Soops kitchen, a place of reflection, refuge and at times revelry.

Hi all, washing dried speedy quick here too Charleygirl.
Another sweltering day, MrJ had a nurse appointment, then we were in.
More tennis watched, my daughter called in briefly, she said school was baking, she was collecting her huge Harry Potter Lego kit.
I hope you’ve all had a good day, hello quiet corner 👋👋👋.

When I went to bed last night I asked Alexa the T and she said 25C. That is the hottest it has ever been at that time. I did sleep unsurprisingly not as well as usual.

Today will supposedly be 34C and Thames water are having major issues with water supply, so I may emigrate.

I am doing as little as possible, nothing unusual there.

If another District Nurse tells me to keep drinking and elevate my legs I will not be responsible for my actions.

I am unsure what I will do in the evenings once the football has finished. I never watch usual matches, only every 4 years and at the age of 82 I don't know if I will be here for the next.

I have had cherries for breakfast, a pleasant change from toast.

I have to hang the washing out, it will be dry in 30 minutes.

fgt I love that hat, will you leave it there please so I may use it?

Still 23 here and my west facing bedroom is like a sauna.
30 tomorrow and 33 for Friday.
Far too uncomfortable for me.
Any plans I have ,not many actually, are on hold.

The heat has just about reached us up here too grandmabatty but only to about 25° - definitely hot enough for me! I’m just home and showered after linedancing - luckily there’s aircon in the room so it was too hot. Hope the family are enjoying their holidays, it’s nice that you’re keeping an eye on the house. An expensive day for you though!
No plans for me tomorrow, hopefully I’ll be sitting in the shade in the garden for a while 😎
Fgt ❤️
Thinking of all our friends in the quiet corner, take care all

I’ve had a day of two halves really.

This morning our Yorkshire Lass rang me (she does, most days at some point) and I’d just been crying. She said”Let it flow, mum” and her compassion and empathy had me crying all the more.

Funny how a good scrike has you calmer and feeler better afterwards isn’t it?

When I went out to lunch later with my Glaswegian neighbours I had a lovely time.

Funny old day. x

How lovely to hear from Mr Soop.
Today it reached 28° in Central Scotland but I was inside for most of it. I managed to get a washing done and hung out. Then an ironing done. I hoovered too. Later I went to dds house to put out the food bin and check everything was ok. Much of the time I have been lying on my bed reading. I hope everyone is ok and coping with the heat. My fan died a death today so I have ordered a new one but it isnt available until next week at the earliest. I also ordered a new iron and a new hoover. It was an expensive visit to amazon!
Anyway I'm back lying in bed listening to 70s rock music and reading. Take care all

Really good to hear from you, MrSoop Your very good friend (& ours), Baggs has been so kind in keeping us "in the loop".
Warmest thoughts for you, & all dear soop's family & friends..Take care. x

How lovely to hear from you Mr soop. The service was lovely very fitting for a beautiful soul.

I like the hat fgt, i hope you find a dress you like (or more than one!)
Very warm today, but I now have several windows open and the fans on in the hope of it being cool enough to sleep well tonight.
I’ve watered some of the plants that looked as though they were struggling, I’ll need to do the front garden in the morning before the sun gets on it.

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone.

I’ve had a very enjoyable afternoon with my friends up in Arroyo at LWW. It was very hot walking up. I bought this hat in a lovely boutique I’d never been in before. I got chatting to the owner who told me she had opened this shop a year ago following success with her other boutique in Fuengirola. I do love supporting ‘independents’. I was impressed with her stock - some of her dresses looked beautiful so I plan to return - maybe at the weekend.

What a lovely surprise to see a post from you Mr.Soop. Your late wife was a friend to all of us in here. It’s very early days for you in your grief and we all wish you well in navigating it and finding acceptance by treasuring her memory.

Good to hear from you, Mr Soop. Thank you for letting us share in the lovely celebration of Soop's life.

Hello kitchen people and Mr Soop! Welcome. The memorial service was lovely.

It’s been 31 degrees today. A tad hot. How do I stop sweat dripping into my eyes?

I walked down to our local cafe for a WI coffee morning, which was fun. For some reason we drifted onto a conversation about men going commando. Ladies!

After lunch I drove to a friend who lives nearby. It was too hot to walk but I had a tin of chocolate cakes to share. Too difficult to carry.

OH is out at his shooting club so I’m melting on the sofa. He was sad that Egypt lost, especially as he lived there for over three years.

Have a good evening.

Welcome to the kitchen Mrsoop. It’s lovely to see you here. There’s always a seat by the Aga, evening if it isn’t lit.
This morning we were in Newcastle upon Tyne after a graduation. It was chilly with drizzle. Now we are home an it’s still high 20s. Our main road, the A143 melted again yesterday, for the 3rd time this summer and now it’s closed again for repairs.
Hope you can all find a way to keep cool.
Night night

Thanks for popping in Mr Soop, lovely to hear from you. Feel free to visit any time because there is usually somebody around to say hello.

It is 30C here but surprisingly pleasant with a lovely breeze. Somehow I can sleep during these hot nights and like Mr Corner I could also sleep on a clothes line.
