Harry and Meghan. UK Visit.

In today's newspaper there is yet another photo of the Sussex family with the children's faces not shown. Am I alone in thinking that it might be better to not have photos of them published at all? Other members of the family, working royals who live here and contribute, don't find it necessary to behave as if the rest of the world must never gaze at their children.

Whatever you think about a monarchy I'm not sure that should be relevant if the Sussexes were wanting to quietly see family.

This latest episode is simply a replay of Harry's previous behaviour. He has fastened on his desire to have armed guard to which he is no longer entitled when he visits Britain, and has resorted to using his children as a bargaining tool to try and coerce his father into reinstating he and his family as full members of the royal family, without of course doing any work.
I would imagine the King is sickened as well as saddened by Harry's poor behaviour.

But then, who actually knows how he feels.

It's not a question of he king coughing up, what Harry wants is armed police protection, outriders, blue lights, traffic cleared as they pass by and so on. The King cannot provide any of that even if he wanted to. Our strict gun laws prevent it. Only specially trained Police can give Harry what he wants the king has no say in that. Harry seems to think that the King can influence royal security, he can't! The King is being punished for not intervening. Harry knows perfectly well that he can't, but won't believe it. What a horrible thing to do. Poor Charles.

I agree with FriedGreenTomatoes they could easily have visited quietly and respectfully like a normal loving family would. It seems they are just nasty pasties. What a shame.

There could be a private visit easily without any public involvement at all thats easily arranged but thats not what H&M want, they want a media circus they can make money out of.
King Charles has said a very firm "no" thats not going to happen, Im sure he would like to see the GC but not at any price. Not permitting a public profile for a visit is a real snub and might just be the nemesis for the Sussexes and travel to other places will be treated in the same way. After the Australian embarrassment not too many others want a repeat

Back in May Harry and Meghan visited Nigeria which he presumably thinks is a less dangerous country than England.

Poor Charles. First he is seeing his grandchildren, now that’s been scrapped.

At the time of the wedding between Harry and Meghan I remember posting on this forum Meghan looked like the cat which had swallowed the cream.
My views are the same today as they were then.
Just my own opinion and no one needs to agree with it.

They should have visited the family quietly without fuss then disappeared in the same way.

We, the public didn’t even have to know about it. What an absolute circus this is turning into.

Again, now people here are creating facts as if they are part of the inner circle of a family that just might want privacy and can see for themselves how it might be best to keep things private and not official as it would be far too dangerous for a public meeting with such aggression amongs the public.

Harry cannot force his father to give him security. This is solely a government decision and the King has absolutely no say whatsoever. Harry knows this perfectly well but simply will not accept it. Full armed security is only granted to the King and Queen, William and Catherine. The other working royals only get it when carrying out royal duties, otherwise they have one full time unarmed security officer. Harry is not a working royal, decided to leave this country, has caused the RF no end of grief and broke his grandmothers heart, and yet he expects the British tax payer to pay for full security as and when he decides to turn up!! .NO!.NO!.NO!

I agree. There have been no meet ups that we don't know about.
I'd say Charles, Camilla,William, Kate and possibly all the royals are relieved not ti have to politely tolerate Meghan.....

Really!!! I very much doubt if there was ever a meetup it would remain secret.

I do think that there are a lot of naive people on this thread if they think every meet up is announced. I am sure they meet secretly as they are entitled to. A public meetup is ill advised as you can see from they very angry remarks here .

The toxic pair are just playing the media. Of course they’ll want a photo opportunity at Althorp, what with the claim that Harry’s late mother spoke to him through Meghan, the actress whose superpowers are boundless. They’re both vile in their endless whining, and media manipulation.

They would have known what the security measures would be before announcing the visit. It's one big publicity stunt and a cruel one as Charles would have thought he was going to see his GC.

It’s not simply security is it though?

It’s armed security they want, which is a bit different.

Armed protection in the UK is provided exclusively by specialist police forces (e.g. The Met).

It cannot be bought regardless of who you are or how wealthy you are.
