It’s so cold!

I looked to see if there was a thread asking if anyone’s put their heating on, trying to justify doing it myself. But no, everyone else is nice and warm, snug, comfortable.
It’s grey and wet here and the temperature indoors is 15. I’m so cold, despite a return to jumpers and socks and sitting under a blanket. It’s June and has no right to be cold.
Please tell me you’ve got your heat on.

We had a blast of CH for an hour this afternoon and am now curled up on the sofa wrapped in a fleece throw.

Our heating came on around 4-30pm in Surrey and it is cold . Rained all day from reasonably light to a downpour so haven’t been able to go out in the garden.

I’m recovering from an operation and am supposed to keep mobile so have been walking around our really big garden (1.6 acres), not today I have paced the downstairs of the house over and over. So boring!

Its 16* here in bedfordshire im still in a t-shirt with a cardy but i wont be putting the heating on I'd be too hot.

Is cold but haven’t put the heating on yet, have put on warmer clothes.
Wouldn’t mind the cooler temps if the rain would just stop so we can get out.
Looking forward to better weather this Saturday but looking at next week there is more rain 🙄

London suburbs. Heating on since about 3pm. Cold, wet and miserable.

AskAlice Thu 11-Jun-26 18:31:21

I'm in Hertfordshire and we have our automatic thermostat set to 19 degrees. The heating came on at 5 o'clock this evening, and thank goodness because I had been feeling cold all afternoon!

JamesandJon33 Thu 11-Jun-26 18:29:35

S W Wales. Cold and wet. Just had a shower and put my winter dressing gown on. Blanket on top of the duvet tonight !

BoggledMind Thu 11-Jun-26 18:27:17

Here in our part of the north west of England it's currently 16°C according to the Met Office and has been raining today, although dry at the moment.

Our heating is off and will stay off as we would be far too warm with it on.

Knitter43 Thu 11-Jun-26 18:24:40

Yes the heating is on here in Lancashire and came on about 5 pm. I have it set to come on if the temp drops below 19. It felt really cold until then and has never stopped raining here all day.

GreyKnitter Thu 11-Jun-26 18:20:25

We’ve not put the heating on but I’ve been sitting under my heated throw all afternoon. Horrible weather for June.

NotSpaghetti Thu 11-Jun-26 18:19:52

14⁰ in our kitchen earlier today.
Yes I put the heating on. Set it to 18 but my husband has turned it up now as we will be sitting down more - for a little while at least.
Baked potatoes in the oven!

MT62 "I’ve just changed my bed & put back on my clean electric blanket." I took mine off weeks ago and regret it now. How do you clean yours, can you really wash them? Putting blankets on top of my quilt and warming up a wheatie bag for bedtime. Heating is off because its oil-fired, goodness knows when we'll be able to afford to buy some oil!

Patsy70 Thu 11-Jun-26 18:18:26

It’s 14 degrees here in Kent, but rising to 21 tomorrow and gradually getting warmer. I am wearing a ‘vest’ under my cosy fleece top, as I did during Winter. Strange weather we’re having.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 11-Jun-26 18:17:02

Not needed here this apt is a fairly new build (15y) and insulation top notch. So luckily for me, no heating needed. I’m sat in a tee shirt and crop trousers. Mind you I don’t like to be cold so if I were the heating would be on!

Got the heating on in Yorkshire! It's hardly stopped raining all day, been dark and horrible, I hit the button about 3.30pm when I could stand it no longer ! That's 'Flaming' June for you !!

JaneJudge Thu 11-Jun-26 18:14:26

we have the heating on too, how bloody miserable for June

MT62 Thu 11-Jun-26 18:12:23

I’ve just changed my bed & put back on my clean electric blanket.
Wasn’t expecting to put it back on until October 😩
No heating on, only a hot water bottle on my back

rafichagran Thu 11-Jun-26 18:06:02

Yes my heating went on at 4.30. My partner and I were both cold.

Erica23 Thu 11-Jun-26 17:57:15

Yorkshire and it was 11c at 11am this morning when I went out. I was cold all day yesterday so I’ve put it on, first time for a few weeks. DH said he was ok but I persuaded him we need to try the CH now and again see if it’s still works 🤣

kittylester Thu 11-Jun-26 17:56:17

Ours is set atc20 year round. It came on about an hour ago. And not a moment too soon.

REKA Thu 11-Jun-26 17:53:20

Oh yes, we have the heating on. It's been on for a fair few days now. Dreadful weather.

OldFrill Thu 11-Jun-26 17:48:59

It's 13° here. A "high" of 14° forecast tomorrow so shall look out the sunbeds.

petra Thu 11-Jun-26 17:47:58

If the temperature goes below 21 it will automatically come on. It’s on 21 so alls well. But we do have a lot of insulation which accounts for that.

pably15 Thu 11-Jun-26 17:47:35

My heating.s been on most of the day,,it's cold windy and wet..

Greenfinch Thu 11-Jun-26 17:47:19

I have too. It’s wet and miserable here in Berkshire and my feet are so cold.
