas I fear as he wants to inspect the work. That could of course happen here. Other than car collection no idea how the day will pan out. I’m happy with that.
Hope painting common sense prevails grandmattie.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning, the sun’s shining here in south Glos, unlike yesterday which stayed gloomy, cold and damp all day. We didn’t get to Dyrham to see the tulips, neither of us fancied wandering around in the cold so that’s for another day.
We went out for coffee instead, a very nice cafe in the next village.
Today I’m test driving the Aygo, it’s an older car with very little mileage, in pristine condition. It’s automatic and I’m rather apprehensive to be honest but I’m sure it will be fine.
Let’s hope today goes well for us all

Morning all from West oxfordshire.
I have a dental appointment at 9 am - just a check up.
Not sure about the rest of the day. I will post my great nephew’s birthday present at some point. There is ironing too. OH must visit his bees. He can’t keep putting it off!
Have a good day.
Good morning from Shropshire.A chilly start but due to warm up later.
I find I don’t know what to say some days too baubles. Our life seems to be all or nothing although I enjoy the quiet times as well as the busy times.
We will collect DGD from one activity later, take her for something to eat and then onto another activity.
Thinking of all with worries and struggles and wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌷
Good morning Mick and all from Morecambe Bay where we are promised a good day weatherwise.
A walk in the woods will start the day, but we have nothing else planned.
I have plenty of to do in the garden but we may just head off into the Lakes for the day. DH and Crazy dog are still both fast asleep so I’ll know more when they stir.
Take care everyone.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and still dry. Baubles I rarely have anything of note to say! I like hearing about others lives. GrandMattie that is prodigious baking indeed! Bellasnana enjoy your walk with Milo.
Yesterday was another pleasant day with the boys before and after school/nursery. Back to playing at shop with dgs2. Dgs1 was a bit disappointed his new ball needed blown up and I didn't have the wherewithall. However his daddy managed it when I took the boys home. I visited a friend for an hour in the morning with her birthday present and we had a nice catch up.
Today I have a chiropodist appointment at nine then I'll nip to the school library to tidy it up. Then back home for the rest of the day. I've been putting it off, but I must tackle the boys room. It's a bit of a guide, with toys all over the place. So that's my plan for today. Have a good day all.
Good morning from bright and cool South Lanarkshire.
I’ve started this post and realised I’ve got no idea what to say. My life is fairly quiet I’ve realised, so there’s nothing of note to chat about. Yesterday’s shift in the shop was uneventful but pleasant. In the evening there were only four of us at the yarn group, our numbers are dwindling and we can’t manage the big displays we’ve had in the past but we did a fair amount of planning.
Today DHhas his post surgery appointment at the hospital and other than that there’s not much happening.
Have a good day everyone.
grandMattie you are a marvel! As to the painter situation, 🤦🏼♀️
Good morning from Malta where the forecast is for a sunny day with a high of 23°C.
Had a lovely day yesterday with my friends. I took them to the north of the island and we had a good catch up over coffee.
I was home by 4pm in readiness for my treasures who arrived in high spirits and stayed until 7pm. They must get sick of hearing how much I love them but they are the sweetest little chaps and we laugh so much at silly things. They warm my heart.
Today is furry grandson day, Milo dog will arrive fairly soon so their cleaner can work her magic in peace. I will take Milo for a walk, I enjoy having him as he’s good company and a walk somehow has more purpose with a dog!
Thoughts with all who are troubled for whatever reason, I hope today brings some joy to you all.☀️
Good morning from Bristol. (My birthday present) Alexa tells me that it’s 4C out. Brrr.
I spent the morning yesterday, baking. I made a coconut sponge, about 6 dozen biscuits (2 flavours) and some flapjacks. Yes, I know it’s a lot, but next week, the FAB cafe is hosting one of its live performances and some 100 people attend. I like to have enough done so I don’t wear myself out the day before…
We had a funny situation on the estate. The promised scaffolding lorry turned up at 0900 with not a clue where to put it up. The painters (due the day before) arrived at 0930 and waited for the (brilliant) temporary manager then came a bit after 10. She showed them what to paint - the outside, which is obvious. Cue the scaffolding lorry to come, reverse here, move there, reverse there…. They seem to have spent the day unloading the lorry. Nothing has been put up.
The painting was due to start on Monday - nothing yet. They don’t need scaffolding to prepare/sand/paint the doors at the bottom of stairs, etc., but that would be too easy!
We have a meeting with Mr. Teflon’s line manager this afternoon. How many more layers of management do we need to get anything done? She’s in for a rough ride!
I trust everyone has a good day, no disasters…
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
