Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is dry but cold. I slept a straight seven and a half hours last night.

We had a lovely end to the day yesterday - I managed some time on my knees in the garden waging war on weeds. Work still to do, but I’m pleased with the start. I also found a hefty sycamore sapling growing at the back of my rhododendrons which had found it’s way through the fence to next door’s garden so I cut it out at the root with the ratchet loppers before it caused a proper nuiscance and hope it won’t sprout again.

A short session at school this afternoon. If it stays dry I shall walk there and back.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey clouds and it still feels cold
Sorry to miss your birthday yesterday Marydoll, I hope you enjoyed your special day 🎂🥂🎁
I’ve a final volunteering session this morning and then no more for a while. It’s been a busy week and I’m looking forward to a bit of a rest over the weekend and hopefully a potter in the garden if it stays dry
Safe travels ginny and enjoy the wedding celebrations at the weekend
Hopefully you’ll soon be able to enjoy your garden again corner, it’s taken a while
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s bright and sunny here so far, showers are forecast. We had a brief thunderstorm yesterday afternoon, with hail stones, just in time for the children to come out of school! DD2 got rather wet collecting the children but DD1 was in London and they didn’t have the storm. I managed another half an hour pulling out weeds in the front garden, then my back had had enough.
The 11 year old was relieved to have finished the SATs tests yesterday. An anxious time ahead for all those who are taking GCSEs, A levels and other exams this month and next.

It’s bingo at lunchtime today, so an enjoyable day for me with friends.

Thoughts, as ever, to all those who are struggling at the moment, hoping life is kinder to you today.

Have the best day possible everyone - Friday again!

Good morning, it’s bright and breezy here on the hillside in south Glos.
We had a torrential hailstorm yesterday afternoon, thunder and lightning, the complete works. Much needed rain but the garden took a battering from the pea-sized hail. The sky was black and very biblical in appearance!
Bigger dog hid herself under the table in my craft room, it’s her ‘safe place’ when she’s frightened. Tiddler is oblivious, I honestly don’t think anything fazes her!
I do hope everything goes well for all the DGCs doing exams, I still can feel that awful feeling about them despite it being nearly 55 years ago! I hated exams, tests etc despite probably knowing that I could do them successfully if I stopped panicking.
Best wishes to you all x
🌹

Good morning from a very cold overcast day in Leicestershire.
The heating is coming on every morning!

Dog walk first thing then we are going to the podiatrist and having coffee before a quick visit to M&S.
This afternoon it is Pilates.

Happy belated birthday greetings to Marydoll I hope you had a lovely day.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Morning Mick, morning All from a dry, cold corner of Somerset

Some very heavy showers yesterday, the same forecast today.

Yesterday went miraculously to plan. Chores completed, groceries unpacked, and relief as rat-gate is finally progressing. A pest controller arrived, he agreed with us about the location of a nest and set to work. Patience needed for a month and with luck we can relax outside again. A quick trip out to return a wrong sized item and collect a replacement and the day had gone.

A decent one ahead today. Volunteering this morning, some lunch then a cuppa with a young friend recovering from recent cancer treatment. Must remember to collect a prescription on my way home. Mr C is happy (relieved I think!) to have a quiet day, I noticed a jigsaw had appeared.

Good news bellasnana.

Best wishes to all, have the best day you can.

Good morning from a bright and sunny corner of La Sarthe.

I’m pleased to hear more positive news about your great nephew, Bellasnana and hope he goes on to make a full recovery at home.

My DGS2 in Cheshire is busy with GCSE's currently but has worked hard in the revision period so I hope he does well. I’m speaking to his Mum (DD2) shortly so should hear more then.

Wishing everyone a good day, whatever betides. 💐🦩💐🥰💐

Good morning, I haven’t looked outside yet so not sure about the weather.
Hope you enjoyed your birthday Marydoll. Pleased to read Bellas news.
Choir last night was good fun but hard work as we went over quite a few new ( to me) songs.
I have a manicure appointment this morning and a few more things to put in my case. DD1 is collecting me at lunch time, We are off for the weekend in the in Suffolk. Tomorrow I’ll attend our choir leaders wedding.choir leaders wedding . It promises to be an unusual one. It will also be a treat to have DD1 all to myself.
Hoping you all have the day possible.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and sunny. Bellasnana that's good news about the wee chap. Enjoy your catch up with friends. And you too baubles. GrandMattie best wishes to your dgd.
Yesterday I did an hour in the school library then picked up my prescription. Dgs2 came skipping over to see me on my way out. Hes a wee tonic. The library needs a good tidy. Superficially it looks fine, but I know it isnt! In the afternoon, I had a nap and then pottered about the house. Ds was at a black tie event in London and sent photos of the meal. They looked very fancy
Today I intend to get the ironing done finally. I might pull a few weeds too. I should have had the boys for a couple of hours but Dsil is unwell so their plans are cancelled. So a very quiet day for me. Have a good day all.

Good morning from S E Essex, the 11 yr old is still asleep, I will wake him around 7ish.

It’s, gym and ironing today - whoopee!

(((Hugs))) to all in need.

Good morning from Sheffield

It’s my early morning start today
Friday morning big clean and then work at 9
My friend will be round at lunchtime . She is going to keep an eye on my garden while we are away so needs a tuition session on the hosepipe.
I have to change the bed as well. Why I need to do this before I go away I’m not sure, but I have to come home to clean sheets

Thinking of all the young people who are facing exams these next weeks. I do feel for them. It’s such pressure, most of it from themselves.

Take care everyone flowers

grandMattie Fri 15-May-26 05:49:38

Good morning from a grey Bristol. We only had a few, tiny showers, not enough to really wet anything. We’re supposed to have more today.
Yesterday was generally ok, nothing much to report.
Poor DGD was in a real state as she has her GCSE history exam this morning and, although it’s one for which that she has worked hardest, it’s the one she feels least ready for. She is very ambitious and is hoping for As in everything. One feels so helpless in such situations.
On the other hand, Iris was being completely charming!
Spanish this morning. I hope it won’t rain on my way there.
This afternoon, my neighbours are coming for our regular haircut.
Such good news, bellas; may othervposters be able to have the same.

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

Glad to hear that the little one is okay Bella.

Belated birthday wishes Marydoll, I hope you enjoyed your visit down the valley.

Yesterday was very pleasant, apart from the weather. My nursery pick up coincided with one of the heavy downpours which punctuated the day so the child and I were both a bit soggy.

The children were all in good form and there were no big feelings at all.

Today I’m looking forward to meeting my other South Lanarkshire Gransnet friend.

Wishing you all a good day.

Bellasnana Fri 15-May-26 05:19:15

Good morning from Malta where another hazy day is forecast with a chance of dirty rain and a high of 25°C.

I did some shopping yesterday then walked up to the village as I needed to go to the bank. It was a pleasant day so I stopped for a coffee on the way back, sitting outside to watch the world go by.

I watched the tennis in the afternoon but felt very tired and must have dozed off as I woke feeling awful. I don’t like daytime naps.

Good news from my niece, the wee man had managed a nap without needing oxygen so they were discharged in the afternoon after a worrying week in hospital.

Thank you for all your kind comments. My niece has been very anxious about this little boy from the start as he ended up back in hospital a few days after his birth with a potentially fatal virus. He also has a six year old cousin who had epileptic seizures aged 3 and now has severe developmental delays, will likely need care all his life and will never live independently, so it has always been in the back of her mind that it could be hereditary.

I’ve got Milo dog today so a windy walk will be on the cards. He will have to stay at home for an hour or two this morning as I’m meeting a friend for coffee.

Tennis to watch later so a good excuse to put my feet up (not that I need one 😄)

Hoping the day is kind to you all. ☀️
