Good morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.
Busy day in prospect here. We are up early as DH has to ring the gp. I have to go to the egg farm, the pet shop and Waitrose. The gardener is coming this afternoon - that won't be enough time so I think she will need to come back. And, I have a sports massage booked.
Take away burger tonight though.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good Morning Friday 5th June 2026
(44 Posts)Good morning everyone from mid Essex, we have blue sky at the moment, but I don’t know how long it will last. There’s a cool breeze again, which is a nuisance as I need to spray some weed killer on the driveway and can’t do it if it’s windy! The boiler was serviced yesterday morning, then I took some bags to the local charity shop. I continued sorting out old paperwork and am pleased that the files are tidier.
fgt I hope you enjoy your last day in Malaga, you’ve done so well and hopefully future visits will be easier for you.
bellasnana, I hope your driving licence arrives soon. Your garage sounds quite a challenge, well done for putting your car away!
llfl enjoy your day sightseeing, I hope it isn’t too hot.
marzipan that’s a good photo! I have Erigeron growing all over my driveway and it’s busy spreading to neighbouring gardens now. I’ll be careful not to spray it with weed killer!
Thinking of all those in the sick bay and those who are struggling with life’s challenges at the moment.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is going to be a dry, cool, grey day. Yesterday we had showers on and off all day again.
I took GS home and DD made me a light lunch. We were discussing the blight of box moth that was ravaging our estate where hardly a single bush or ornamental hedge (including mine) has not been affected. It seems to have happened very quickly. When I got home I was chatting to my neighbour about it and she said the local garden centre had been inundated with requests for treatment. I have ordered some online and it should come today. I hope it works. I got my haircut in the afternoon and now feel a little tidier.
Today I’m going to a beginners t’ai chi class in the next village. We’ll see how I get on! If it’s something I feel that I can carry on with, I hope it will I prove my balance, which is shocking.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Mick ~ it’s National Fish and Chip Day in the UK!
Celebrated annually on the first Friday in June, it’s a nationwide tribute to the classic British comfort food. Chippies (local fish and chip shops) up and down the country are marking the occasion with special deals and discounts 😁
Good morning, bright sunshine and clear sky here at the moment in south Glos, more rain later.
I had a good cleaning and tidying session yesterday morning, I actually managed to get the washing dried on the line in the afternoon too!
We went to watch DGS1 at the cycling track race yesterday evening, it stayed dry but a very brisk, chilly wind and heavy clouds made it hard on the cyclists.
I was very tired by the time we got back but I slept well.
I don’t have anything planned for today, so it’s doing whatever I like!
Best wishes to everyone x
🌹
Good morning everybody from Málaga. I had the best sleep last night bc I got the ceiling fan working yesterday- it was only needing new batteries in the remote but I was delighted to have worked it out all by my own big self. My skillset is very poor compared to yours karma!
I’m off to the beach again today this last day of my holiday and will treat myself to lunch again at the Metro Bar on the marina with a glass of wine and a coffee.
I took this pic from my lounger when I went on Wednesday. My favourite part of the beach.
It’s early days yet but my sister is coping well with her husband. A nurse comes every day to dress his wound from the above knee amputation.
My girls are missing me and I them. They ring or FT me every day and that’s often when we share our feelings about our loss. We can’t believe it’s not even 4 months yet and the relief we felt has given over to the realisation now that we will never see him again which has us all tearful. But as my Yorkshire Lass said last night “this holiday has done you good mum after all those months of relentless anxiety, living on your nerves with apprehension.” In one, dear girl, in one.
Good morning from a sunny Torbay.
In haste as have an early dental check up.
Great photo, Marzipan!
A good day to all

Morning all from what promises to be another scorchio day in Malta!
We are off to the Blue Grotto and a few other attractions today.
FGT2S - I hope your journey home goes well - our tour guide is from Manchester and she still has the accent after living in Malta for 30 years.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from S E Essex, there are a lot of clouds here in S E Essex.
Back home after an enjoyable time in York, very impressed with the train journey, exactly 3 1/2 hours after the train departed York I was putting my key in our front door. Much easier and quicker than driving.
Good morning from a chilly Wiltshire. We travelled down yesterday through torrential rain at times and on overtaking a lorry on the motorway a stone hit the car windscreen and fairly soon after we noticed a long crack across the front windscreen. Something else to sort out!!
Today we are celebrating our friends golden wedding anniversary they are hosting a lunch in a hotel for around 50 people. I woke at 4 am this morning and further sleep has eluded me.
Hoping everyone has a good day 🌷
Good morning from Cornwall where it's drizzly with a max of 14° today, lovely.
Yesterday I got halfway on my journey to collect my dad's painting when I realised that the auction house had moved out of town so I had no chance of getting to it from the railway station. My son will drive to collect the painting at some point.
Stopped at a town midway en route and bought some lovely succulents and erigeron - the daisies that grow out of cracks everywhere here. Usually I pluck a fragment from a wall or kerbside and and they thrive so I'll be interested to see how a cultivated one gets on. Had tea and cake in a local café, then turned back and retraced my journey home where I spent time on my patio pottering in the light, balmy rain.
Today I'm meeting a friend for coffee at a riverside café. Later I'll make some pear and ginger cake which I'll slice and freeze for breakfast.
My son took this photo at a supermarket yesterday.
Good morning from sunny Malta where the high is to be 33°C.
Mission accomplished yesterday, back to Transport Malta with my documents, a much shorter wait and my new licence will be sent by post.
I then went to Eurospin hoping for plants but they only had a few which looked too high maintenance for me, so I just bought milk, bread and a few other bits.
I’ve been putting my car in the garage (it has only taken me 10 years to get around to using it) and I find it an ordeal every time.
The garages are underneath the building with a steep slope and then the manoeuvring of the car into the narrowest of spaces. I’m getting better at it but it’s still nerve wracking. I curse whoever designed such ridiculously small garages.
It is nice to have it off the street though, and to get into a cool car in this heat.
I have my usual hair appointment today, all being well as my hairdresser’s young daughter had surgery yesterday and has to have another op in the coming days.
Tennis semifinals to watch later. Can’t believe it’s Friday again! Where does the time go?
Wishing you all a good day.🤗
Good morning from cool, showery s somerset
The house has cooled, it took a week but I would be able to wear a sweatshirt today without feeling too warm. The plants are loving this temperature and the rain, it is very lush out there.
It was a busy day yesterday, at it like hammer and tongs, same as HelterSkelter, I keep unearthing things that can go. Yesterday it was a big old, heavy Samsung laptop. Undoing the tiny screws took a long time but I eventually dissembled all of it, removed the hard drive and memory cards and thoroughly destroyed them
Next was the electronic cables box, thankfully I had labelled a few and have re-discovered my Sennheiser earphones, very comfy to wear. I don`t need to keep quiet for anyone but the immersive sound is very nice. I am keeping them out to enjoy
Today I will continue on my tidying mission and I want to finally ply my last skein, from this present batch of squishy fluff and then put my spinning items upstairs
Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country.
A lovely 3 hours with Aunt, Cousin and Mum yesterday for lunch. Pubs coffee machine wasn't working so went on to Charity shop Cafe for coffee, then a mooch around the shop. A few bargains were had by Aunt and Cousin.
Today we are off to visit MrJ's DD in Hospital again. Think she is fed up now, and hopefully be home by the weekend. She has been in there since Tuesday last week, won't be able to put any weight on it for another 8 weeks.
Enjoy your last day in Malaga FGT you have done so well.
Wishing you all the best day possible
Good morning from Sheffield
Just about to get up for the Friday big clean
A friend has told me about the exhibition of the Queens dresses in London. It sounds wonderful so I have just booked two tickets. The first available was 8 November!
We can do it in a day , the train takes about 90 minutes but
I am now thinking of making it into a weekend and visiting a museum too.
Take care everyone
Good morning from Glasgow where there are little patches of blue in the mostly cloudy sky.
I’m waking up in DD’s house after a busy (for DH) evening. He had several drop offs and pick ups to do so spent a good chunk of the evening driving.
This morning he will do the school run while I wait in for a delivery and a painter. This evening I’m taking the two netball playing DGDs to their club awards evening. DD will be home very late then we will get off home too.
Wishing everyone a good day.
Good morning everyone.
So pleased your eye operation went well, Blue Saphire. Reading your description reminded me of when my lovely MiL had hers done and how the world opened up to her again.
We are pretty much packed up and ready to head off to Anglesey later.
We have to take the little chap to Family Contact in Cheshire and then we'll drive on from there. Fingers crossed for a good run.
Our daughter is joining us from Birmingham this evening. We've never used the sofa bed in this caravan but hopefully she'll be comfortable.
Enjoy your last day in Malaga, FriedGreenTomatoes. You've done brilliantly.
Wishing everyone the best day possible. 🌻
Good morning from a grey Bristol. Yesterday had sunshine and showers and a vicious wind that could easily have graced February! And, it’s only going to be a maximum of 15C today. When you think that it was 30C-ish this time last week…
Yesterday was quiet, but I was busy with the usual house stuff. I made some more marmalade as most of my stock was sold on Wednesday.
I thought I had found a good new bus route to DD’s, then completely messed it up, so kept to the old one. DD seemed in good form as was the rest of the family; no shouting, no squabbles. FiL came for night as he often does riding his motorcycle. He’s a lovely man.
When I got home, I found out that there had been a power cut but it had affected the estate very erratically. These make my sockets fuse, so for about an hour I was up and down like a yo-yo, resetting everything. It was sorted by the time I went to bed.
Today, I have my Spanish class then I’ll start assembling my patches.
Stay safe and enjoy the forthcoming weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
