Father's Day Sunday — nobody makes cards for this type of dad

Completely true. DH has always enjoyed DIY, although, you wouldn't think so from his language when doing it and as for DS, he does not do DIY, he pays someone to do it for him.

It was DD who learned to do DIY at her father's side and really enjoys it, but doesn't feel the need to use words beginning with F and B

Your post has really made me laugh.
It would have been the perfect card to give my own late dad, and Im sure my grandchildren are learning the same things too from watching their dads doing DIY.

My Dad was great and helped me so much all my life. He hated the idea of Father’s Day and always said “don’t waste your money”.

My DH’s dad was like that. Just held his empty cup up in the air if he wanted it filled. And my mother in law did.
My DH is the complete opposite and we have brought our son up to be like his dad.
He is always the first to make tea, get the washing in etc.

I disagree Nora there are plenty of cards very different from that rather staid image.

My father was a nasty abusive bully, I could dance on his grave.
Certainly no card ever designed for him.

My husband is a loving, caring father to our 3 Children, we are very active and involved, no pipe and slippers yet.

I agree. Though my DH gets funny/bantering type cards.

We are often first port of call, mainly because we have the time to help. DH has his specialisms though - a voice of calm, practical help and football banter.
