Good morning everyone from Tirano in Italy where it’s warm but raining. It’s a lovely small town but we won’t be doing much more exploring in the rain! ☔️
We had such a lovely journey down from Switzerland yesterday, the scenery was amazing. We stopped off at Alp Grum which is a mountain railway station on the Bernina rail line and had a coffee on the terrace enjoying the views. We arrived in a sunny Tirano mid afternoon, got ice cream and then checked into our apartment for the night. Later today we’re off to Milan for an overnight stop before flying home tomorrow.

Have a lovely meet up today gMattie and granniemay
That often happens to me when gardening greyduster, with the washing too!
Bellas what a shame about the animals but thankfully no people harmed
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from overcast South Lanarkshire. Yesterday was showery but very warm.

All the best for your CT scan Mick, hope you’re taken quickly.

Enjoy your meet-up gM. I remember being very nervous the first time I met some of the grans in Glasgow all those years ago.

Roses, I’m shocked by how you are being treated, I do hope you get results soon.

Oh gbatty, what a boy!

I spent a very unsatisfactory couple of hours trying and failing to book airport lounge tickets for our wait between flights in Zurich. A long wait in the help chat queue resulted in the agent being unable to help, she gave me a phone number for Technical Support. I may ring them this morning if I can summon the energy.

Charity shop this afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire.Sunny at the moment but rain and storms forecast for later.

Yesterday as I walked to get DGS1 from school the heavens opened, the rain was torrential.I phoned DH to come and meet us.When DGS came out of school he said he wanted to walk as he had a new waterproof lunch box and wanted to check it was waterproof 🤦🏼‍♀️we were absolutely drenched but you will all be glad to know that the lunch box is indeed waterproof 🤷‍♀️

A disturbed night as my blood sugars were low and it took two hours to stabilise them.

Today DH has his class and then coffee with friends.I have my friend coming round for coffee minus the exercise.

Grandmabatty 🤦🏼‍♀️your poor daughter.Like you I wouldn’t think to check the main bedroom.

Roses I can’t believe how long you are having to wait for these results. The system is well and truly broken.💐

Enjoy your meet up grandMattie and safe onward travels to Ash.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌷🦩

Good morning from a wet W Kent. Off to art group this morning we are supposed to be painting something to do with weddings, I haven’t a clue yet. Later a friend is coming by for tea and biscuits.
Good luck for the scan Mick
Enjoy your meet up gM
R&L sorry you have more waiting
Best wishes all round

Have a good day.

RosesandLilac - I’m thinking of you. 💐

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is shining. I hope your scan goes ok today Mick.

A clean bill of health from the dentist yesterday. I told him about falling heavily on one side of my face but he said there was no damage to my teeth. Because all the forecasts were for a day of continuous rain, I had nothing planned outside, so made a large batch of shepherds pie base for the freezer. The rain did not materialise so I went out into the garden to do a few jobs - and it rained. Put everything back in the shed - and it stopped. This happened twice. At this point I had developed a persecution complex so I gave up and spent the rest of the afternoon reading. It never rained after that!

Going to the gym this morning and this afternoon I am back volunteering at school.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Ddil was taking dgs1 to football training, so only had time to report the news to dd. Hes a good guy and does his share of cleaning up. Dgs2 is hard work at times! I will see how things are this morning 😂

Aww, Grandmabatty, these things happen, especially when small children are in the mix. Try not to fret.

I hope your son in law had made a start and helped with the clean up operation, not just reported it to your daughter, otherwise her 'coolness' needs a redirection.

Good morning everyone from a chilly Lancashire. It's been chilly enough for the heating to kick in overnight. Not like last week!

Glad your scan went ok, RosesandLilac. Your stoicism in the face of all the delays is remarkable.

Poor Ricky the parrot, Bellasnana. ☹ And the other creatures too. It's good there were no human casualties though.

A trip to the garden centre to get geraniums to pot up for by the front door is on the agenda today.

Enjoy your meetup, GrandMattie and welcome to GrannieMay.

Hope all goes to plan with your scan, Mick.

Take care everyone. 🌻

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and wet again. It rained most of yesterday, off and on. Bellasnana I saw a video of the explosions and they were so violent. Im glad no humans were killed. GrandMattie enjoy your meet up today. The Glasgow grannies had great meetings. Rosesandlilacs I'm glad it went well but I'm horrified at how long you have to wait.
Yesterday was interesting. I was up at dds for half six and the boys woke at half seven. They had breakfast then went upstairs to play- in their rooms, I thought. That was my big mistake. Dgs2 came down with his hair plastered in gel. I had to rinse it repeatedly to get it off. Then off we trotted to school/nursery. I had a quiet day and pottered about at home. Dgs1 was at a friend's house after school so it was just dgs2 who painted and drew. Then we did a science experiment with paint water and kitchen roll. Dd came to pick him up and that was when the extent of the morning gel incident came out. Dsil was home first and saw what dgs2 had done. He had gone into mummy and daddy's room and had taken body gel from their en suite. There was body gel on the walls , the floor, their bed and their clothes. I rarely go upstairs in their house and never into the main bedroom, so I was unaware of this. Dd was not happy and seemed cool with me. In retrospect, she was raging with dgs2 as she had to go home to clean after a long day at work. Dgs2 did say sorry, after some prompting. Oh dear.
Today I will pick up the boys and bring them to my house for breakfast then take them to school. The rest of the day will be quiet until pick up time. I think I will make chicken curry for dinner. Enjoy your day all.

Good morning from a wet hillside in south Glos, very welcome after the heatwave. Plenty more forecast this week.
My CT appointment went smoothly, now a 6-8 week wait for results (‘We’re running behind with reporting’ apparently)
The support I have from you wonderful people on here is keeping me going, you truly are amazing! So, no likelihood of a plan for weeks yet 🤷🏼‍♀️ I have to admit I’m pretty resigned now, it just seems completely pointless trying to chase anything up if it takes so long to get results. I tried chasing up the gastroenterology appointment yesterday….‘You’re in the system’ was the response!
DH dropped me off, the rain started as we drove home but we could see it coming up from the SW as we drove to the hospital. There are spectacular views from the top of the ridge.
Today there’s an early Ocado delivery, then it’s the usual chores.
I need to pay a cheque for my previous car road tax refund into Nationwide Bank, I might go into town tomorrow after my hair appointment. I can leave the car and get the bus from the city outskirts.
Hugs to anyone who could do with one!
🌹

grandMattie Tue 02-Jun-26 05:25:29

bellas, despite the dreadful damage to property and pollution, it was such a blessing that no one was injured or worse!
Hope you find your cushion!

Bellasnana Tue 02-Jun-26 05:21:43

Good morning from Malta where the high is going to be 33°C.

Yesterday’s catastrophe, fortunately, had no human casualties but several animals perished including cows at a nearby farm and several birds at the Bird Park amongst whom were an owl, a flamingo and Ricky the 57 year old parrot.😞

There was also considerable damage done to properties with windows blown out etc, not to mention the toxic mixture now polluting the surrounding fields and properties.

I did some cleaning and ironing and watched a bit of tennis before the boys came. They both stripped naked and were straight into the paddling pool, where much fun was had!

I’m thinking I might go out today to see if I can find a seat cushion for one of my outside benches. Also need a couple of things from Lidl.

Hope all goes well for your CTscan Mick🤞

Hope you enjoy your meet up grandMattie. Don’t be nervous, you’ll be fine especially having Granniemay to give you moral support.🤗

Wishing nothing but good thngs for you all.☀️

grandMattie Tue 02-Jun-26 05:11:28

Good morning from a grey Bristol. Although it has rained from late afternoon, the amount of rain is far less than predicted.
All the best with your CT scan, Mick.
The gardening meeting with residents was interesting. As usual, Teflon obfuscated his answers, passed the buck and generally did his Teflon thing. One thing that has occurred is that the appalling “hedge” outside my flat is to be taken out. He asked what would replace it. I replied that justgrass would be good - relief on his face!
Today, I’ve got my first meet-up. granniemay will come with me for support, bless her, and also as she is the bus route queen, show me where the stops are! I’m feeling surprisingly nervous, not being the world’s most confident person.
I hope Ash is now safely home after a good journey, that MD finds a modicum of comfort and everyone with problems or sorrow finds peace. Those with happiness - enjoy every minute!
