Several of you have said that you will be spending some of the Bank Holiday reading your book in the sunshine ( or the shade. ) So what are you all reading and enjoying at the moment? I am reading " This book made me think of you " by Libby Page and really enjoying it. I shall be sorry to come to the end of it.

I read pretty much anything and everything by Anthony Horowitz, but am just in the middle of The House of Silk, a Sherlock Holmes mystery. It is amazing that the estate holders of both Arthur Conan Doyle (in 2011) and Ian Fleming (2014) have entrusted this man to write new Sherlock and new Bond novels. He doesn't disappoint.

Grandmama

I have recently read Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus (I laughed and cried!); Happy all the Time by Laurie Colwin and The Bulgari Connection by Fay Weldon. I couldn't put any of them down.

My all time favourite book is All Passion Spent by Vita Sackville West. Read several times now.

Really enjoyed Lessons in Chemistry!

Baking Cakes In Kigali by Gaile Parkin.

I spotted it in a charity shop and got it because it looked interesting (and I bake cakes). It's a nice relaxing book, nothing too deep.

Grandmama I hated Lessons in Chemistry, but love anything by Vita Sackville West, I think she’s very underrated.

The Satsuma Complex by Bob Mortimer, just as zany and funny as you would expect.

Bournville by Jonathan Coe. Just finished, what a clever, enjoyable and moving novel. Covers a family's ups and downs from the 1940s to 2020 with the Cadbury factory in Bournville as a reference point. Really well written. Recommended!

The Wind Knows My Name by Isobel Allende. Wonderful depiction of the various characters. I've just got to where she is focussing on the Tangerine Twit's idea of separating immigrant children from their mothers. She's a massively talented writer, not onerous to read either.

Just enjoyed ‘Vianne’ by Joanne Harris, prequel to her ‘Chocolat’ which I may now re-read.

Before that I couldn’t put down ‘The Other Bennet Sister’ by Janice Hadlow - source of the recent tv series about Mary, the belittled middle sister in ‘Pride and Prejudice’.

I'm dipping in and out of some old Botany books on wild flowers .
I'm interested in herbalism .
