Welcome NannydOg. You wouldn't happen to own a cat called Greebo, would you?

Hi, no unfortunately we can't have any more cats as we have a cat hating dog! We did used to have a couple of yard cats many years ago

There are defnitely others like you on GNm nannyd0g.

But as others have said we are a real mix, and I for one, have learnt a lot about others lives, who I would not otherwise have come in contact with, since I joined.

Welcome NannydOg! We now have a sheep shearing GNettersunshine, this is wonderful, most of us are more familiar with wrestling with balls of wool for knitting or crochet, hope you enjoy it here sunshine

I'm not as adventurous as you, but like to be active. I'm nearly 75, and in the last week I've been trying to get control of large garden! Cut hedges, grass, sorted out raspberry patch. Went to daughter's place to babysit 2 grandchildren.
I cycle when the weather is good- yesterday cycled to church.
I think there are some others here who have animals- we live in a rural area but only have a cat! We did have goats long ago but like trees - the goats preferred eating trees to grass.
Enjoy Gransnet Nannyd0g

Welcome to GN. It is very interesting to read about other GN's lifestyles. Not many of us fit into the traditional Granny mold.
Anyway I am sure you will enjoy the many and varied threads on here.

I used to ride a motorbike BTW.

Hello, I'm new to Gransnet (didn't even know it existed until I came upon it by accident!). I had a 19 year old Facebook account where I kept up with friends and family, shared pics, was part of many communities etc. Then found myself an innocent victim of Meta's AI ban and suddenly lost my account which left me feeling little like I'd been bereaved! Nothing else is really like it and stumbled upon this site while trawling the net.
Anyway I'm 68 and have always been on the active side, and probably wouldn't describe myself as a 'normal' Nan (whatever that is 🤣). I love animals and have had many in my life - I used to have dogs, horses, pigs, sheep and still have a couple of dogs and small flock of sheep (most of them are aged - I'm the only mad person around here who keeps livestock as pets). I've always done the DIY at home, maintained the fields, cut hedges and still do even though it's getting a lot harder now I have arthritic hands and hips are a bit creaky.
I learned to ride a motorbike at 53, can drive a tractor, digger, lorry, shear my own sheep. I go camping with my dog and made a wooden bed for my car. I do have a hubby but he likes to stay at home while I go off adventuring!
Oh and I have six grandkids. My twin grandsons say that when they tell their schoolfriend what I do, no-one believes them lol. That's me in a nutshell
