Good Morning Sunday 21st June 2026
(44 Posts)Have a very Happy Birthday, Sar!🎂🍷🎉
Good morning everyone from a potentially sunny Lancashire.
Fancy bumping into your DS on the bus, GrandMattie! Enjoy your catch up time together.
Take care, Grandmabatty, sometimes space away is needed.
Yesterday I managed to plant up the remaining summer plants. I've got some home grown nasturtiums left that I'm going to take to our caravan garden next weekend.
Dad died very suddenly over 40 years ago but a love of gardening is his legacy to me and I still use his garden tools which I think would please him.
Hope today is as good as possible for everyone, whatever it may bring. Take care. 🌻
Happy Birthday Sar53 have a fabulous day 🎂🥂🍾🎉
Good morning from my little corner of S E Essex, the sky is blue and it’s already 18° with a high of 27°predicted.
DD and her boys are coming for a BBQ later, they will be in the pool most of the afternoon I guess.
How lovely to have your DS with you grandMattie
Take care Grandbatty 👋
Thinking of all the Dad’s 🌸
Wishing you all a good day 🙋♀️
Good morning from the Essex coast where it is very warm already.
Today is my birthday, 21 again, I wish.
We went to one of our favourite restaurants for a meal yesterday evening then stopped off for a nightcap at our local.
Today we are meeting DH's daughter at lunchtime, it is Fathers Day too this year.
Have a lovely time with your son GM.
Enjoy the longest day in the sun everyone and take care xx
Good morning from warm and sunny s somerset
A busy day yesterday, cycling and watering the main veg in my allotment and again during the evening, ready for coping with extreme prolonged heat. It was also a good time to hand weed and use the hoe, the dropped weeds quickly die in this weather
I cut out a Tessuti Brooklyn coat and two Amara tops, threaded my machine and made one of the tops. I might well give those tops for Christmas this year.
I won`t need to go to the allotment for a few days now so it will be RnR for me. I have already put the big shading parasols in place and will sew and read, maybe knit, I will not be rushing about as the amber heat is on its way. 2 litres of water with lemon is in the fridge and so is a small water melon
Morning all from what promises to be a hot day in West Oxfordshire.
Church this morning in one of the smaller churches in the Benefice.
I need to sort out what I’m taking to Kew tomorrow. I mustn’t forget my sunhat! I’ve booked a ticket for the Escher exhibition at Somerset House on Tuesday. If it is really hot I’ll just walk down to Kew Gardens and keep in the shade.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from a bright and clear NE Mids. Very little breeze this morning as the trees in my neighbours garden aren’t moving at all. Nothing planned here for today other than the usual tidy up after breakfast and check up in the garden and greenhouse.
Have a good day one and all!
Good morning from my balmy patio in Cornwall where a little breeze is teasing me before the heat arrives. The orange splash in the photo is a pair of men's hospital pyjamas, gifted when I was rushed in there two years ago without time to pack. They're perfect for the summer!
A hummingbird hawk moth graced my valerian yesterday. What a beautiful creature, moving so fast I couldn't get a photo of it.
Today I'll need to stay in when the temperature rises but my flat is dark and cool and I've plenty to do to amuse myself.
gM, what a joy for you to have your son nearby for a while. 🤩
Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Early start DH has a fishing contest he will fish today first time this year.
Haven't decided how to spend my day yet although have stripped the bed and have the washing on.
How lovely your boy is with you grandMattie.
Enjoy your detox Grandmabatty dont stay away to long enjoy reading about your boys.
Card from DS bought a smile to DH face.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans ☀️
Good morning from a currently 17 degrees Cambridgeshire where it will be 27 later. I love the warm weather although last night was a bit hot and uncomfortable to sleep.
GM enjoy having your DS around and Grandmabatty I will miss hearing from you but understand, hope you are ok.
Today I have my two girls here with their partners, no DGC as the elder two are working and the younger two are with their father as it is Father’s Day. We are doing a BBQ in the garden. I crept downstairs at 5.30 am to get the meat out of the freezer. It should thaw fine ready to cook around 1 ish 🤞
I remember my dear dad today and his twinkly blue eyes, he passed away fairly suddenly in May 2006. I will raise a glass to him and smile so many happy memories.
Wishing a good day to all 🌷
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sky is full of fluffy white clouds. Going to be a warm one. We had an amazing sunset last night.
Yesterday I gave the downstairs a good going through and cleaned my bathroom. I put a lighter quilt in my bed and slept better last night. The afternoon was mostly taken up with weeding and cutting back spent plants. I will do more of that today but my priority is a walk at some point.
19 year old GS phoned in the late evening to bring me up to date with their holiday doings. They had had a very full busy day and both his parents were fast asleep. He was staying up to watch the football. I said that’s what happens when you go on holiday with old people - they can’t stay the course😂!
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and bright. GrandMattie what a joyful meeting, you and your boy.
Ive decided to come off social media for a while. I think a detox would be good for me. Take care all.
Oops! Ignore the ‘rainy’. Don’t know where that came from. It’s not likely to rain for a couple of months at least!😂
Good morning, the sun’s shining brightly here already on my hillside in south Glos, the longest day of the year.
How lovely to have your DS grandMattie with you, and what beautiful fabric 😍
Yesterday was cleaning and tidying, the washing dried eventually after a few brief showers.
I took bigger dog out early for a chase around with her ball, she does love chasing around with it; her returning it to me is another story……
Not looking forward to temperatures of 36 by Wednesday here 🥵
Best wishes to everyone 🌹
Good morning from Malta where it is sunny and 23°C rainy rising to 37°C later.
The painter did a wonderful job yesterday, I think I’ve found a
gem as he shows up on time, works hard and his charges are very reasonable. I have a few more jobs lined up for him.
I didn’t do much other than clean the flat yesterday, plus a bit of laundry which is now waiting to be ironed. In this heat I can’t bear synthetic fabrics as they are so sweaty so my cotton and linen garments need ironing.
I did half an hour on my exercise bike which doesn’t get much use! My calf muscles are complaining this morning.😅
My poor DGD got hit in the face by a softball yesterday ( they are not soft at all, just like a baseball). Thank heaven she’s ok but has a very swollen cheek and a fat lip. She’s playing in a tournament in Chattanooga.
Not sure what I’m doing today, it depends on whether the boys are coming over. If not I shall go to Mass and later watch the tennis.
So happy for you having your son home, grandMattie. Wow! That’s an awful lot of spices!😃
Wishing you all a good day whatever you are doing.☀️
Good morning on this Midsummer Day!
It is bright and promising to be warm and sunny - the hottest and disagreeable weather is for later.
DS called me fairly early asking if he could come over in the morning. Yes, yes, yes! 🙌
I had a funny episode afterwards. I went to the chemist to pick up a prescription then took the bus back on my way to church coffee. Rang the bell and got up just before the stop. A young man stood before me to get off at the same stop. I thought I recognised the back, called DS’s name. Blow me if it wasn’t my lovely boy! We waited to get off the bus to have a hug…
We proceeded to church where, as usual, he charmed everything with a breath. It is very funny to watch.
We didn’t stay very long and went home, where we had another drink. He gave me the beautiful fabrics and the kilo each of spices. The photo shows what that looks like, cloves on lhs and cinnamon (squashed) quills on rhs. Apparently, it cost him a little over £10 for the lot!!!
As he needed cash and wanted to get a secondhand book, we went to the next village to the Oxfam shop, which has a really good selection of books. Lunch, then waited for DD to collect us - she’d been at a diocesan synod meeting most of the day.
We spent the afternoon with the family; although SiL, DS and I watched the RFU final. I got a little emotional as it was the first game I’d watched since DH died. I barely saw anyone, as usual, as they were all doing their own thing.
Today will be quiet. Church then make myself a pair of trousers with the fabric DS brought for me - it is bought by the piece of 6 yards! Goodness knows what I’ll do with the rest…
May your day be filled with sunshine, much laughter and troubles put aside. 🐦🔥 Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦒🦩
Good Morning Everyone,
Its sunrise and clear sky over Brackley at the present moment.
Today, a day in despite what will be a warm day.

Take Care,
Mick
