Good Morning Saturday 9th May 2026
(13 Posts)Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 5°C. Last night, the sun was so blinding, I had to stop the car twice. I couldn't see a thing.
That's rather strange about the bleeding, Mick., one would gave expected that after three years, your wound would be well healed.
If it is still bleeding, you really should seek help.
Today is First Communion Day for one of the Parish schools. I was in the hall, until 9pm last night, covering chairs. It looks beautiful.
While we were inside, the P.P was outside, planting bedding plants.
There were five of us doing it, from both schools. We always help each other out. ♥️
DH is still quite unwell, every so often, going rogue. 😔
I told the registrar in the hospital, she had wasted her time on all that training. She should just consult DH for advice, he knows best.😉
Glad to hear some happy news today, it's lovely to receive surprise visits from grandchildren.♥️
Gaga, what a worry for you. I hope you receive positive news today.
Have a love Saturday folks.
Good morning from King’s Cross Travelodge after a good journey home via TGV from Basel and Eurostar from Paris. En route, I managed to hurt my troublesome left thigh (an old injury from December 2024) leaving my wonderful DH to deal with all the luggage! He was very patient throughout.
On the final full day we visited Lucerne and the Bernese Oberland which was awe inspiring. A memorable trip, including rail and cable car.
Happy weekend, everyone! 🥰💐😀
Good morning from Shropshire.A bright start with rain forecast for later.
We enjoyed a lovely evening with the grandchildren yesterday. Both went to bed when asked and were asleep very quickly as were we.
No plans for today as we are not sure when DD is coming to collect the children. If the rain holds off there is a tennis taster session we will take them to.
Thinking of all our absent friends and all with worries and struggles and wishing everyone the best day possible 🌷🦩
Good morning from a sunny Cornwall. More painting today, there's a surprise! Yesterday I took over cooking the evening meal at my son's when he suddenly discovered he was supposed you take my grandson to cricket training. My granddaughter and I had salmon, salad and new potatoes, yum.
I had an unexpected potential visitor too, pictured trying to work out where to enter my flat. He didn't succeed. 😀
Good morning all from cool South Lanarkshire.
Definitely worth getting that checked Mick.
My feet are feeling the benefit of the podiatrist’s ministrations, it’s such a treat.
Today I’m meeting a friend I met at the first Gransnet Glasgow meet up almost fifteen years ago. I’m looking forward the day.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and cloudy. No rain yesterday. Mick definitely see your doctor. GrandMattie what a nice surprise for you.
Yesterday I did an hour in the school library where I saw dgs2 as the nursery use it too. All the group were very sweet. After that, I did little at home. I pottered listlessly for a while. Dinner was out of the freezer.
Today I will wash the sheets and dust and hoover. Firstly I'm meeting my friend for breakfast at the garden centre. I really could be doing with buying some stuff but she never wants to shop. As I give her a lift home, I'll leave it today. Possibly homemade pizza for dinner if I can be bothered to go to aldi for food. Have a good day all.
Good Morning from an overcast Spain with rain forecast. We’re off on a day trip.
I hope you can speak to your Surgery first thing Mick, better safe than sorry.
Best wishes to all. X
Good Morning all from the central south coast where we may get another nice day. 8 degrees on the garden thermometer so still to warm up.
I am waiting for news of my brother on the Isle of Man. My niece will let me know later how things went. I don't want to hassle her for updates as she has such a lot on her plate with 11-year old twin girls, two older boys, a long haul pilot husband plus a business to run and all the hospital visiting she is doing adding to her burdens. She knows I am concerned.
The new patio furniture didn't arrive yesterday and is now scheduled for Monday. That's fine. No one has taken the free older set so far but it will go eventually I am sure.
DH is not going out with his cycling club today as he had an upset stomach yesterday. The planned ride is a longer than usual one so, unusually, he is being sensible and staying home. He was fine by the evening but I am pleased to have him here today. We are going to do the accumulated laundry instead!
Thinking as always of all our GNs with troubles or worries of any kind and hoping the day brings some comfort and ease.
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset should be dry and bright today.
Thank you all for your good wishes yesterday. I was quite overwhelmed. We spent the day gently, cards to open, many messages to respond to, a trundle along the coast to a favourite pier, a garden centre stop then home via a parcel pickup. Finally I have the jeans I’ve been searching for.
It was a day for surprises grandmattie, our elder granddaughter appeared with beautiful flowers early evening. She had unexpected space from university exams due to a timetable restructuring. Such a treat.
Today will see us heading along two motorways for a family lunch. The family favourite Chinese restaurant is worth the trip, it also means we’ll descend on our sons home afterwards and cake crumbs will be his to deal with. I feel very fortunate.
It sounds as if you could do with a chat with a medic mick. I’m sorry if you’ll miss your trip.
Wishing you all the best day it can be.
Good morning from Malta where it is hazy and the high is going to reach 27°C.
Had a lovely morning at the boys’ Sports Day yesterday. It was very well organised and a lot of fun. I was torn between watching the boys and watching DD3 with her class of little ones. I was proud of them all.
On the way home I did a bit of shopping and, rather impulsively, bought an air fryer having said I didn’t want one!
I cooked a bit of salmon in it for dinner and it was good. Saved putting the oven on.
I hope you manage to get on your coach trip, Mick.
I’m going for coffee with my upstairs neighbour this morning then later there’s tennis to watch.
Wishing you all a good weekend.☀️
Good morning from a hazy Bristol. I too can see the half moon from my bedroom window.
I’m sorry the operation scar has been bleeding, Mick, surely it shouldn’t have reopened?
My walk to Spanish was pleasant as usual, lots of beautiful peonies were open. I’m very fond of them.
In the afternoon, I pottered then went to see a neighbour, taking a bunch of flowers and foliage picked from our hedges and my beds. Very pretty.
When I got home, I was tidying up the sink ready for dinner later, when the doorbell went. It was DD and Iris! Iris was taking part in some of the 24 hour dance-athon put on by Flamingo Chicks: she wanted to learn the Irish dancing being taught. She managed 30 minutes, but wanted to do some other stuff a bit later.
Since DGD was at choir practice near here too, and they had a couple of hours to kill before the next session, they decided to visit.
It was incredibly surprising as they never come to visit!
Today, I’m serving coffee at church - unfortunately, I’m with a lady I find very difficult to work with. Ah well, it’s only for a couple of hours.
I hope all your problems and sadness are reduced this weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight and its dry and I have also got the moon as well a half moon this morning in Brackley .
Todays plans supposed to be on a coach trip to Nene Valley railway with Fish & Chips .

Mick
