Good morning from a campsite on the banks of the river Ouse. What a delightful spot it is! We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived that the first thing we did was hire a boat and tootle off up the river. It was perhaps a slower tootle than it should have been as it was almost time to take the boat back, when DH who was driving it, realised he had a second gear and it could go faster!
Today we are off to Warwick. My paternal ancesters all lived around Leamington before moving to Manchester. so we will drive round and get a feel of places. I was hoping to visit a few churchyards but looking on Google maps the churchyards seem to have been cleared of gravestones and grassed over. Even if they are still there the inscriptions are probably worn away.
R&L your wait is totally unacceptable and infuriating. I admire your patience!
Take care everyone 🌸

Good morning from an overcast NE and the heating is on again.
My neighbour visited yesterday, the one who is supposed to be on holiday. Sadly she had a car accident near Dalwhinnie and was left without transport. Her DS drove from the south of England and collected her and brought her home. She was clearly upset, in 50+ years of driving she hasn't even had a minor bump.

Yesterday was a celebration day for GD2, in the morning it was her final exam and then her mum took her out for lunch.
She will meet up with friends today and then DS and DIL are taking her to Northumberland for a long weekend of walks and photography.

GD1 is back at her uni accommodation after a week in Corfu, she had a great time with six friends.

Quiet day for me, just putting away laundry I did yesterday.
Have a good day.

Good morning all and it’s overcast again here in Essex.

Yesterday was satisfying as I defrosted the freezer in the shed, sorted and cleared food so now I know what’s in there. I’ll do the indoor drawer type one today.

I shopped locally with my trusty trolley and took little pooch along for the adventure. She heads straight for the greengrocers who always gives her a few treats and lots of cuddles. 🐾🐾.

Today I have Bridge club and my friend is picking me up. I’ll have to get the bus back as she doesn’t like driving in rush hour across the Weir (you know what I mean GG. ) The traffic is horrendous at that time.

Who is this strapping 6ft 3ins male Karma who is visiting? 🤔.

Take care all 🌺

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and overcast Northampton, but hopefully it will stay dry as I have a walk ahead of me this afternoon.

Was at the surgery early in time for my appointment yesterday; I had my blood test and then asked the nurse if she would kindly check my blood pressure - no she would not, I would have to make another appointment for that. Went to reception, no available appointments yesterday, but they came up with one today, early afternoon, which I took, hence my long walk again today.

As by then it was 8.45am, and I had had nothing to eat or drink (fasting blood test) I walked to the village bakery for coffee and toast in their cafe. I then crossed the road to the dentist and amazingly got an appointment for tomorrow to check on my chipped tooth.

As I had by then missed a bus, I had a mooch around the charity shops and decided to walk the nearly 2 miles home.

After lunch spent the afternoon with three days worth of newspapers. Also phoned the cataract clinic to ask for some more eye drops; will pick them up Thursday.

A bit of pottering this morning, an early lunch and then out to the surgery again.
Home made Moussaka from my freezer for dinner tonight.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cloudy and damp out but fairly mild out. We may see the sun late afternoon and a warm day is forecast. My friend cut the grass in the back garden yesterday afternoon and it looks much better now.
I pottered about and tried out a new gadget from Lakeland, hopefully it will make cleaning the shower tray and hard floors a little easier.

It took me ages to get to sleep last night, so I went back to yesterday’s good morning thread and was really pleased to see taichinan posting again. Good to see you again tai!

rosesandlilac I love your toe nails! You have really pretty feet, my arthritic toes are very misshapen now.

latedecember I hope this afternoon’s meeting with the social worker goes well.

Thinking of those who are struggling in any way and hope the day brings some improvement.

Have the best day you can everybody.

Good morning from a dull Leicestershire. The sun did peep out for a time yesterday.

Taking DS to the station this morning but not a lot else planned.
Will do a bit of gardening as everything is growing so fast.

You have beautiful feet RosesandLilac. I hope you hear from the hospital soon. We are still waiting for results after 5 weeks.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Gagagran Tue 16-Jun-26 07:23:52

Good Morning everyone from a cloudy central south coast. No wind and it's 16 degrees.

Another recovery day in store for me as my sore ribs do not allow much activity. The black eye is still the highlight of my visage and the cuts and bruises are adding to the picture! Hey ho.
Hope to improve somewhat before Sunday when DS and family (including our South Downs Way walker DGD) are coming to see us and we are stepping across the road to our lovely local, small restaurant, for lunch.

The new window cleaner let us know yesterday that he will be coming this afternoon. This will be his second visit and he seems a good worker and I hope he will continue to come regularly.

Take care everyone. Kind regards to all with struggles or worries of any sort.

Ashcombe Tue 16-Jun-26 07:23:34

Good morning from a dull looking Torbay but with some patches of blue just appearing in the sky so it might improve.

Yesterday, I went to my exercise class as usual, which was run by our teacher’s daughter as the teacher is recovering from a cataract operation. Shea lovely girl, but hasn’t quite got the measure of what we can cope with!

Later I had a grocery delivery from Asda. I’m not able to do shopping for myself currently due to uncooperative legs! I do miss some of the Lidl products but we might be able to reinstate visits there as DH is back from tomorrow.

Today, I’ll help at Props at our theatre. The leader is considerate and finds me jobs that I can do when seated. The current play is Spring and Port Wine for which I’m distributing tickets tonight.

It must be frustrating that you can’t arrange those appointments, RosesandLilac. I hope you soon win through.

Have a good day, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from a dry and overcast NE Mids. Food shop planned for this morning and the rest of the day will depend on how the weather turns out.
Have a good day one and all!

karmalady Tue 16-Jun-26 07:14:09

Good morning from s somerset, sunny until lunch then grey with showers

Beautiful feet Rosesandlilac

Allotment visit and craft group yesterday, much chat and laughter

Today I have to get my head around purely vegan meals for the next few days, its daunting because I only eat whatever, in small amounts and it is so much harder to cater for a strapping 6`3 male. I am soaking dried peas at the moment, at least I can have a basic pea and veg soup in the fridge. I already made bean burgers and have salad and various veg, lots of tofu and the breads are made and frozen.

Neither of us use anything ultra processed so everything will be made from scratch and that is my job for today

monk08 Tue 16-Jun-26 07:02:36

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Washing on the go should be dry before my hairdressers appointment.
Spent a few hours in the garden yesterday so will have to reconnect with the iron today.
Think we may eat out later we have a few vouchers to use.
Have best day you can everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of🌞.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 16-Jun-26 06:40:52

Good morning, another grey start to the day here.

Will wake The Imp up at 7am, he has requested an egg sandwich followed by yogurt and strawberries for breakfast, so that is my first job of the day.

I shall go to Pilates this morning, and catch up with bits and bobs round the house before school pick up and swimming lesson.

I also need to gaze into the freezer and sort out something for dinner.

Lovely to see taichinan yesterday

RosesandLilac Tue 16-Jun-26 06:36:28

Good morning, it’s cloudy here in south Glos, I’m not sure if it’s going to brighten up today.
I had a lovely morning with my friend yesterday, we went to a garden centre and enjoyed a lovely coffee and cake. I came home with a small trough and a selection of succulents, I’ll plant it up today after I collect the dogs’ medication from the vets. I need to get some horticulture grit while I’m out.
So that’s for this morning then housework etc.
I’m still trying to chase up ‘urgent’ hospital appointments requested by the oncologist 7 weeks ago to no avail.
My GP can’t help because apparently once you’ve been referred to secondary care it's ‘out of his hands’.
I’ve exhausted every channel including PALS.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to a quiet afternoon.
I did my nails yesterday, rather pleased with the results! Only clear polish on my fingers but I have red toe nails 😊
Have a nice day 🌹

Good morning from an overcast, coolish Cornwall. 18° maximum today phew. I achieved so much yesterday without the sun shining. A huge old honeysuckle needed cutting back and taking up to my wild wood plus I sorted loads of paint pots and wood to go to the council tip with my youngest son this afternoon. Unfortunately there's a shop there, full of abandoned but still saleable items which I'll try to avoid! 😄

On the way home we'll collect a bench storage box for outside my back door from Argos and pop into Mcdonald's. My son has a girlfriend now so I don't see so much for him, but I'm really pleased for him. She looks kind.

Coffee on my swing seat next. 🥳

latedecember1963 Tue 16-Jun-26 06:26:25

Yay, it worked!
Thanks FriedGreenTomatoes!🤗

latedecember1963 Tue 16-Jun-26 06:24:44

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Lancashire.
I hope your blood test goes ok, Mick.

Thank you for the tips on how to get names to appear in bold, FriedGreenTomatoes. Fingers crossed I've followed your instructions correctly.
Hope you enjoyed Bents. I love it there but daren't go too often because it's a danger to my bank balance! Likewise the Trafford Centre. 😄

Yesterday we went shopping and then a friend came over in the afternoon.

This morning we're going to a photography exhibition put on by a friend of our DS at the local library.

This afternoon we have the monthly meeting with the little chap's social worker to discuss how things are going. He's doing really well and is a happy little soul. Before we know it he'll have been with us for a year.

What a poignant video from your brother, Gagagran, but how lovely that modern technology gives us these opportunities. 💙

Wishing everyone the best day possible. 🌻

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a rather grey South Yorkshire. I hope it stays dry as I would like to be able to walk to school this afternoon.

Yesterday I hopped on a bus and went to our botanical gardens. What a joy! So much colour at the moment. The roses are fabulous this year, and a lot of new imaginative planted borders I hadn’t seen before - and the gravel and rock gardens which I love. It always makes me wish it had a bigger garden! An hour each way on the bus and then a lot of walking knocked me for six though. I was ready for my bed by eight. Managed to hang on until nine thirty and then out like a light until half past five! You can’t get that on prescription.

Not much planned for today except my volunteer session.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Bellasnana Tue 16-Jun-26 06:05:01

Good morning from Malta where it’s sunny and the high is forecast at 32°C.

I had my treasures for the day yesterday which made it a very good day. They weren’t any trouble at all. We went to the park, then they played in the paddling pool which of course means the hose comes out (not looking forward to my water bill😅),we read stories, played with various toys and they ate and ate! I think they’ve got hollow legs!

Today I was supposed to be having Milo dog but just had a message from DD3 to say her cleaner can’t make it so I’m off the hook!

I have a package to collect from the post office, no idea why they left me a notice that they had attempted to deliver it on Saturday as I was in all day. Anyway, the walk will do me good.

I shall watch tennis later, my guilty pleasure!😂

Wishing you all the best day possible.☀️

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and looks like rain. GrandMattie diabetes can make you feel tired.
Yesterday the boys had a long lie for them. I dropped them off at school/nursery and headed home to tidy up. An early nap after my early start then I headed back to the school library for an hour. Then I picked up dgs2. I've offered my services to the nursery as a story reader next session and the nursery manager seems keen. Once I'd collected dgs1, we headed home. Dgs1 was tired and stayed indoors. Dgs2 wanted to do more weed killing with salty water so that's what we did. Then he painted his wee figures he had made on Saturday. I was in bed very early once theyd been collected.
Today will be more of the same. I'll bring the boys back to my house for breakfast then take them to school. Lots of pottering until it's time to get them. Have a good day all.

Good early morning from Sheffield

I had a lovely time yesterday at my friends 90th birthday lunch.
We had a good laugh and the food was great. The only problem was that there were a few flies annoying us. You know the ones that won’t go away and keep landing on you or your food. The pub we went to is in a rural area so could understand why they were flying around but it did spoil it a bit.
I’m out again today. I’m meeting my sister at the local Boundry Outlet. We will have a mooch about and a coffee. I dare say I shall purchase.

Happy belated birthday to dragonfly
Take care everyone flowers

grandMattie Tue 16-Jun-26 05:18:49

Good morning from a dry Bristol. We have “light cloud” which makes it rather gloomy.
Lovely to see you again, taichinan, stay around…
I spent yesterday chuckling every time I thought of DS and his”kilo of cinnamon” that he bringing back! It also caused much hilarity with those I shared it with.
Yesterday was fairly standard and not very interesting - although it was gratifying to seethe number of ladies still wanting to com3 to our not-WI. Tbh, nothing much has changed for them except for the name. For the committee, we have the whole (same) subs.
Today, I’m seeing the diabetic nurse. I’m so terribly tired and wonder whether taking the tablets (which I’m not atm) would help. Otherwise, I’m just baking for tomorrow and might go to town for some fabric to back another quilt. I made too many squares and have enough for another nearly identical one to give away.
Hugs to those struggling and trust you will all have a nugget of pleasure in your lives today.
