A foreigner does not need to be bound by Royal or British traditions in order to not want their children educated in the US. Canada is also an English speaking nation that would suffice. US primary education is a shame. Why would anyone want their children to start education there ?

Harry and Meghan. UK Visit.
(533 Posts)Just been reading about H&M’s forthcoming proposed visit to the UK with their children, pertaining to the Invictus Games which are due to take place next year.
Apparently, it’s a private visit, and accommodation has been offered to them on a ‘Royal estate’, but no mention of where or if it’s been accepted.
Security issues not revealed, plus whether or not it involves meeting up with the King.
We shall wait and see how it all evolves.
I hope the King can see his GC in private but no public appearance or photographs published of the event.
I think I read the late Queen met her GGd once but would not allow a photograph.
It is just publicity for them and their commercial undertakings.
There’s no way back for them. All bridges well and truly burnt. The King will probably soften and who can blame him but William?
I would bet Hell will freeze over before that happens.
As I said much earlier in this thread the photographs of the whole panoply of Royal events this spring, wedding, garter ceremony, Royal Ascot et al must have sent them into a realisation of what they gave up.
Galling is a good word.
Its no good saying they should be nice to each other because they are 'family'. Family fights are worse. Vendettas anyone?
William and Catherine should keep their distance from that Californian connection who should never be trusted.
Just a little personal thought; The sight of Peter Phillips with his beautiful, sophisticated English bride in the King's carriage at Ascot, must have galled!

He is a foolish man and that's being kind.
I doubt they're planning to educate their children here?
Why would they?
They're not bound by royal family traditions any more.
Sibling rivalry happens in almost all families, the first born does often get the advantages but Harry was hardly a pauper he could have gone on to a very comfortable life in or out of the limelight. Instead he married a feminist anti monarchist nightmare who is only interested in self publicity and destroying the royal family.
If the Australia visit is an example, their return to the UK is going to be maximum embarrassment for the RF, then write a book or even make a dramatized Netflix series based on it.
If it was my family it would be no contact, stay away.
And my very snobbish view on Meghan is that she showed her lack of class and even as an actor, couldn't hide her lack of grace. She showed disrespect to her inlaws (regardless of their status) by criticising them before really getting to know them, by rejecting mentors etc....and she had to learn how to use a knife and fork correctly/standard UK way.
She was ashamed of her family but now they are probably ashamed of her (or possibly laughing at her!)

I presume Prince Harry is intending for the children to be educated in England, so he is perhaps thinking ahead to when they will need the family's support.
I don't think anyone trusts Harry now and are very careful what they say when he's around. What he has done and said is unforgiveable and if he can't understand that, then he really is as stupid as he seems.
I think William and Catherine are well aware of making all their children feel loved, cherished and valued, whether or not they are the ‘heir’.
Yes, Margaret and Andrew are not good examples of being the ‘spare’, but look at Anne and Edward, both ‘spares’, but doing worthwhile, supportive work for the family. Especially Anne, who was knocked down the pecking order with the births of both her younger brothers.
I think both Charlotte and Louis will be encouraged to be the best they can as part of a loving, united family which H&M could have been, if they hadn’t ‘flounced’.
Family disputes blown out of all proportion.
But who was it who revealed them?
The Royal Family as a rule do not discuss private matters, including their health and family feuds. They live with constant speculation, but those who have chosen to give interviews about personal matters have suffered from them.
The kindest thing to be said about Harry is that he is a fool.

I think you are right Cossy it was his idea - but it looks as though he had a huge amount of assistance, time, money etc to get it going.
It obviously gave him a focus.
Absolutely!
I don’t think he’s a “failure” or a bad person, just very misguided, married to the wrong person and damaged.

Fair not dairy!
Oh no! Ignore my recent question!
FranP Couldn’t agree more!

Cossy it's a dairy comment.
Best scroll past my comments if they offend you in as opposed to telling me off!
Ooops 🤣🤣 I’m really not easily offended! Each to their own.
Sorry if I’m being thick, but what’s a “ dairy comment” please?

I don't know how they have the nerve to even think of coming here after all they have said.
Family disputes blown out of proportion.
Think William needs to get the rod out of his behind and remember that this is his brother and their children are cousins. You don't have to live in each other's pockets but he could remember that he is the "golden child" and his brother is the spare.
His own children will be in that position one day. Perhaps if more attention had been paid to Margaret and Andrew they would not have gone off the rails either.
Well, it is a good idea.
He has a lot of ideas, tbh, one about interviewing Trump and Putin about their childhoods....wonder why he had no help developing that one!!!!

Cossy I didn't think you thought he did it alone.
I assumed you were surprised that the sites you looked at and AI as well were all implying it was his achievement.
I have noticed that I can put questions (or statements) into any of the AI models and ask "is this true?"
I just wondered if it would just come back with a "yes"...
Sorry to muddy the waters.
I was sure you were as surprised as I was that your Google searches came back the way they did.
I just thought it was his idea, based on what he’d seen in he USA.
Clearly I stand corrected.

For Harry, I am sure he would love for his dad to see his two children since as he said, he does not know how long his dad has after the cancer diagnosis.
Meghan’s AsEver brand is not doing very well. Since the beginning of this year, the traffic to her website by American visitors has steadily decline.
I will be surprised if she decided not to come to the UK next month since she and her brand need the royal connection to stay relevant.
I nosed round the site AsEver, some quite nice things, ludicrously priced and hardly unique.

Harry is just a whining, low achieving male who was cossetted by his family and their team. Without them he is exposed as such.
Meghan is an opportunist but at least, she has a work ethic.
Quite a harsh and rather vile comment!
