Yesterday, I could get TV but minus the BBC channels, maybe due to thunderstorms it had effected the Beckley transmitter .
Today usual earlier bus trip into Bicester ,shop and maybe have a chat with those i know .

Good afternoon, Michael12 and all!

Grammaretto - beautiful photo!

Being a Friday, it's my usual day off work, so I'm sitting here at the Promenade, guzzling a bottle of 7 Up and scoffing a bag of KP Peanuts!

It's quite cool today, and also windy, so it's beautiful!

Tonight on YouTube I'll be drinking a bottle of Stella while watching ''Here's What ACTUALLY Happened To Robert Stack After Unsolved Mysteries''. He was always one of my favourites, and I loved U.M!

Tatty bye!

We never reached ours, DH died just before our 45th. 😢

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 29-May-26 13:36:00

Oh LLFL many congratulations - a very happy Golden Wedding anniversary to you both!
We got to celebrate ours 18 months ago.
Himself actually organised a party, start to finish, a golden memory for me now.

Happy Golden Wedding anniversary, Ladyleftfieldlover! 🥂

Sending you an unmumsnetty hug, Marydoll. Hope your family start to devise a way to help you more. What would they do if you became too ill to care for their Dad? You can't pour from an empty jug! Treat yourself to something frivolous in M and S. 💐

Good morning from a cooler Co Armagh,, it’s quite dull too

I have tv problems today , I can only se channels via my sky box , but the picture is not good , too dark and I can’t brighten it , probably my growing cataract doesn’t help
I hope MDs health , and that of her Husband is helped , could it help if a son took him out for a while ?
💐💐💐

I wish Mr J’s DD a very speedy recovery NannyJan. What a shock for her.

GrandmaC47 Fri 29-May-26 10:16:07

Georgesgran it certainly is.

Good morning from currently overcast Wiltshire. Very hot again yesterday even after the previous nights storms but last night was a shade cooler.

We went to Whitehalls garden centre to get summer bedding but the best stuff had already been sold. I really wanted some midnight blue salvias as we got some last year and they were magnificent at the front of the large bed in the garden, but alas I didn’t find any.

Wishing you and your DH a very happy Golden Wedding anniversary LLFL. I hope you have a lovely meal out. 🍾🧡

Have a Good Friday everyone.

Georgesgran Fri 29-May-26 09:52:35

Thanks GrandmaC47 I know you’re down that way. It’s a lovely village, isn’t it? X

Grannyme6 Fri 29-May-26 09:52:16

Congratulations on your Golden Wedding anniversary Ladyleftfieldlover today, enjoy your day and your holidays to come.
DH and I will be celebrating our Golden Wedding in early July - the date was reportedly the hottest day of that hot hot summer in 1976.
I’m having a few days on the south coast at our little place, helping out with half term activities of some of the DGC. It’s been a good week.
Wishing all a gentle day.

Ziplok Fri 29-May-26 09:45:23

Good morning all,
I will come back and read the posts later as I have to be elsewhere soon.
Sending kind thoughts to all who are struggling today.

Marydoll I’m so sorry you are going through such a difficult time with your DH and feeling so ill yourself while trying to care for him. 💐

llfl Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary 🥂🥂

GrannySomerset Fri 29-May-26 09:08:28

A bit cooler so a better night and I feel much readier to tackle the day. Yesterday was busy but satisfactory and today will be sociable so all is well. Have ordered a replacement fridge for the dying one in the utility room and a replacement small TV for the kitchen as the one now in use is nearly twenty years old and getting more and more reluctant to change channels. These will be delivered on Sunday, so will be poorer but marginally more up to date.

Thinking sympathetically of all those having a trying time, especially MD, and wishing LLFL a very happy day.

GrandmaC47 Fri 29-May-26 09:05:06

Marydoll 💐.
Llfl congratulations. It was our 55th yesterday.
Georgesgran I’ll wave as you head to Sedgefield 👋
Some lovely photos today.
Hope you all have a good day.
Off to put some washing, boring but necessary.

dragonfly.yes a very dear friend I will go and knock. She has been away but would usually reply even if just a couple of words or thumbs up.

Grammaretto Fri 29-May-26 08:46:36

Good Morning from a still, grey Durham.
A busy day, as I’m off to the rental to read the meters. We are completing the sale today, but it’s taken 16 weeks from the offer being made, despite it being an easy sale for both parties - vacant and no chain. I’ve only got my deposit back, but of course I’ve had income from it for years. I’m pleased to get rid of the responsibility now.
I’ve a key to drop off with the EA in Sedgefield, then a hair appointment early afternoon back in Durham. There’s a pile of ironing at home and Little Dog to take out later.
I remember trying not to disturb my DH, so I didn’t put the light on Melanie, missed the step and fell downstairs, breaking my arm! DH, of course, slept through it, until at 5am when I had to wake him to take me to A&E.
Enjoy the shops MD and treat yourself to something very expensive and extremely frivolous - you know you’re worth it.

Best wishes to all, x
