Not really sure I like it. A tangle of bare legs is not very dignified.
It’s the kind of family holiday snap that I’d only want to show to close friends and family.

Is it just me?

I love it. A very happy and relaxed family photo.

Wish they'd stop all the photos and nature videos-it's all so showy, "look at us", "aren't we wonderful"-I find them nauseating.

Beans12 you're entitled to your view, I wonder if it extends to any other families or couples that put themselves in the limelight?

^Good Luck removing the grass stains^

I doubt that will be Catherine’s problem!

Most definitely it wont be

The 11th birthday photo, today.

Lovely and natural 🙂

But… has it been altered? It’s an odd crotch grabbing pose.

The more I see the photograph, the more uncomfortable it makes me personally feel.

It is the legs.
Positions can have meanings.
[not going to spell it out].
Princess Charlottes' legs in particular make me wince, and especially as she is 11 now.

Maybe I am overthinking.
If just me, no worries.

Oreo Sat 02-May-26 13:30:54

I think she really had her hand in the jeans pocket, but altering things on the photo has made the hand appear very low.

If you enlarge the image you will see what I mean.

I agree with you, and think it’s another badly changed and edited photo of them all.

Again for a professionally taken photo which is released to the world it's not a very good composition.

Lovely and natural 🙂

Beautiful girl.

A beautiful natural photo of 11 year old Charlotte, finding her own style. I love the blue nail polish and ring on her right index finger, very edgy 😉🤗.

Rosie51 Sun 03-May-26 00:50:38

I think some people see too much in photos and actually she just has her closed hand in front of her left leg. The forensic analysis of a family snap is somewhat OTT in my opinion.

Usedtobeblonde Sun 03-May-26 03:37:58

I was very surprised at the blue nail varnish and I think the nails could even be false ones.
Her GGM would not have approved.

TheSunRisesInTheEast Sun 03-May-26 03:44:11

It's a nice sign that William & Kate let Charlotte do what other little girls do, it would be nice to think mother and daughter have pamper sessions together at home and when they're not "on show" I would imagine that their home life is much like anyone else's family life 🥰.

MartavTaurus Sun 03-May-26 07:56:59

The Queen used to wear only Ballet Pink nail varnish, didn't she? Boring! 😆

I like Charlotte's blue nails. What else do you with your mum on holiday in Cornwall after you've walked the dogs and climbed a few trees with your cheeky brothers? She's certainly not allowed to wear it to school, but this is her down time.

Usedtobeblonde Sun 03-May-26 08:36:21

I wasn’t shocked, just surprised especially in a birthday “ official” photograph.
Times are changing.

Give them a break! They are casual holiday pictures, not formal ones. A girl with 2 brothers needs times to be girly and nail varnish is such a trivial thing, almost like face painting at that age.

On the other side, the message is that 10 year old princesses are just ordinary 10 year old girls doing and liking the things that other 10 year old grls like and do

latedecember1963 Sun 03-May-26 09:19:56

I hope that Charlotte continues to just enjoy wearing her nail varnish when she doesn't have to comply with school uniform rules.

She's 11 years old and will have years ahead of her having her fashion choices picked apart by the media.
Bet her brothers don't come in for the same scrutiny!

I've been sorting through boxes of old family photos recently and some of my tween/teen choices were interesting at times.
At least I only had my Mum and Dad passing coment.

I agree. In fact I am rather horrified what some posters are reading into the photos.

Apparently blue nail varnish is in at the moment!

It was green not long ago. Blue's nicer 😀

It's an official photograph.

They are a photoshoot done with the design brief saying casual holiday - and that is what we have.
