Bad dreams are very unsettling Grandmabatty sometimes they stay with you all day.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's just perfect temperature here for me .

Yesterday my df and I returned to a beautiful garden in East Lothian, a hotel where they serve tea and iced mocktails outdoors. It was her birthday but we agreed we could get used to the high life. It was just us for the first hour. Until a loud Dutch motorcyclist plus dog arrived to tell anyone who'd listen about his amazing travels.

He had a dog carrier on the back of his motorbike!

Before that I planted up my veg plot and finished putting handles on a set of mugs.

Today I'm off to the North east by bus, where it's cooler apparently, while the estate agent can show viewers around my house if there are any.

Bella I would have wept too.flowers

I hope everyone can enjoy this hot weather.
I'll pack a swimsuit and sunhat in case.

Good morning all from a hot and sunny North Leicestershire.

Not a lot planned today apart from recovering from yesterday. Thank you all for your good wishes. Dgd1 has been diagnosed with hormonal migraines but it took numerous calls to 111 and visits to 2 UCC to get it sorted. Her mum (DD1) suffers from really bad health anxietyso we have had lots of WhatsApps and phone calls. Hopefully, the medication will work and all will be calm.

Wishing everyone the very best day possible.

Good morning from an already hot Suffolk. I’m about to water the pots in the back yard before the sun gets there and then the beds down one side of the house which is west facing and in shade til the late morning.

A short dog walk along footpaths and fields and that is me done for the day. We’ll spend the rest of the day escaping the sun in the house and summerhouse and shady parts of the garden.

Good morning, I have not read the posts yet , will come back later.
We all had a lovely day yesterday at a local attraction. Making wood shelters, playing board games in a maze, tiny train among other things. Another BBQ , provided by SIL and some games in the evening which caused much laughter.
Today promises to be very hot so we won’t go far, just enjoy the house and garden and try to get MIL to drink more !
Wishing you all a pleasant day with a smile along the way.

Good morning,

Another very warm day ahead so will potter about indoors and perhaps find a shady spot in the garden later. It’s quite pleasant at the moment, but temperatures are set to soar this afternoon, so the fan will be working overtime.

We had a brief power cut yesterday, luckily short lived. Unfortunately, it resulted in someone’s house alarm going off repeatedly for 15 minute bursts until they got back from wherever they had been.

I’m hoping there won’t be another today.

Well, I hope you all have a good day and manage to keep cool and well hydrated.

💐 to all who are facing ill health or problems.

Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny 🌞 day in Northampton. Set to be 31°C this afternoon. I shall spend most of the day indoors apart from hanging out some washing shortly. There is very little shade in my garden.

I ventured out yezterday, scrubbed and hosed down the garden furniture, and then removed a.lot of weeds from between the stones under the pergola - that was more than enough to do in the heat. I would like to cut the grass but it is much too hot and to do it now while cooler I would be worried about disturbing neighbours having their bank holiday lie-in!

I am planning on making a large batch of sweet and sour chicken today so that will take up my morning, then an afternoon of reading and listening to music.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from another bright and sunny Black Country.

No walking group this morning far too hot., everyone in the WhatsApp group crying off. So just relax under the Gazebo in the garden

Had a call from DD yesterday asking if we would like to go to dinner, so went over picking up Mum on the way, spending a lovely few hours there.

After this week DGD2 has the bulk of her A Level exams in the following 2 weeks, so she is busy revising.

Wishing you all the best BH Monday possible.

Good morning all.
Just walked little pooch in the cool shady parts of our neighbourhood. The air was quite pleasant.

Yesterday went well. DS1 and DIL picked me up at 8.30 and we were with ds2 and family before 10. Traffic was good. Dgd4 looked well and is recovering very slowly but it will be a very long process. They are throwing everything at her with supplements, physio, outings to keep her spirit up. She couldn’t be better cared for.

Today I have Chimes group which I will get to by bus 🙏. I think it’s a Sunday service so might have to wait around. Hat, water and fan at the ready.
I have been offered a lift but it would cause them to get through heavy traffic, so 8m determined not to ‘be a nuisance’.

My lovely car sits abandoned on the drive. I still wait for decision on my appeal. Don’t think it’s going to happen 😢.

Kitty I hope your gd feels better today, and your Dd is more at ease.

Have a good day all. Keep cool

Good morning all from a hot and sunny south coast. I’ve jut watered the garden in my PJs.
Yesterday I had a lovely lunch with friends in Gunwharf Quays. Walking back to the ferry was tiring in the blazing sun because two of them kept stopping for a breather which makes my right knee grumble. I find it better to keep going.
I think it’s going to be a salad and ice cream day and reading indoors.
Hope everyone has a good day. Take care and stay cool.

Good morning from the east coast. We will have the lovely sea breeze.
We are going an hour down the coast to visit my uncle today. We have bought him a seat cushion to raise him up a little in his chair to make it easier getting in and out of. He’s really struggling with his mobility. We will visit mum at her holiday home too. We’ll get fish and chips on the way home and sit on the cliff top with them.

Yesterday we visited my dad and step mum. We sat all afternoon chatting on their patio with a lovely charcuterie board and wine. Dad and I staying the whole time in the shade under the parasol. DH was in and out of the shade and step mum who wouldn’t dream of sitting in the shade in the full hot sun. At 81 and looking like Madge off Benidorm without the cigarettes and scooter she isn’t going to change now. I’ve no idea how she does it. It was great to chat and catch up. My dad even with his hearing aids in still couldn’t hear me very well so I had to speak up. My step mum seemed to shout at him the whole time. He’s slowing up which frustrates her as she is as vibrant as ever and still working.

Wishing a lovely day for everyone in the sun or in the shade 🌞
Enjoy all celebrations today🎉
Thoughts to those with stress, illness or worries 💐

Good morning from Sunnyside Sandhills northwest coast. The weather is just right here and yesterday I went to my DS’s birthday party in the garden of his house further along the coast. It used to be an asparagus farm and of course in this weather we were all outside.

DS and friend played guitar and we had good company. As the area is national trust, the roads to the cottage we’re a mighty and Upton a bank holiday I wouldn’t bother, but this was a special occasion.

Today there is a sing around folk club meeting in town, but I think I’ll stay in my own garden, read a book and look at some new music.

Hope you have a good Bank holiday Monday 🌺

hollysteers Mon 25-May-26 08:43:06

I meant to say my DS’s friend’s birthday party, not my son’s.

hollysteers Mon 25-May-26 08:44:13

The roads were a nightmare (I should have previewed)

Good Morning from a sunny Durham. Unbelievably, we are forecast 29! Almost unheard of and hotter here than where DD1 is in Turkey! Her 14th wedding anniversary today - wonder if they’ve remembered.
Ventured down to the rental yesterday, mopped the floors and vacuumed - all fine and ready to go on Friday🤞.
DD2 is off to Majorca first thing tomorrow, so I’m going to collect her Little Dog this evening and I’ll walk him on the way home in nearby shaded woods. Before this, I’ll just sit in the garden, reading a new book.

Best wishes to all. X
