Personally I am not and avoid sitting in the Sun, it just makes me feel uncomfortable. Then again I don't like extremely cold weather and prefer the temperatures in Spring and Autumn. How about you is Summer and high temperatures something that you like or loathe?

Musicgirl Sat 02-May-26 17:26:42

I like warm weather - up to around 25 degrees. I cannot sit in the sun for long, though, because I am very fair skinned and burn easily. I never tan, either. When I was young and foolish I even managed the feat of sunstroke in Birmingham.

No, it brings me out in cold blisters.

No. I've had one melatoma removed and don't really want to encourage any more.

No. Factor ‘duffle coat cream’ on my face all year round.
I had a cancer scare with a mole on my ear. I was terrified they were going to chop off part of my ear. Luckily a fatty growth.

Yes, I love the sun, it makes the day shine too. I wear factor 50 though, and a hat. The best feeling is drinking my coffee outside first thing in the morning, knowing it’s going to be a beautiful day.

Yes!!!!

Do you mean like cold sores? I get those if I’m in the sun too long, but I get them without the sun too.

Although I'm pretty old, I'm pretty active and high temps don't suit me anymore. I love a blue sky and being able to go outdoors without a coat but I'm well aware that my skin doesn't need a tan so I cover up. I have a lot of younger friends and I'll sometimes say "look at my neck" it's so obvious which bits got the sun damage!

Bring it on... Sun sun and more sun for me. Flip flops have been on for a couple of weeks, shorts out today in the garden.
I hate "winter" months, it just rains all the time. It's not cold just wet and miserable.

I’ve never liked being hot and avoid the sun when I can.
I have one of those Rice Krispie things by my eye but it’s under my glasses frame and I usually wear a sun hat as I can’t open my eyes in sunshine, so I don’t think it’s been caused by the sun.

Life is not fair. Husband is a red head won’t wear sun screen but now keeps out of sun in middle of day. He used to burn horribly, many many times but he never learned At the age of eighty has never had any sign of sling cancer Me, I am very careful but had a small lesion removed a couple of years ago

I love the summer and sunshine . I feel much happier if the suns out and the skies are blue . I was a sun worshipper in my youth . I tan easily and used to wear factor 8 !!! . For the past 35 years I’ve used factor 30 and use moisturiser with a high factor.
I also use a gradual self tanning body lotion.

Warm sun without wind, in my sheltered garden, is bliss but come summer when the heat is stifling and the sun is sending out its most aggressive UV, no not for me.

I love the sun, I've Mediterranean blood so it's hard wired to not love it sunshine Although once it gets over 28 degrees, these days that's it! higher temperatures I find quite intolerable, I don't think they're good for the body, let alone the skin. I'm glad I don't live in Australia, as fabulous as it is in other respects, because of the extreme heat. On the other hand, I'd hate to live in a cold country, such as Canada, even in more temperate Vancouver, it just rains all through the winter we were told when we were there, dreary, grey weather affects my state of mind.

REKA Sun 03-May-26 08:34:31

Having lived in the Middle East and Mediterranean I adore some heat. We don't get enough in the UK.

MarieElla Sun 03-May-26 09:58:31

I love the British summers as I grew up in Ireland and they were grim!
I now wear factor 30 and tan slowly.

Witzend Sun 03-May-26 10:16:37

Having lived for many years in much hotter climates (summer temps up to 50 and been pretty much used to it) I now really dislike anything over about 25 deg.

I recently said no thanks to joining an extended family holiday in Southern Spain in high summer. Even in the Bordeaux area a couple of years ago (similar extended fam hol) I spent much of the day indoors with the fan on (no AC). Made myself useful however while they were all out in that heat by doing everybody’s washing and making monster apple crumbles (as requested by all the kids!

I have happily said yes please though, to another extended family holiday on N UK coast in July - shall be taking plenty of warm things though!

Curlywhirly Sun 03-May-26 10:52:28

I love the sun, but can no longer tolerate high temperatures. After years of sunbathing (now we know how damaging it can be) I only sit in direct sunlight for about 30 mins, (and not at all if it's too hot) and much prefer to sit in the shade.

Astitchintime Sun 03-May-26 10:54:56

I do like to get around 20 to 30 minutes of sun exposure during the day for Vit D purposes …..as for sunbathing for hours on end, that’s not for me!

I get them occasionally, but if I am inthe sun too long I will have three or four appear all at once. One horrendous holiday when i was in my 20s. Both lips were covered in them and I had to eat with a fork, putting food in my mouth with out my lips touching the fork. I had to drink through a straw.
