Good morning from Lancashire.
I haven’t had my nose through the curtains but it does feel cold this morning.
In the bath, ready to rinse my hair but the boiler has decided to conk out for the second time this week.
So just stewing until hubby gets it going again 🙄
Taking my friend out for lunch, (she has Alzheimer’s) so
It’s good to know FGT ‘it’s ’national fish & chip day’ that’s what she has anytime we go out 😊
Have good last day FGT. Hope the airport isn’t too crazy tomorrow for your trip back to Blighty 🙏

Good morning from a brightening northwest coast.
I took myself off for a drive into the country yesterday, notwithstanding the uninspiring weather and really enjoyed it, tootling along listening to classic fm and looking at the glories of nature, even though the surrounding countryside here is not the loveliest in the land.

I had lunch in an old courtyard cafe, served indifferently even though there were only two people in the whole place.
This morning to art and I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your art group member luluaugust.

It’s my sister in London’d birthday today, so I will phone her later.
Thoughts to all 🌺

Good morning from a sunny but very windy NE.
Heating was on again this morning.
Nothing planned for today so will do some housework and file paperwork as my desk is getting cluttered.
DS will visit tomorrow but GD is still busy with GCSEs and is revising at home. I have been promised she will visit next weekend, I do miss her piano playing.
Have a good day.

Good morning from a brightish Essex.
We had torrential rain yesterday that seemed to go on for ages. Fortunately we were already at DD’s and not on the motorway.

Today we are heading into Kent and hoping for dryer weather.
Our DS and GC will meet us there.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Glammagran I'm off to hide the scissors!

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 11°C

I have had very little sleep, I am in a lot of pain. Maximum pain relief, is not even touching the pain. Any increase in dosage would make me unable to function.

I managed to get four another four bags to the charity shop yesterday, with the help of DH. I drove, but I needed him to lift them. He spent the whole time, telling me how to drive and park. Grrrr!

The lights under the railway were out of sync, I had to go through the red light, 😱because they were stuck at red on my side.😭
Reporting the fault will a my priority this morning. The Roads Engineer and I have become good friends. 😉

Yesterday, I discovered a bag of clothes for Babydoll, which must have been meant for her birthday in April. DIL will be delighted.
My plan is to take DH to see her on Sunday. I got her a carved wooden, sign made for her new tree house, which says; Babydoll's House.

The P.P was only a few hours into his journey to Rome, when I was faced with problems.
The supply priest didn't turn up for Mass, the P. P had given me a list of things, he wanted done, but the curate had asked the Deacon and Sacristan to do the exact opposite. Cue a number of phone calls to resolve it. The usually vocal young curate was rather subdued.
Today, we have an elderly, retired priest and the children from both schools are coming. The P.P has asked me to be there, the visiting priest isn't good at engaging with children, his own words, not ours!

I wish you all a pleasant day and take care, all who are travelling,
Takeaway tonight, At lunchtime yesterday, I realised it was the 50 year anniversary of our engagement in the grounds of Glasgow University after my last exam,
DH hadn't remembered all!!!.🤣

Gelisajams Fri 05-Jun-26 08:12:07

Good morning all my post and pics from yesterday seems to have disappeared into cyberspace instead of posting grrrrr

Morning from a bright, cooler S Hants after wet Thursday.
Enjoy your last day FGT aurevoir not goodbye, it’s been restorative for you.
Safe journey to the travellers today.
I keep being bitten overnight, MrJ is fine, so I’ve ordered a plug in mozzie killer, memories of hot holidays!
Tesco will deliver today and some light domestic duties need to be done. Pub tonight for a catch up, I’ve new trainers to break in.
Have a good day all,

Good morning to everyone from Wiltshire. It’s actually sunny this morning for the first time since last Sunday.

Yesterday we went to the large Waitrose on the outskirts of Swindon which we shop in every few weeks. DH managed to drop a jar of sun dried tomatoes on the floor at the checkout which made a huge mess with all that olive oil! The staff were very good about it.

Reading of the escapades of your DGS2 GB re: the body gel, reminded me of what happened before we went on holiday last month. We had our two youngest for a sleepover while their parents were at a wedding. The next morning they were “playing” upstairs and unbeknown to us, DGS2 found my haircutting scissors in a drawer and decided to give himself a diy haircut. It wasn’t very obvious at first as he has very thick wavy hair. Now it has had to be cut short round the back. He looks completely different and much older. I think we all miss his lovely light copper curls although it’s been retained on top. I found a lot of hair under my dressing table after they went home. Photo only shows some of it.

I’m so pleased your cataract op went well BlueSapphire. I hope it makes a big difference for you.

Have a Good Friday everyone. Safe journey home FGTs. Thanks for your photos.

Good morning, everyone. This is Oscar my resident fox. He spends most mornings treating the garden as though he owns it then saunters off when I begin my usual outdoor routine. I never feed him as that would be a huge mistake. My garden is part of his territory as most of the others around here are paving and astroturf, whereas mine is wildlife friendly. The only damage he has done is chewing the plastic top off my water feature where he drinks so he could get more of a flow. I was hanging the washing out at the time. What a clever fox!
I hope to spend today gardening if the forecast is correct and there is some respite from the wind and rain.
I hope you all have the bet possible day.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 05-Jun-26 07:50:44

Enjoy the beach FGT2

You have done remarkably well these last weeks 😘

EkwaNimitee Fri 05-Jun-26 07:48:15

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle. Will it last until I can get out into the garden?
Yesterday I pottered through various chores, I was tired, tired, tired after a poor night's sleep. After lunch, I could have managed a little gardening but when I popped out briefly to test the air, I found the air was a stiff, chilly wind so said 'no thanks' and retreated inside for the rest of the day.
I abandoned my Kafka book, it got really tedious and a flip through showed more of the same. I've read a lot of challenging books but 'tedious' I can't take, life's too short. I won't start another before my visitors come, I'll reduce my pile of magazines.

Today, a few tidying jobs and a bit of kitchen cleaning, and I still haven't tackled those skirting boards! I also have a wine delivery so can't go out, not when the slot is 8am to 8pm...

Wishing you all the best possible day.

brook2704 Fri 05-Jun-26 07:47:52

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bright sunny start to the day
I’m looking forward to meeting a friend for a coffee at the local garden centre this morning and then onto the gym for a dance class. I’m looking forward to getting back to the gym and catching up with the lovely ladies there. DD2 is away tonight so Dgd is coming for a sleepover and bringing their new puppy with her. It’ll be a first for us so hoping it goes ok
Safe travels latedecember, Gingster and everyone else on the move today
What a hassle over the car windscreen GrannyIvy but enjoy the celebrations today
The nursery children sound so lovely grandmabatty
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grandmabatty Fri 05-Jun-26 07:37:32

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and bright. Enjoy your last day on holiday Fgt.
Yesterday I was thwarted from doing much in the school library, but in the nicest way. I had cleared the trolley and put books away when half the nursery appeared to use the communal space. Immediately there were shouts of "It's S.... grandma," and wee ones came up wanting to talk to me and tell me things. It was really sweet but they couldn't focus on what they were supposed to be doing- a singing game with actions- so I quietly left. At home, I pottered about but the weather wasn't great so no gardening. Ds sent me photos of his team night out.
Today will be quiet. I will get washing done and some housework but no other plans. The school was due to have a family picnic, an annual event, but it's been postponed because of bad weather. Have a good day all.

luluaugust Fri 05-Jun-26 07:35:47

Good morning from a chilly W Kent. Shopping this morning and my little deaf group this afternoon. I wish it had more support we chat and have tea and occasionally a speaker. We do exchange places like cafes and restaurants that are particularly good for the deaf.
Yesterday’s art group was sad as one of our oldest members has died, she was a lovely lady and good fun, we shall miss her.
Best wishes

Good Morning all from a less windy but still cool central south coast. There is some blue sky and the sun is coming through so hopefully a pleasant day after another wild one yesterday.

I had problems getting a repeat prescription online yesterday. Received a message from the surgery pharmacist saying I needed to have a blood test first and gave a link to book one. It didn't work. So I rang the surgery and after a long wait to get through, was told the first appointment was mid July! It takes 5 minutes to do a blood test so there must be a shortage of phlebotomists.

Anyway, when I said I would need my repeat scrip before then, she found me a slot for 1 July and asked the surgery pharmacist to send through an emergency 28 day scrip for dispensing at our local pharmacy.
Everything which used to be straightforward seems to be so complicated and drawn out these days. I use my computer for most things so do wonder how people without those skills or experience cope.

DH is going out for a cycle ride with his friend today and they will have lunch somewhere. I have a Tesco delivery due and am still trying to get my husky voice back to normal ready for the choir concert next Saturday.

Have the best day you can everyone especially those with troubles or struggles of any kind and safe travels to those on the move.

Gingster Fri 05-Jun-26 07:31:07

Good morning and it’s looking fine here in Essex at the moment.

We are off to our cottage by the sea for a week. Really looking forward to being there for some sea air and relaxation. 🤞.

The sale is plodding on but taking its time. We don’t care as it gives us a bit more time to be there ourselves.

Enjoy your last day Fgt. It’s been good for you . 😉.

Take care 🌺

Susan56 Fri 05-Jun-26 07:29:00

Good morning from Shropshire.Dry at the moment.

Yesterday’s forecast rain didn’t arrive until evening so DH got the lawns cut. While we were out yesterday afternoon we met a man from the same area of West Wales as DH.He is planning to meet DH at his exercise class next week.

Today will be the usual housework then we will collect the children from school and then back here for a sleepover.

FGT💐

Thinking of our absent friends and wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌷

BlueSapphire Fri 05-Jun-26 07:28:38

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, rain forecast again later on.

Another quiet day at home yesterday, managing to read the paper and do the puzzle pages. I washed a load of towels in the morning, but dried them in the tumble dryer - could do that without bending!
Sainsbury's delivered at lunchtime, and the driver kindly put the crates on the work top so I could unpack without bending, and he lifted the heavy stuff out for me. Putting stuff away was fine.

DD called in late afternoon on her way to her riding lesson, and a neighbour phoned to see how I was. She kindly offered me a lift to a funeral on Monday.
Another friend called to ask if I wanted to go for a coffee this morning, so that's my plan for today. She will pick me up, and I will make sure to wear sunglasses to shield my eye from foreign objects like dust and pollen.

So glad you have had a lovely time in Malaga FGT2. It will have done you a lot of good.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

ginny Fri 05-Jun-26 07:20:21

Good morning. The weather does not deserve a mention.
A quiet day for me. Housework first then I shall pop to the local nursery for a couple of plants and a garden gift voucher. Later I’ll hopefully be in my craft room.
Hope all with worries and illness’s find some respite
Wishing all a good day.

kittylester Fri 05-Jun-26 07:20:15

Good morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.

Busy day in prospect here. We are up early as DH has to ring the gp. I have to go to the egg farm, the pet shop and Waitrose. The gardener is coming this afternoon - that won't be enough time so I think she will need to come back. And, I have a sports massage booked.

Take away burger tonight though.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Redcar Fri 05-Jun-26 07:19:34

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, we have blue sky at the moment, but I don’t know how long it will last. There’s a cool breeze again, which is a nuisance as I need to spray some weed killer on the driveway and can’t do it if it’s windy! The boiler was serviced yesterday morning, then I took some bags to the local charity shop. I continued sorting out old paperwork and am pleased that the files are tidier.

fgt I hope you enjoy your last day in Malaga, you’ve done so well and hopefully future visits will be easier for you.

bellasnana, I hope your driving licence arrives soon. Your garage sounds quite a challenge, well done for putting your car away!

llfl enjoy your day sightseeing, I hope it isn’t too hot.

marzipan that’s a good photo! I have Erigeron growing all over my driveway and it’s busy spreading to neighbouring gardens now. I’ll be careful not to spray it with weed killer!

Thinking of all those in the sick bay and those who are struggling with life’s challenges at the moment.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Greyduster Fri 05-Jun-26 07:05:40

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is going to be a dry, cool, grey day. Yesterday we had showers on and off all day again.

I took GS home and DD made me a light lunch. We were discussing the blight of box moth that was ravaging our estate where hardly a single bush or ornamental hedge (including mine) has not been affected. It seems to have happened very quickly. When I got home I was chatting to my neighbour about it and she said the local garden centre had been inundated with requests for treatment. I have ordered some online and it should come today. I hope it works. I got my haircut in the afternoon and now feel a little tidier.

Today I’m going to a beginners t’ai chi class in the next village. We’ll see how I get on! If it’s something I feel that I can carry on with, I hope it will I prove my balance, which is shocking.

Have the best day you can, folks.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 05-Jun-26 07:04:21

Mick ~ it’s National Fish and Chip Day in the UK!

Celebrated annually on the first Friday in June, it’s a nationwide tribute to the classic British comfort food. Chippies (local fish and chip shops) up and down the country are marking the occasion with special deals and discounts 😁

RosesandLilac Fri 05-Jun-26 07:02:11

Good morning, bright sunshine and clear sky here at the moment in south Glos, more rain later.
I had a good cleaning and tidying session yesterday morning, I actually managed to get the washing dried on the line in the afternoon too!

We went to watch DGS1 at the cycling track race yesterday evening, it stayed dry but a very brisk, chilly wind and heavy clouds made it hard on the cyclists.
I was very tired by the time we got back but I slept well.

I don’t have anything planned for today, so it’s doing whatever I like!
Best wishes to everyone x
