Shopping

I like a browse but now having a stick for support and a cross body bag I am very good at getting shopping bags and my paraphenalia muddled. I have had one or to trip type falls because of this therefore I am under armed guard (DH) now or my sister/daughter for major shopping. I buy mainly on line but like a bi monthly visit with one of my minders.

I dislike actual shopping and only frequent the charity shop in our village, or shop online. We really don’t need that many clothes and only replace items worn out, I'm very aware of the amount of global landfill.
Anything bought new, a rare event, is online, I know my size and only a couple of times have made returns.

I used to go to different towns or cities in this area regularly with a friend who loved shopping. It was a day out and we'd have a nice lunch too. Sometimes we'd visit somewhere other than shops (a cathedral or two!).
However, after my friend died I only went shopping if I needed to and now not at all as I just can't manage a trek round the shops. Online shopping has its disadvantages as sometimes items have to be returned which is a chore.

I don't mind food shopping, but hate any other kind. Thank god for online shopping - although I was actually in Primark this morning looking for a couple of pairs of cheap leggings, and cue much excitement when I actually found one of my favourite rock band t-shirts, and in my size! So I am a very happy bunny today.

Many moons ago we went on holiday to the seaside with my brother, his wife and wee DD. We went for our children to enjoy the freedom of the beach and the sea; they went to go shopping! Not a good fit!
They live in suburbia and I thought they would love the sea sand and fresh air ... but no ... it was just a chance to see new shops and buy more things!

I’d rather stick pins in my eyes than shop for clothes.
With the demise of the shops in our town I can’t be bothered to go further afield.

I hate clothes shopping. both in shop and on-line. The reason being the erratic sizing of women's clothes. My clothes range in size from 16 to 22, l to XXl. Some of the smaller sizes are bigger than the larger sizes even in the same shop. I haven't a clue what size I am. Does anyone else have the same problem?

I’m not a fan of browsing in shops and only do so if I have a particular reason. I find more pleasure in wandering outdoors.

I rarely buy new clothes and in recent years the few items of clothing I’ve purchased have been from Vinted.

I think I've always felt the same as you Luckygirl13, after moving somewhere new many years ago, I was excited to be invited to a trip to the nearest City (4 of us, all ladies) and was eagerly anticipating the Abbey, the medieval tunnels and the norman ruins.
No, it was wall to wall relentless shopping!
It did cross my mind in the car that I was dressed the most suitable gear for stone spiral staircases

I make an exception for garden centres - such joyous places!

My DD has an overflowing wardrobe - I cannot imagine why she might need any more clothes! Luckily they are not poor ..

I enjoyed it when I was younger and had less pain to deal with. Finding a bargain was greatly valued. Now though, that's another story - I just can't walk around shops for more than a few minutes before agonising pain almost reduces me to tears. I have resorted to the little electric vehicles that Sainsbury's offer on one or two occasions but find that they are not always charged or available. Also dislike the dodging necessary to negotiate the other shoppers! As you say, "thank goodness for online shopping".

I hate food shopping .
I used to love cooking! And now I don't!
It's only tolerable if I can get a delivery and I can't always.
It means lugging it home in my grannie trolley.
I enjoy browsing round charity shops.Plant nurseries and book shops are more enjoyable.
Just recently I've had an overhaul of my summer wardrobe and had to fill in the gaps with trips mainly to Primark .
I feel in a panic whilst I'm there.
The price attracts me and the range has improved enormously,but I feel as though I've been on a marathon .

I have enough stuff/clothes/shoes/bags etc to last me till my dying day all from my shopping trips in the past.
So I no longer want to shop and the lack of good shops in my local 2 towns has put me off anyway even more.
My shopping friend died 6 years ago and it has necee been much fun since as well. She enjoyed it so much which made it fun for me too.

I just go when I really have to, once a week to the supermarket is my usual shopping outing.
I have never been much of a moocher, I know what I want and go get it and back home. My partner on the other hand will wander around shops for ages, give him some charity shops or markets and he is happy. He manages to spend a morning in town easily (though not often spending anything!) but I rarely go.

I have always hated shopping. Taking my GDs shopping in their early teens was my idea of torture.
Now I usually decide what I want. If I can get to see and feel it, eg at M& S , I will go to the shop. Other wise I buy on line and send it back if not up to scratch.
I do like food shopping. But I do have a list.

I go through peaks and troughs of shopping.
Partly I suppose depending on how much more stuff I need.
Lately, nothing, so a trough.

I no longer enjoy large shopping malls. Luckily I live near a lovely market town with a good selection of the better chains and many independent small shops.
Unfortunately not much in the way of men’s clothing, but DH only likes certain brands anyway.

My SinL in Cheshire is a Gold medal shopper - she lives to shop - out every day, spending.
Honestly, it’s just not for me.

I am about to get ready to go to a large shopping mall near me.

I am trying to dissuade DH from accompanying me as I just want to mooch . Specifically beauty products (I fancy a change), The White Company(I admit to being rather obsessed) and I need some mid season tops (after a wardrobe clear out I seem to have high summer or winter, nothing in between).

I will also stop for a coffee and pastry and partake in a favourite pass time of people watching…

I don’t like enormous stores but am happy to go in and browse normal size shops for a while.
I do hate having to shop for a certain item and prefer to find thing in a serendipity type of way😁

I have always hated browing in shops. I shop for purpose and that's it. My dear friend couldn't understand why I didn't enjoy it. She could shop for hours and usually found bargains. That was my idea of hell too
