Good morning evetyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny but with some high cloud, a cooler day is forecast, yesterday was another hot day.
DD1 and her DH called in yesterday morning for an hour, then went home to clean and tidy their house after a half term week at home.
I vacuumed downstairs but decided to leave doing upstairs until today when it will be cooler.
Apart from that I have nothing planned for the day, but washing will be done and dried outside.

fgt your day sounds delightful, whichever option you choose!

llfl have a lovely holiday.

cornergran your day by the sea yesterday sounds very restful. I hope that the rat issue is resolved soon, it’s horrible not being able to relax and enjoy your own garden.

Hoping that those who are struggling today find some relief.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all and hopefully a cooler day ahead 🙏. Yesterday was very warm again and I struggled to do anything after cleaning the conservatory of dead flies and bees. The ceiling blinds need taking down but I’ll have to get someone in to do that. It’s like a fly cemetery up there.

Today we’ll go for coffee and DS1’s and sit in their lovely garden. He said the other day ‘I understand why dad used to despair of our large garden , when we were playing football, riding bikes and having water slides and pools with friends coming over. It must have driven him mad’. 😂.

Happy holidays to all and enjoy a gentle day. 🌺

Good morning, it’s high cloud here in south Glos, cool and comfortable.
I don’t have anything much to do today though I might make some flapjacks I think.
I expect that tiddler and I will be in my Shed later, it’s such a peaceful place to watch the birds and do my embroidery.
I have a check CT scan tomorrow afternoon, still no sign of the ‘urgent’ gastroenterology appointment, it’s coming up to 5 weeks since it was made.
Little point in trying to chase it up, my gp surgery is useless now it’s cut its opening hours by 40%.
Never mind, what will be, will be 🙏
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from dry warm s somerset

I am back in the house now, I needed to change batteries on my cateye strada, a computer for my pedelec e bike, she is at the grand old age of 18 and is still perfect. I am planning a longer ride and will detour to my allotment before I return home. No idea what to wear except I like covered arms to protect from UV rays

Bottle of water is packed and also a showerproof jacket. A typical sunday for me, with an afternoon of RnR

Good morning from Shropshire. The forecast is for cooler weather today but is quite warm at the moment.

Today is DH’s birthday so both daughters and families are coming over to celebrate with us.We will have lunch out then back here for cake.I hope the weather is nice as DH has spent the week in the garden and it looks so lovely. We always go a bit over the top for grandpa’s birthday as it’s the only summer birthday so we have garden games and a theme!

Little dog will go home later. She is no trouble but she hasn’t been happy with the extreme heat this week but then neither have I 😂

Wishing a good day ahead for everybody and a better day for all struggling.Thinking of our absent friends💐

Good morning from an overcast W Kent, slight breeze and quite cool.
Another very quiet day here, phone call to DB and cooked lunch.
DGS5 kindly took loads of books off shelves for me so I suppose I could start going through them.
Best wishes

Good morning everybody from Málaga I have another day of gorgeously sunny weather again. I’ve been using up all the suncreams (various) that the family bought last summer and left behind but yesterday when I walked up to the Carrefour I bought some more - a good make - and was delighted to find they were 3 for 2! Don’t you just love it when that happens with something you were buying anyway!

I’m dithering over what to do with myself today. A walk along La Carihuela with the local Spanish who dress up and promenade along the paseo - no vest tee shirts and flip flops for them, whole families look very smartly dressed. Or hit the beach for the afternoon then get a cocktail at Kaleido (my favourite bar on the marina) at sundown and a taxi back up for €5 (so cheap here the council run taxis). Or just the gardens until 6pm then shower and stroll down to the Chinese restaurant? Decisions, decisions.

I think I’ll start with the mundane, put the washing machine on and mop the tiles then WApp my (dancing) friend to see if she’d like to join me for coffee at 11am. I might have made a decision by then!

I see in the local newspaper (Sur in English) that Cirque du Soleil is being set up in Malaga this week and will run from 4th June to 5th July … 😁

Morning Mick, morning All. A cloudy day forecast for our corner of Somerset.

An early (for us) morning trip to the sea front yesterday was well worth it. A table by the sea wall in warm rather than hot sunshine, no sense of rush, gentle waves, soothing sounds. Two coffees and an hour and a half later we were ready to face the rest of the day. I was reminded of what we sought when we moved here, not a bad thing as the pest controller has so far failed to banish the rats and I’m nervous out in the garden.

There are indoor jobs waiting for me today, it will be good to clear the list. A roast meal later, Mr C made me laugh asking for ‘proper food’ after a week of oven avoidance. A traditional soul.

My thoughts are with all facing challenges. Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a cool, breezy, overcast Cornwall where I can finally breathe easily and in the coming rainy week hopefully start to travel around a bit more. Today it's church this morning then a bus to a nearby town where I'm staying in a pub before catching a train tomorrow to not sure where yet, lungs permitting. Grammaretto I stopped painting seven years ago and don't have any images of my paintings but one of my sons has two originals so I'll see if I can remember to take a photo of one when I'm there.

An online auction today will see whether I have bid enough for one of my dad's very first rooftop paintings.

Good Morning all from a much fresher central south coast. I think the heat wave has passed over and the weather forecast is back to more comfortable levels.

I plan to give myself a pedicure (aka as cutting my toenails) this morning. It is an effort with my stiff joints but if I soak my feet in a bowl of warm water first, I can usually manage.
We are also doing laundry. Nothing else on the to do list so far.

Just read about the plague of mice in western Australia and it is truly horrifying. They need a Pied Piper urgently. We have family in Adelaide and north of Brisbane but both are a long way away from the plague thank goodness.

Hope you have a good flight and a lovely holiday in Malta, LLF. It will be back to the heat for sure!

Thoughts as always with all our strugglers and hoping for an easier day for them and for us all.

Ashcombe Sun 31-May-26 06:16:37

Good morning from a warm but fresher corner of La Sarthe. Yesterday evening, as we dined outside, we had a thunderstorm that rumbled away in the distance for about an hour before coming closer bringing lightning and rain.

Thank you for the kind comments about my DS’s house. Both his sisters are in settled relationships but he struggles to find the right partner and I despair of him ever being settled. His DS, aged 10, is the one constant in his life.

Safe travels and happy landings to Ladyleftfieldlover and her DH, I visited Malta back in the 90’s and particularly liked Valletta and Mdina, My DSIL1’s family is from Malta although he grew up in London and now lives in Australia with my DD1 and DGS1.

I hope today is the start of a good week with better health for the poorly ones and happy times for the holidaymakers.

Good morning from Sheffield
It’s a beautiful morning here.
The garden looks better now all the pots etc are back in place. I’m pleased how it looks this year, it’s taken me 43 years to get it to how I want it. When I think back to how it was when the children were small. It had little grass because of swings , football etc and I didn’t have time to tend to borders. Now I have banned balls and the borders are looking good.
We are going out on our bikes early this morning before it gets too hot. They are all ready to go. Just need some breakfast to fuel us and then we are off.
We are going to friends this afternoon for a meal and a game of Rummicub . They are very good company so looking forward to that.
Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from Malta where the forecast is for a sunny day with a high of 32°C.

I duly hoofed to the polling station yesterday morning to do my civic duty (not that it will make a scrap of difference) after which I was hot so treated myself to a rather delicious strawberry milkshake before walking home via the pharmacy and ATM.

I walked back up to the village in the afternoon to meet my pal and we had a good chat and a laugh while enjoying an iced coffee.

Watched tennis most of the afternoon and evening, but had a long chat with my brother in law in Edinburgh. I will be going to visit either in July or September so am excited about that.

Today Mass this morning after which I shall potter and enjoy the peace and quiet until the election results are out and people start carcading and blasting their horns.

Hope you have a good flight, Llfl and an enjoyable holiday. It’s getting hotter as the week progresses.

Wishing a good day to you all. ☀️

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 31-May-26 05:33:44

A quick morning all from West Oxfordshire. Taxi is coming at 7 am to take us to the airport where we will leave for Malta!

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Bristol. The pavements are damp and the air is fresh, so there must have been rain overnight.
I had a busy morning in church. Cleaning and serving coffee. The afternoon was quiet, with only some marmalading, and dinner made.
Today, church. Then I absolutely must do my Spanish homework as I have a busy week ahead.
I hope everyone has a quiet, peaceful and blessed Sunday.
