Do you wear a wedding ring?

I didn't always wear my wedding ring even when I was married!
My daughter had it widened and now it is her wedding ring which I think is lovely.

I do wear my mum's gold chain which she never took off, and I never take it off either. I like to think it will be passed down when I'm gone...

I’d recommend you take pictures of yourself wearing anything precious that’s insured, if you don’t have the receipts or valuations. Years ago, I had difficulty proving ownership of something I’d had stolen, until a friend found an old photograph where my item was clearly visible. I’ve done this and of course there’s a timeline.

Unfortunately due to arthritic fingers I can no longer wear my wedding ring or any other rings. I don’t wear earrings either as I seem to get sore ears whenever I put them in. I’m not really into jewellery but would like to wear my wedding ring. Occasionally wear a bracelet and necklace.

I always wear my wedding ring and often my engagement ring and my mother's engagement ring too which is like an eternity ring.

Am I the only one whose fingers have got thinner even though I haven't? Really should have my rings made smaller.

I had my wedding ring cut off recently as it was too tight and causing pain in that finger. The jeweller said I should allow three months for the finger to recover before choosing a replacement. Sure enough the ring indentation is still very noticeable and the knuckle swollen even after three weeks.

Yes, I don't remove my small gold wedding ring.

I have lots of rings which I never wear, but I still wear my wedding ring. At one point I had to have it enlarged, but now my fingers have shrunk a bit so it is a bit big, especially on cold days.
On special occasions I also wear, on my right hand, my late husband’s wedding ring, held in place by a dress ring which I bought, with his approval, to celebrate the end of lockdown.

I haven’t worn my wedding ring for years (married nearly 52 years) and probably couldn’t now as I hurt my finger in a fall and have two adjustable rings on that finger. I have my mother’s engagement ring but it’s not my taste and probably couldn’t wear it now for the same reason. I do, however, wear her gold bracelet everyday and I think about her a lot. I do wear jewellery but nothing blingy. ☺️

I wear my rings and also my great-grandmother’s wedding ring. She used to work in the mills in Oldham and I often think of the hard work done by her hands while wearing this ring. I feel close to her although she died long before I was born.

I’ve been married 37 years and have never taken my wedding ring off . It’s a narrow band , so easy to wear . I’m on my second engagement ring , my first was a solitaire. We spent our 25 anniversary in South Africa and my DH bought me a 3 diamond ring there.
For those whose fingers have got smaller , I got my mum a tiny curly silicone thing which you wind around the back of the ring to stop it slipping off .it came from

I still wear my ring i felt weird without it even though a widow for nearly 6 years.
I had to have it cut off as arthritis had swollen my fingers and last summer when very hot they sweiied e en more and it became very uncomfortable. Inow wear it with the cut underneath as I can squeeze it more closed if hands cold and pull apart slightly if they swell. I thought about just buying a new one but in the end I couldnt😊

I've worn mine every day for 46 years, apart from a few weeks when I had a broken wrist and it had to be cut off when my arm was in plaster. I had to have the ring enlarged, but I felt naked without it on!

when i was getting married my husband did not want a ring, so i said no ring, no wedding. i was married for 18 years and widowed at 39, i still wear my ring, i had to get a bigger size, but i am still mrs and that is not going to change now at 62.

Yes, I did have some metal ones a while ago when I lost my engagement ring then found it again. It must have fallen off.

I haven't been able to get my wedding ring off for years now. I've got my mother's wedding ring on too. I would never want to take them off. Mine has been there for 56 years and taking it off would be like denying my marriage. I recently noticed that when I get texts from my GP they are addressed to "Ms". I've had that changed back to "Mrs". Calling myself "Ms" felt like whitewashing my husband out of existance.

I always found it very touching when i worked in care homes, seeing people so frail, with their worn thin wedding rings still on.

Still wear my wedding ring in widowhood. If I'm dressing up for something special I'll wear my engagement ring and the other special ring given to me by my husband.

I had to have mine cut off last year after being on my finger since our wedding day in 1971. It was becoming so tight, my finger was in danger. It’s been made larger and I wear it all the time.

I rarely wear mine. Thankfully, no arthritis but OH isn’t keen on going out so only wear it when venturing to a restaurant. I had three wedding rings but sold two.

I wear a silver ring, looks like an engagement ring with a large sapphire. I had it designed when I was with my ex-husband; we both paid for the stone and then I had it made into a ring for my wedding finger. My original wedding and engagement rings are so tiny (as was I 35+ years ago!) that I can only get them on my little finger now!

But anyway, we are divorced. However I still wear that ring as (a) its beautiful and not a "wedding band" as such and (b) it doesnt fit any other finger and if I try to move it around it feels so uncomfortable and "wrong" I can't sleep. It will be passed on to my eldest daughter and then to whoever is the next female in the family e.g., her daughter

Marriage 2 did but not change my name, wore a ring, when we got divorced when I was 72 as he was coercively abusive of course I don't wear one.

How would potential male friends know I was available?
