Good morning all from a murky Morecambe Bay.
We are off to Manchester today to watch DGD dance in Swan Lake with the National Youth Ballet. SiL will look after Crazy dog and stay overnight so I need to sort the bed out as soon as I get up. We had a lovely short stay in Knaresborough visiting Newby Hall with its delightful gardens with my friend, walking through the Nid Gorge and visiting Brimham rocks. The Nid is where the famous Mother Shiptons cave and her petrified items can be found, but we gave that a miss as we have visited previously.
It’s good you have no weeds on your allotment Karma I wish I could say the same for my garden. I can’t remember the last time it was completely weed free. The pics if I don’t lose them today, are of the gardens at Newby Hall.
Take care.🌸

Good Morning all from a very wet and soon to-be windy central south coast. The heating has come on again so it must be chilly too. Sorry for anyone involved with outdoor events today.

My sore, scratchy throat is now a full blown (and how!) cold with a streaming nose but slept better than expected. I have just put a small gammon joint in the slow cooker to provide some easy meals. DH is sorting out the laundry.

Safe travels back home FGT and anyone else on the road today. You will miss the sunshine for sure!

DG3 had her last exam in her finals at Durham University yesterday. We received some joyful photos of her celebrating with her friends. Fingers crossed for her now to get the result she deserves.

Thoughts of all GNs with troubles or worries of any kind and hopes for a better day for us all.

Good morning from Shropshire.Raining at the moment and forecast for the next week.

We have the grandchildren staying so an earlier start than usual.DGD has sewing club in the library and DGS has a play date so once we have dropped them off we will go for coffee. We will pick DGD up later then lunch and a wander round the shops. There aren’t many shops in our little town but they live in a very rural location so she loves a chance to visit the shops.SIL will collect them both later.

Safe travels FGT.

Thinking of our absent friends and all with struggles and illness💐

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌷

Good morning from a showery and windy Torbay.

Our church's Summer Fayre is today; it’s usually held on the green opposite my flat but I think it will have to be inside. As I’ve been away for a few weeks, I’ve not been asked to help but my arthritic joints are not really up to it anyway.

Safe travels to FriedGreenTomatoes2. What kind neighbours you have! But then, I expect they admire you for coping with your trip, as do we all.

Have a good weekend, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning, it’s wet and windy here on the hillside in south Glos, a very soggy Saturday ahead.
I have been given an embroidery kit to do candle wicking; it seems to be a type of padded background and you do the piece by outlining the shapes in colonial stitch. So, I’m going to set it up this morning and have a go at something totally new and different for me!
I finished a little cross stitch of a greenfinch yesterday evening, I’m rather pleased with it. I haven’t done cross stitch for years.

grandMattie I was watching a YouTube video of the Siddhi women who make Kawandi quilts, beautiful work. Sadly it’s an art form that’s dying out, born of necessity in poor neighbourhoods and using old saris.
I was also watching John Cunningham, a wonderful USA quilt maker and he met an amazing 81 year old quilter, Margaret Fabrizio, who travelled to watch and learn from the Siddhi women.
I have several Kantha quilts but I would love a Kawandi 😍

Have a lovely weekend 🌹

Good morning everybody from Málaga.

Well I’m off to the airport at 10am my Glasgow friends and (neighbours) have very kindly offered to take me - how kind are they? I was going to get a taxi (trains are a victim of their own success always rammed now apparently and not just during commuter rush hours).

I’m missing English strawberries and asparagus , Jersey potatoes, Scottish raspberries and Welsh lamb from the independent butcher shop.

Oh and family and different friends of course 😁 😁

Good morning from a very rainy Cornwall where the trees above my patio are dancing madly. The wind is in the high 40mphs. Exciting stuff.

My friend and I sat on a café rooftop yesterday and watched seagull families with their new broods. She's beginning to find her large allotment too much for her and unlike me has no outside space to tend where she lives. It took me two years to decide to leave my allotment and I can see she's going through the same process, which is not easy.

Today I find I'm needed unexpectedly to have my granddaughter for the afternoon, which will be lovely. Last time she tuned my TV to YouTube so we could watch pony antics. More of that today I expect! 😄

My photographer son is at a wedding today, professionally. I feel for him and the bride and groom in this weather. Lots of indoor pics no doubt.

(I reported the scam post too.)

Good morning from Sheffield

A busy weekend ahead.
We have friends staying tonight. We are going to a Roxy Music tribute band tonight. Tomorrow we will visit the Holocaust museum in Newark. I’ve been before. It’s very respectful and informative.
We will go out for lunch at an antique centre that does excellent food.
After that lot I shall be ready for a quiet Sunday evening

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from a dull, grey and wet Black Country, where it rained overnight. I have read another heatwave is due around the middle of June!

At least it stayed dry yesterday, on our visit to MrJ's DD in Hospital. She has now progressed to using crutches and is going to be discharged today.

No real plans today, some housework and go with the flow.

I was going to report that post Grandmabatty so glad to see you have.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and wet. I've reported the scam post which has no place on this thread. Bellasnana enjoy time with your boys.
Yesterday was quiet again. I did all the washing apart from bedding which will be done today. I also did some work to the art piece for ds.
Today I'm meeting my friend for breakfast at the garden centre. Im looking forward to seeing her. Then home to potter. Have a good day all.

Morning all from Malta. As Bella said another extremely hot day is forecast. It’s going to be a shock tomorrow when we fly back home. At least our garden should be looking good.

Today is a free day. OH wants to visit the Armoury in Valletta. I fancy an Art Gallery. As long as we don’t spend too much time outside. I got rather overheated yesterday.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from very wet and grey s somerset

Yesterday was very positive, lots done with music on from the playlists I put on ipod, very many years ago. The sound is lovely and music so varied, the ipod is permanently in my old BoseSoundDock.

My windscreen wipers needed replacing so I did that. I just get on and do these jobs that become extra to a widow, no-one but me so I don`t think about it, I just fit these jobs into my day and spend far less time on cooking instead

Spinning and plying are finished and everything was put away. I felt my head nodding after tea so I went to the allotment. Hardly any weeds to be seen on my plot and I came back with a punnet of plump ripe strawberries. It was very windy up there

The rain and bleak day have decided my day for me, I will be staying in and I think I am likely to sort through another drawer or two. I am already at the stage when I could combine two cupboards into one in my living room but I won`t, I like them both and anyway cosy lamps, a SoundDock, plants and a tv stand on them

Good morning from Bristol. This erratic weather is getting me down. The wind, real wind not a gentle breeze, is what I don’t like. Today will be windy, up to 40 mph, and wet.
My Spanish class went well yesterday, but there were only 3 of us. The class is definitely closing down and I must try to find another, not with the tutor, sadly.
There was a fire truck when I got home. Much speculation as to why. Turns out that the previous night’s power cuts had caused someone’s alarm system speaker to go funny. He called them, they called the fire brigade…
Quiet afternoon spent sewing, I’m not sure why I made so many patchwork squares and am now puzzling how to use them all!
Today, church coffee. I’m not sure if I’ll go, if the weather is too horrible.
I hope fgt had a good journey home, ditto other travellers, may you have a peaceful day. 🐦‍🔥Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 36°C.😎

My hairdresser was very busy yesterday fitting us all in before she had to go back to the hospital to visit her daughter.

The operation went well, the surgeon is the same one who operated on Princess Eugenie, and he has brought his entire team over with him, including nursing staff. My hairdresser can’t praise them enough and feels her little girl is in safe hands. She still has another surgery to go through next week.

In the meantime, my hairdresser has her own appointment with a surgeon on Monday to discuss the next step for her colon cancer treatment. I admire her so much, she’s not at all self-pitying, just her usual sweet self.

I’ve got my treasures this morning as DD3 has things to do and I’m only too happy to have their company.

Last night as I was on my way to bed, the second cockroach of the year was sauntering into the living room. I took off my shoe to hit it but he was quicker than me and took refuge under the sofa. I had to spray the area but couldn’t see it. I found the corpse this morning and will have to get pest control to come and spray as I can’t bear the wretched things.😰

Loved the dog photo yesterday Marzipan, also your ‘Foxy whiskered gentleman’ merlotgran. He looks right at home !

For some reason I’m having to log in to GN every time on my phone when I never used to. I don’t know what I’ve done but it’s so annoying.

Anyway, wishing you all a good day whatever you are up to. Safe travels to FGT and any of you who are on the move.🤗
