My aunt wore a perfume called moonwind by Avon in a blue bottle
my sisters favourite was in love by Norman hartnell my sister in law who as a young child I thought was so glamorous wore evening in Paris and would often allow me a little dab behind the ears this has been a brilliant thread

Olay anti ageing anti wrinkle face serum used it for years then they changed it for some reason never felt the same

I am another who lives the smell of Badedas bath gel. Haven't seen it in shops for a while.
I also remember from childhood being rubbed with camphorated oil in winter when coughs and colds were around.
Miss Anne French cleansing milk too. It left my face feeling fresh, unlike other products.

A little off the beaten track but I wonder if Aramis aftershave is still around? Now that was a REAL aphrodisiac for me back in the '70s. Ex husband wore it when we were courting and oooh, it was lovely! Well, it was to my youthful nose.

Wizened where did you manage to buy TCP? I cannot find anyone who sells it. I love the smell. It reminds me of scraped knees and Mum sitting me on the draining board to wash my wounds and dabbing on the stinging TCP. Best thing for mossie bites and cleaning up the skin scrapes that are a constant part of my life as an octogenarian with skin that tears like tissue paper.

I loved two perfumes that I have not smelt in years , Ma Griffe and Gin Fizz.

In the late 60s my sister-in-law-to-be bought me a bottle of Yardley Caprice. I adored it until I wore it to college one day. Another student walked into the room and said, “What’s that smell? It’s like window cleaner!” I was devastated! 😧

Aqua manda and I was bought a little lemon soap when I was younger it was from Bromley I loved it.

As a hard up student a very long time ago there was a lipstick everyone wanted called Jaune Rose, it went on rose pink but faded to a long lasting yellowish pink stain. It was expensive but different so we all knew when someone had 'indulged' !

And, sadly, Johnsons baby powder no longer smells of anything at all.
The lovely "baby" smell has gone.

Aqua Manda fragrance by Goya.

Very popular in the 1960's and then it vanished. Very tangerine scented - could be a wee bit overpowering but I stuck with it until it just died out.

I used to love Goya Gardenia Hair spray and ponds cold. Cream. So,many goodthings are no longer available.

I used to love those nail polishes with elegant screw tops - Cutex?
Possibly Joan Collin's polishes replicate that fifties style.

I had some as a gift at Christmas as an adolescent and fell asleep holding the heavy circular ball of scent.
