Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Yesterday I went for an early walk in the park, just me and quite a few dog walkers. It was pleasantly cool under the trees.
Then it was back to a second breakfast and out in the garden before the sun got round to it. I moved plants about and planted a new rhododendron. Then it was inside for the rest of the day.
It reached 25°C here by mid afternoon. I spent most of the time in my office with the blind down catching up on admin. Later, I got on with my latest book, a shortish but dense tome on Japanese history. Japan is on my travel short list.

Today, no exercising or gardening, I'm feeling the effects of yesterday so I will amble through bed changing and bathroom cleaning and do a bit more admin. Also, my smart TV is being annoying and interfering with my Freesat so there is that to sort out if possible, without picking the brains of the local TV guys.

Have an enjoyable day everyone if possible and special good wishes to Marydoll and Madeleine.

Good Morning all from a far too hot central south coast. I, like others on this thread do not enjoy this heat and am feeling very out of sorts!

Please could someone say where Marydoll's post is to be found - I have looked but can't find it and have concerns for her and Mr MD. It would be appreciated - thank you.

So sorry your wall was demolished Kitty - it must have been a huge shock for you both and I hope your insurers deal with the negotiations to repair it asap.

Love reading FGT's happy posts from Malaga - she is topping up her tan and replenishing her emotional batteries at the same time. Just the ticket.

Keep cool everyone in the hot zones! Hope all our strugglers are coping and finding some respite from worries and troubles.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Another hot day in prospect, so I shan’t be doing much today. Yesterday DD1 dropped the dog off to me at 8.45 on their way to a beach a bit further up the coast. They were there before 9.30 so parked easily. The tide was going out, so they didn’t swim. They collected the dog at about 3.00, having had enough sun by then.
DD2 FaceTimed in the evening from Türkiye, where it’s a bit cooler than here.

kitty an eventful day yesterday, is your front wall badly damaged? I hope you have a better day today and enjoy choir.

Arosa looks beautiful * brook *, I hope you enjoy your walk in the hills.

Thinking of those who are suffering for whatever reason and hoping that life improves for you soon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning. Another with a beautiful blue sky.
Today we are all off to Castle Howard .
Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.
The barbecue went well yesterday and we sat in the garden until quite late.
Meeting friends for coffee this morning.

Sorry to hear about your disturbed night kitty.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a hot and sunny W Kent. I am driving to see a friend this morning and then garden this afternoon. That is it apart from finding something to eat.
Thoughts with Marydoll
Best wishes for appointments R&L

Good Morning from a bright, sunny Durham. It’s only forecast 22 here today, while my SinL in Cheshire will have 30+ again. DD2 is currently on the ambilift, ready for her flight to Majorca. It’s been an early start for DGS2, but he’s very excited to be flying again.
It’s been a sticky night, with the window open the sparrow chicks in one of my nest boxes have been going berserk since dawn!
I’ve a dental appointment at 10.30 but that’s about it for the day, although at some point, I want to take advantage of Tesco’s wine offer.

Thinking of our missing posters.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from a still very warm North Leicestershire.

Yesterday was quite eventful. As well as our front garden wall being hit by a runaway truck, I woke about midnight with a nose bleed. I am slightly discombobulated this morning.

I will feel better as it is choir followed by our normal get-together for brewcupcake in a village coffee shop.

Have the very best day possible everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where a blistering hot day was followed by a hot, sticky, sleepless night. The forecast is for more of the same though I thought I saw a thunderstorm in one of the forecasts.

Yesterday I went out early to get some line for my strimmer, spent ages putting it on, checked that it worked and then couldn’t be bothered to use it, it was so hot. I sat under the garden umbrella in a state of torpor, where a large jug of iced tea was my best friend, and read a book. Lugging cans of water up the garden steps to water the plants late evening just about finished me off. I am going to have to bring the hose back into play if we don’t have rain.

I have an early chiropractic appointment this morning and then some admin. I hope to get the rest of the weeding done at some stage and still have a few plants to find permanent homes for.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Just found Marydoll’s post yesterday, I’m sorry to hear things aren’t going well. Sending you a big hug and love Marydoll xx

Bellasnana Tue 26-May-26 06:36:00

Good morning from Malta where it’s sunny and 32°C so a little cooler than parts of the UK!

Just woke up (after only two pit stops) and feel very sleepy still. I shall drink my tea whilst reading your posts.

Must say what lovely photos yesterday. I love to see them.

Glad Marydoll posted but wish things were easier for her and her DH. Sending my best wishes.💐

Wishing you all the best day possible.☀️

Good morning everyone from Switzerland, we’re in Arosa now which is beautiful. After breakfast we’re heading out walking for the day, nothing too strenuous but gentle hills. It’s a gorgeous sunny day already but much cooler that Basel, just right for us
That’s a lovely top Karma can’t believe it you made it so quickly
Sorry to hear Marydoll and her DH are both poorly, hope things improve soon
Hoping all your appointments go ok Roses and you get a date for your urgent appt soon ❤️
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

RosesandLilac Tue 26-May-26 06:29:34

Good morning, another beautiful day ahead (although it’s far too hot for me too)
I simply did very little yesterday, but today I have an optician appointment first thing and an appointment at the hospital this afternoon to have a lesion excised from my leg - DH will drop me off because parking is utterly atrocious at the hospital. It’ll be an uncomfortable journey in the heat but at least there’s air conditioning in the car.
Still waiting for ‘urgent ’ appointment with the gastroenterologist that was made by the oncologist a month ago….. I have a check thoracic CT scan next Monday.
I’m looking forward to much cooler weather by next week, this heat isn’t good for anyone or anything.
I’m lucky that I can keep the house relatively cool.
I admire all your sewing Karmalady, it’s many years since I made my own clothes.
There’s a very noisy pigeon cooing away outside my window and the sparrows are being their normal chattering selves.
Best wishes to everyone x

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Apparently it’s going to be another scorching day.

Our cleaner should be here today and I have a Waitrose shop to do. I need to see my friend over the road too.

I did some preparation for our forthcoming holiday yesterday. Booking an airport bus and cancelling the newspapers. We’ve already booked a taxi for Sunday morning.

It was good to hear from MaryD, yesterday, although sad that things aren’t going well.

Have a good day everyone.

Ashcombe Tue 26-May-26 06:21:28

Lovely top, karmalady!

Ashcombe Tue 26-May-26 06:20:21

Good morning from a very warm and still part of La Sarthe.

Yesterday the temperature reached the mid thirties so we are spending increasing amounts of the afternoon indoors. DH is trying to tame the garden but his attempts have been thwarted by a puncture in one of the lawn tractor’s tyres over the weekend.

I hope we shall hear better news from those with health issues, including Marydoll.

Good morning from very hot and dry s somerset

Another day for gliding around in a cool kaftan but first I will go and put my umbrella shade up, to keep my kitchen/dining cool. I don`t have to be anywhere nor dance to anyone's tune today so I can just float around, drinking water, reading my book and keeping cool, which is far more important than any exercise today

My sewing room was a refuge yesterday and I made that top in 2 sessions, finished by 2.30. It is very comfy to wear and is made from a remnant of Lady McElroy cotton poplin. I might well sew something else today, I have several items already cut-out and in boxes ready to go and I did enjoy the two 1 hour sessions yesterday

I think I might also continue gently going through my wardrobe, so far I have three summer toiles that I like very much, hanging in my sewing room, ready to repeat in much better fabric. Yesterday I wore Itch to Stitch Vikos dress, made in a cheap cotton fabric, it was so flattering and comfortable, I am going to make another. It is a toile, now hanging in my sewing room

All AC are in fine fettle, DS is back home in Aberdeen from a festival in Ayrshire , one DD completely recovered and happy after her 32 mile cross country group run and other DD successfully completed her triathlon yesterday, gaining two podium places from a field of 350 people

Nothing wrong with sloth-like behavior at my age, while the weather is so very hot, 33 degrees yesterday

NannyJan53 Tue 26-May-26 05:49:38

Good morning from a cooler Black Country (for now). Was up at 5 to sit in the garden where the coolness was such a relief.

Didn't really do much yesterday. My friend popped round for an hour for coffee and chat and to bring books for me to read. Finished one book and started another. Too hot to even cut the lawn!

MrJ went to the gym as there was air conditioning there.

BBQ last night, and sat out until 10pm.

Not much planned for today, see how things pan out.

Thinking of Marydoll and her DH

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning from Sheffield.
I had a full day of washing clothes yesterday ,at least that’s all out of the way . There’s just a pile of ironing to do. I can’t face that in this heat , it’ll wait.
We had a visit from our son and family yesterday morning which was very nice. I’m looking after the gorgeous Cockerpoo for a couple of days as they go away to visit theme parks this week ,then we had a visit from our daughter and family later on which was also very nice .
Back to work today but that’s okay, I like it .
Thinking of those who are particularly struggling at the moment Marydoll, Madeleine ,Roses
Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from S E Essex it’s already 17° and predicted to reach 31°

I have promised DD’s boys a day at one of our local beaches, now trying to decide which one will have less tourists…

Thinking of all our morning friends with troubles and illnesses (((hugs))) 🙋‍♀️

Grandmabatty Tue 26-May-26 05:21:14

It was good to hear from Marydoll yesterday. I really hope she and her dh can get some relief from their health worries

Grandmabatty Tue 26-May-26 05:18:57

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and cloudy. Definitely close your blinds Mick
Yesterday I did half an hour in the school library then headed home where I hung out a washing. I didnt do much else but read and rest. My feet were complaining yesterday about the heat.
Ive had a disturbed night but today is an early childcare day instead of yesterday. Dgs2 is doing a sponsored walk to the local park and I thought about joining them but I don't feel great so I probably wont. I have to be careful in extremes of temperature as my metabolism doesn't settle. Moan! Moan! I will collect the boys from school/nursery later and bring them to my house. Im planning on making milkshakes for them as a treat. Then itll be drawing , football and mud pies in the garden until I take them home again. Chicken salad for dinner. Have a good day all.

grandMattie Tue 26-May-26 05:18:24

Good morning from a clear Bristol where it is an unseasonal 19C. We’re promised 34C again. It’s too hot for me and I’ve become a troglodyte, sitting in the dark, curtains closed, sunny side windows closed…. I hate it.
For all that, I was very busy yesterday. I washed, dried and put away two loads of clothes (including two woolly jumpers!). I washed my floors. I decided I wanted to get more tomato plants to fill my pots, so I trotted off to the village garden shop. All that before 10am when my neighbour was ready to go to Tesco.
It felt like a pre Christmas shop, people were milling around, children were generally ok but a couple of adorable little scams were running around. I had a very full trolley because I hadn’t been able to get that much on foot recently. I did however get myself some peonies, which must be some of my favourite flowers.
The tea in the afternoon went ok - one lady who had never been round came, plus another 3. They must have enjoyed themselves as they stayed for nearly two hours, we did stay indoors as it was too hot to be outdoors.
We have horrible outdoor furniture, no shading trees and a useless umbrella, so my flat it was.
Today is empty. I’ll potter, sew, sit…
I hope you are enjoying the good weather🍦, and having a pleasant holiday week. 🐦‍🔥 Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩

Good Morning Everyone,
Its light, dry and a clear sky in for another hot day here in Brackley .
My plans I will get a earlier bus to shop and maybe say hello to those I know
I will watch cycling on TV as well and try to stay cool in my flat with maybe closing the blinds when I get the sun direct through my window .
Health OK despite heat.

Mick
