All of them are capable of " stringing a sentence " together despite only one of the degrees they hold being English.

I live in a seaside town with several lovely beaches. One beautiful bay is accessed only by a long residential road with large houses.
Residents of this road talk of cars parking across drives, litter tipped into their gardens, and some verbal abuse from the car drivers when they are asked to move.
Then there is the little matter of the impossibility of any rescue vehicles being able to access the beach...

I don’t understand why people have to litter the floor of public lavatories with paper? What are they doing? Isn’t one sheet enough?

The way public toilets are treated by some members of the public is quite disgusting. I'd hate to see their bathrooms.

I feel sorry for the workers who have to go in and sort the mess out.

When the kids were young we had a small holding on a village edge in Cheshire People would just walk down our track to “Look at the animals “. One Palm Sunday we returned home to find the Sunday school kids had come to see our donkey. If they had asked I would have been delighted to show the kids round. On one occasion I watched a group of mums and kids through their ice cream left overs over the fence. I approached them and asked them where they lived so I could bring my kids to look round their garden for a picnic. They shuffled off muttering I had a lovely walking stick left behind one no one came back to claim it

No one in that age group that I know talks like that, although I do sometimes hear people in shops and in the street talking like that, but not the majoirty by a long chalk.

Pity we can't do that to those who leave human excrement in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, even to the extent that it can cause pollution to streams as suggested by recent press reports on the West Highland Way, causing illness to humans and animals alike. Makes my blood boil.

I think it is worse because you don't seem to have any public education there about littering. It is a real problem in the UK, quite noticeable when visiting.We have a problem with graffiti here , same sort of issues and no state government backing to wipe it out. I visit other states which are graffiti free, so much better. When we go to Singapore we return to what we think is filth and squalor by contrast but when we go to the Uk we think we are not so bad after all! Lobby your Councils to be stricter with fining litterbugs.

Drive throughs and takeaway food places should be responsible for the litter they create. Their business model of selling food to be eaten somewhere else just pushes the costs of waste disposal onto the council tax payers. They should pay a tax on whatever they sell which goes to the council to pay for the cleaning up and bin provision and emptying.

Anyone who stops an emergency vehicle in this way should lose their licence and have their car crushed. Firm but fair.

This is very true Oreo, and also happens in cinemas and theatres where people cannot get through a couple of hours without munching on something and slurping drinks. Then when the film or performance is over the floor between the seats is covered with litter.

Unfortunately, nowadays , so many people can’t walk around without a drink in their hand, hence so many discarded cans, bottles and paper cups. I’m glad those just weren’t available in my youth - and we survived without them.

Eating on the hoof is endemic now, seems people can’t go five minutes without guzzling something or other.

This also happened at Wells Next the Sea when people parked in the spaces reserved for lifeboat volunteers and there was a rescue.

We live in the Peak District, we don’t go out over bank holidays or Sundays when it’s sunny….where do all these people come from? It has become far worse since COVID.

I saw online some irresponsible parking between Sandsend and Whitby, cars legally parked on one side of the road with parking pay machines.The other side of the road, a grass verge for people to WALK on and strictly NO parking, car after car after car had parked there, and every one of them had been ticketed. That will be a bank holiday some won't forget !

Good on the Farmers! I read that they had ignored no parking signs. This thing that most gets me fuming is parents who feel they are entitled to park on the zig zag lines outside schools to pick up or drop off children when the lines are there to protect children! I nearly got mowed down with my grandson by a car overtaking a car such as this!

I have lived in Westcliff-on-Sea for many years - it’s a very large area with bad (small) and good (large?)areas - it would appear that the commentator did not visit much of Westcliff and only saw a minor part of this lovely town as her comments are insulting, unnecessary and upsetting to the locals. I wonder where she lives…please think Gransnetters before you make this sort of sweeping comment. Thank you

Good for the farmer! Years ago I got sick of dog poo not being picked up outside my house by one specific dog owner. One day I happened to witness the person letting their dog do the dirty deed and walking off. I went after her and said she'd left something behind but she just blanked me. The red mist came down so I followed her at a distance to see where she lived and later I returned her dog's deposit to her doorstep.

The people who leave litter are totally beyond my comprehension. Why would you want to go to a place of beauty and then just ruin it, it certainly wouldn’t t be so appealing if everyone did it. I heard on the news this morning that Britain is the most littered country in Europe, just disgusting. Does no one have any civil pride or respect to the places they’re visiting? I wonder who these people are, I certainly don’t know anyone who wouldn’t pick up after themselves. I like the slogan DONT BE A TOSSER.

I think we should have really severe financial penalties for this reckless mindless behaviour.

The worse example was people parking on the life boat space.

Our friend was a fishmonger at Billingsgate. He left home at 3 in the morning. Once too often a neighbour parked across his drive. My friend had knocked on his many times.
Not this time, he took a baseball bat to the car.
Obviously he went to court and fined. But the neighbour never parked there again.
